Today the hype is racism by the real racists. We are sooo sensitive. We are sooooo easily slighted. This is what the first sentence in thenewpaper said. 'Caught in a situation where you believe you have been racially slighted', not being stopped on the road by the white policemen in the USA because you are black, or beaten every where you go, even killed, .... in Singapore, just feeling slighted is big stuff in racism.
And the minorities are soooo sensitive. You cannot put on the dresses of another race in a commercial and make money from it, you cannot go to a costume party wearing another ethnic dress and paint your face black, a sales promoter cannot dress in various ethnic dresses to look like them in advertisement promotional material, with no intention of belittling or smearing the race. It is racism, we are so sensitive, be sensitive to our sensitivity.
How far should this go when every little thing is called racism? Every one, every race, has some form of prejudices, likes and dislikes. I don't like dogs, and when a person of another race is walking his dog, my body language showed my discomfort, so I am a racist? I am a taxi driver and I don't like dogs and I refused customers with dogs, so I am racist? I don't like people with strong body odour, so I don't pick them, racism? I don't like curry, my neighbour cooked curry everyday, so I am racist? I don't like loud noises, the cultural or religious procession is making too much noise, I complained, so I am racist?
Political leaders need to be sensitive but also to be wise to tell the difference between racism, xenophobia, personal prejudices etc etc. With so many foreigners being stuffed into the island, you think the citizens would not have negative feelings? No xenophobia? If every racist is to cry racism and the political leaders would to jump up and down and start on a witch hunt, 'it could stoke people into making police reports for any perceived racial slight, real or misunderstood, or deliberately exaggerated.' Said Shanmugam.
How many people have been misunderstood, attacked by the real racists pretending to be over sensitive and calling every slight or encounter a racist attack? If political leaders are unwise, did not check to verify what is real, over exaggeration, or actually a racial attack against the accused violator, then political leaders are encouraging and stoking racism, playing to the agenda of the racists.
Political leaders have a lot to learn from LKY in handling wild and malicious accusations by the real culprits pretending to be the victims. Lim Chee Onn was accused of corruption. If LKY buckled under the pressure of the snakes.... If LKY were to take the accusation at face value without checking the truth, Chee Onn would have been wrongly accused and probably charged and jailed for corruption. LKY did the due diligence and absolved Chee Onn, declared him an innocent and honourable men and called the bluff of the snakes and vicious people out to destroy him.
The current hooha on racism arising from a few queers do not justify the attention and uproar implicating that the whole Chinese majority are racists. Far from it. The Chinese majority are victims of racism and often being beaten up by the minorities instead. Racism in Singapore is for the minorities to accuse and attack the Chinese majority, often physically, not the Chinese majority bullying the minorities. The few cases quoted might seem to be bordering on racism, but could be xenophobia or the frustration caused by Covid19, when everyone was feeling the stress and trying their best to observe certain uncomfortable rules, and you have some violating them.
There is a need for political wisdom to call the bluff and take the real racists to task. Any racist trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill, wrongly accusing others of racism, making police reports and making the police running around like bull arse flies, should not be let off lightly. Wild and baseless accusation of racism is stoking racism and must be punished.
Learn from LKY's wisdom in handling such wild allegations and protect the innocents from being maligned and not be an unthinking party to a witch hunt.
Stop the silly inquisition. Where is the political wisdom and leadership? Buckled under pressure?

Is Kishore Mahbubani racist when he said: "I have been saddened to see some South Asian migrants bring their feudal class-ridden attitudes to egalitarian Singapore." - ST July 3 2021 ??
What about this ?
If a non Indian said it then it would definitely be called racist.
The Sikh made the PM wear a turban. They made the PM looked so handsome.
Next time he talked to a Malay audience in a mosque, they would make him wear a songkok.
What else would they make him wear?
Thanks for the photo link. Photo posted.
This might show the most powderful race could be coming from the minorities as most Chinese r tame as sheeps (no say me racist lah).
Singapore has changed. It used to be the Chinese having the upper hand and most powerful. But today the Malays are having the upper hand and the Indians are the most powerful.
The Chinese Singaporeans today are pathetically sidelined by their own kind who runs Singapore. This is tragic.
Time for a tiger.
If I were his PPS, I would stop all and sundry never to make the PM dressed in funny clothing or headgear. It makes him looked funny, to be polite.
From the picture, he must be very angry inside, to be made to wear whatever people want him to wear as if they owned him.
S’porean working in the finance sector for 15 years says he quit because in a department with ‘23 staff, 22 were from India and 1 was a Chinese based in HK’
"Nothing much has changed since I left. You just need to go LinkedIn to look through the employees of many foreign banks to see for yourself", said the netizen.
Ya, it doesn't look good on him. Very uncomplimentary.
Talking so much about inclusiveness but won't the official discrimination against the Sinovac vaccine lead to divisiveness? Looks like I have become one of a group of outcasts in my country of birth.
One can dress up their pets in any thing.
But please don't do that to the PM. He is not your pet.
If they were to convict the Chinese person scolding and kicking the Indian woman for not wearing a mask on racism but to convict an Indian Singaporean scolding an Indian nationals family for also not wearing mask, then the law must be a ass. Here is actually a comparison of apples with apples.
Minorities losing out to a Chinese on a job application is racism. Foodjoint not selling the last wafer to a minority customer but to a later arrived Chinese is racism when there could be hundreds of probable reasons for that gesture.
At the rate this is going. the presumed racism of the majority could actually be tyranny of the minority.
I have dealings with foreign PMEs from a particular South Asian country in my job. Believe me . quite a number of them are opportunistic free loaders and never fail to seize an unfair advantage when give half a chance.
Mandarin Garden is now called Mumbai Garden. They will claim they built it, just like they claim they built DBS.
Those suffering from Indian fever can move into Mumbai Garden and enjoy the warmth there.

Racist Aussies attacked Asian students on Brisbane street - and Morrision wants PM Lee to sooner send Singaporean students to Australia
Must send, the Aussies love us. Unfortunately when out students are there, the Aussie thugs, men and women, would regard every Singaporean that looked Chinese as Chinese and would beat them up in their racist rage.
Parents on the other hand must think carefully if they want to send their children to racist Australia.
No where in the world can you find political leaders that are so silly but still think they are smart and the best.
They are the best because they are being paid the best in the world.
Some years ago, there was an Indian lady named Sageeta who started the term "Chinese Privilege'and wrote down all incidents of Chinese racism towards minorities. There were many who jumped on the bandwagon in supporting her including some Chinese.
I read most of her articles and came to conclusion she was actually cultural chauvinist in championimg the Indian superiorty. She even had issue when the movie 'Crazy Rich Asians' was a box office success but lamented why 'Slum dog millionaire' wasn't so.
When her drive to narrate minorities being pervasively discrimimated here gained no headway, she migrated to of all places,Australia.
That weird "sovereign" also went to Australia and came back refusing to wear masks .
The term privilege is mischievous. Because Chinese is a majority here, there are advantages due numbers, NOT privilege as the mischievous would want to call it. With bigger numbers you can sell more plates of char kway teow, or more Chinese would be among the successful. This is not a privilege.
A privilege is like the white horses. Because of their backgrounds, linked to important people, they were treated differently. That is privilege. The CECA granted privilege to Indians from India for easier entry to Singapore for jobs.
You people be very careful. Saying someone's name is longer to pronounce is racist. Saying someone is taller is racist. Saying someone is prettier because someone is fairer is racist. Wearing another ethnic's dresses is racist.
What the fuck has Singapore become if the racists are going to set the agenda and going around claiming every little thing is racist and accusing the majority of racism?
You cannot use the term blackboard but chalk board or you will be called racist?
This Bangalee PM is the Indian PM Singaporeans are waiting for.
How did this guy become a sick. Wearing a turban does not make one a sikh. Even without a turban, like Phua Chu Kang, who still remains a sikh.
How come Sikh Phua Chu Kang don't want to wear turban? He want to look more Chinese?
Now who can complain Singapore got no Indian PM?
No wonder Indians are the favoured race. A picture is worth a thousand words!
Cannot say Sikh Phua Chu Kang wants to look more Chinese and not a Sikh. It is racist.
It is so dangerous to live in Singapore. Everything you say or do is racist.
Cannot even say my hair is black, black hole, black mail, black spot, black out, black sheep.......KNN.
Also cannot say 'Little India is dark during weekends'. The word 'dark' also racist. The dark side does not like it. Any other colour you can say in public, but not black.
Singapore is a dangerous place alright. Hold a card up and you are arrested for holding a one man public assembly, jailed several months and fined heavily.
Yup, must say dark soy sauce, cannot say black soy sauce. The word 'black' is taboo in Singapore !
Ya, if some silly fucks shout racism, the imbeciles will reply, who, who?
Dark also cannot say.
To be safe, the government must publish a book on words that cannot be used to prevent people from offending the sensitive minorities. This book must be carried around like the Little Red Book.
Calling it little Red Book should be safe. No Red Indians around. Ooops.
If cannot say 'dark' or 'black', how to say it when the sky has that kind of cloud that says it is going to rain to warn people to take cover? Say it in any other colour does not convey anything.
I think Singaporeans must learn 'sign' language very soon.
There are a lot of Indian academics waiting to come in. Just replace quick, and bring in more Indian talents to complete the Singapore academic pool with 'locals'.
This is a very good excuse to terminate more Singaporeans.
If cannot say 'dark' or 'black', how to say it when the sky has that kind of cloud that says it is going to rain to warn people to take cover? Say it in any other colour does not convey anything.
I think Singaporeans must learn 'sign' language very soon.
Let me try to say it with great sensitivity. The colour of the sky is not any colour in the rainbow. If this is not good enough, it is like the colour of kopi... or the colour of soya sauce.
See, can be done.
No need more Indians lah! The PM is already an Indian as you can see in the picture above. The President is also an Indian. What other position are they coveting? You mean they want God to be Indian too? I think the Muslims and Christians would choose to differ.
