Uneasy population numbers

Our population hits 5.4m according to the latest report. Citizens make up 3.31m, PRs 530k and Non Residents 1.55m. Among the citizens the distribution of the Chinese, Malays, Indians and Others is 74.2%, 13.3%, 9.2% and 3.3%. The actual numbers of the races are 2.44m Chinese, 440k Malays, 300k Indians and 110k others.

Of the PRs and Non Residents, I am unable to get any data on the distribution among the major groups of foreigners like PRC Chinese, India Indians, Pinoys, Indonesians, Myanmese and Europeans. All I got is one number of 400k non resident Indians. This number is as big as the 440k Malays and much bigger than the 300k local Indians and the 110k Others or Eurasians. The local Eurasians alone could be less than 100k.
How big are the groupings of PRC Chinese, 400K? The Pinoys are estimated to be around 200-300K. The Myanmese near to 200k.

What do these numbers mean to our local minorities? Each of these groups can be as big as the largest minority group and much bigger than the Eurasians. The Eurasians are also an absolute minority compare to the foreigners. Soon one might not know that the Eurasians exist as their number is so small and easily overwhelmed, no longer noticeable except in Mediacorp. The India Indians are now more than the local Indians.

What would the picture be in 2030? The Malays and Indians would be absolute minorities vis a vis the foreigners like PRC Chinese, India Indians, the Pinoys and the Myanmese? Their combined numbers are now bigger than the combined numbers of Malay, Indians and Others even today, 1.55m against 850k, almost double the 850k. And the numbers did not include the 530k PRs.

How should we play this number game? Are we comfortable with numbers?

I am very comfortable, the more the merrily. I didn't vote for it - NOT ONCE. You (Sinkies) did so that your problem, not mine.

Further, there is no way you could remove the Garmen, they are here to stay. Gilbert, Pinkdot can have as many rally as they want the number will continue to increase.

I am serious and not joking.

    Yam Seng!

  2. Hi JC, the way we are changing the population is not like changing clothing. It is blood transfusion, with the old blood being drained out and replace by new blood.

  3. Aiya, RB, still long way to go lah!

The pool available is about more than 3.5 billion from our "hinterland alone" lah --- China(1.4 billion) , India(1.2 b), Asean(0.6 billion), Bangladesh + Pakistan + Sri Lanka ( 0.35 billion )

SinkiePore now only 0.0055 billion you kpkb. At least 0.1 billion then kpkb mah!

MRT too sardine can climb on top and cling to the sides like the train in India mah!

Housing too expensive but 4 year salary can at least buy a toilet still can sleep and do all the necessary bizness inside mah!

Lunch time food courts, coffee shops too crowded can remove all chairs like some mrt train carriages and got more standing space just stand and eat lah!

Hospital beds not enough can put foldable beds along the corridors, even the store rooms also can sleep mah! If not car park can build temporary shelters also can create some make shift wards there also can squeeze some more foldable bed mah!

Road too jam can think out of box mah! Our flats can build into the sky, roads also can build into the sky mah! Can have 50 storeys roads than problem solve liao.

Oh also car park not enough easy same solution build 50 storey high multi storey carparks, problem solved. Only thing is mb need about 30 min to drive to basement if park on top floor lor, but this one small inconvenience sinkies have a lot of tolerance and patience can bear with it as long as can have at least enough food for 3 square meals a day at hawker centre.

You see now our gdp make up of consumption, investment, govt spending, net exports. Consumption alone about 35% GDP or S$100 billion. If population 0.1 billion means consumption times 20 equal S$2 trillion. You see mathematically so tempting how to resist? We should train more mathematicians so our gdp can get bigger, sinkies standard of living can get higher based on the mathematical numbers. You daft is it? Never study mathematics? KPKB everyday! Sinkie GDP per capita $60,000 if x 0.1 billion = $6 Trillion. Sinkieland would be just behind Uncle Sam and Dragon Chin globally. See!

    Mathematics! Mathematics!

    Brilliant rt?

  4. Don't care what numbers, what race and what distribution lah.

It is the 60% that voted PAP which really matters.

And whether enough Sinkies join opposition, contest 100% seats and be ready to be govt. Currently not enough lah, that's the problem.

But more than enough bloggers and netizens, but not much use, tio bo?

  5. Redbean,

Yep, I am fully aware, as their numbers grow, beside in key managerial positions and down the food chain PRC's now selling "local" foods in kopi tiams etc. Not forgetting Pinoy in RC and helping their own kind.

These no doubts will increase friction, especially from me - whenever I go to food court or kopi Tiam - I only speak Hokkien dialect or Teochew and Putonghua to make sure the bastard understand.

I dun blame the PAP nor the 61% but dumb Sinkies oppositions - 20% former die-hard PAP supporters. Frankly, I enjoying every minute of it.

  7. Its very real, having to be a minority, if just a few ft's who is inclined to their own kind were elected, they being the majority will change the whole demographics and enviroment to their wants, they can and will surpass us in the numbers, if that happens, new policys and cultural force will put the locals, born to no where.
Not only jobs but nelect will push us out, the numbers and their actions have been telling us that.

Having 500 people, even when there were exams, it's so freaking sad that some are complaining about lack of chairs, freebees, shade, the contrast to this will be worst, jobless born here locals, cash strap, more suicide, it will not be of choice anymore.

  8. I don't think it matters to anyone except the 40% or the miserable 500 people who attended the HLP rally. The rest are busy either with their shopping, eating and computer games.... It really doesn't matter ..... sad

  9. Wikileaks has just shown that FT policy is PAP engage in demographics engineering against Malay. I think this is just among one of the factor.

The Malays although keep quiet are aware of it. The FT policy actually build up a lot of sectarian tension between local Chinese, local Malay, local Indians and all foreigners.

Many FT are PR but be assured a lot of them are here to stay. My grandfather was PR and he cannot return because all his sons and daughters are Singaporeans.

I do not know how this population ponzi will end up. Right now China city like Beijing, Shenzhen has wide Boulevard, good infrastructure was taking a lot of our PRC talent back.

Instead of making life here better to attract talent, PAP make our life more miserable.

In the end, we may need to get talent from slump dog countries like Afghan, Somalia...etc

    - actually I think that is a fantastic idea. sinkies will realize how lucky they are and probably learn one or two survival skills from them such as pirating and bombing others. It will turn the softies sinkies into some tough rambos.

    - they also have their one child policy, unaffordable and unrealistic leasehold properties, corruption issues.

  13. No matter how bad, sinkies can still be a taxi driver. Many eastern and southern young talented graduates now have to leave home and work as garbage collectors and other low paying jobs elsewhere.

"It is the 60% that voted PAP which really matters...."

Why keep blaming the 60 or 61%? Did you ever voted for the PAP?

It was the 20% plus 60% voter consistently voted for the PAP. Blaming the 61% and conveniently exclude yourself is dishonest, NO?

  16. There is only two types of minorities in Singapore.
    Opposition voters and Opposition MPs.

    Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!

    PAP parliamentary majority is forever.

As more and more unhappy Sinkies emigrate.
The higher the majority of PAP supporters.

  18. @ b 10.45pm "History has indicated that no one party can rule forever. It is a matter of time."

    Ha ha ha

This one i say absolutely true. Y?

Because there were many Chinese emperors many times more powerful and held many times absolute control than our grand master.

The greatest, most feared and most powerful arguably is Emperor Qin Shi Huang. After 2 thousand plus years, even rich and powerful men and women such as Bill Gate, Warren Buffet, Obama, Angela Merkel, Li Ka Shing still hold him in awe every time they visit the Chinese Great Wall and the Xi An Terra Cotta warriors tomb.

This man legacy does not stop there. To this very minute, his legacy is still with us, China and its people and on human civilisation.

Is our grand master greater than him?

But what happen to Emperor Qin Shi Huang empire?

Let me give a brief explanation

  19. But history has never seen how clever LKY is.
Our ... I mean Singapore's President can nominate MPs into parliament.
    They are called NMPs.

You vote in 60 Opposition MPs to form the next government.
The President nominates 60 NMPs into parliament.

I want to see how you are ever going to change any law in parliament even though you now have an Opposition government.

You already saw how our NMPs voted in the 6.9 million population paper.
That was just a taste of thing to come in GE 2016.
Open your eyes big, big hor!

  21. The day will come, when this new citizens rebel against the government. It's in their DNA which one old man and his son keep praising. They will do something which the locals have never dared to do in the past 50 years because of fear. That will be the day of dawning.

  24. I like the figures. Tat means there's increased variety in the genepool.

As to Eurasians: yes initial numbers show that thier minority seems to be getting smaller.

However in FACTUAL terms, they are probably the fastest growing group, given the amount of Asian-European couplings and inter-marriages. However these parents don't report the race of their kid as "Eurasian" even whne the offspring really fit the term completely. Inter-racial parents are likely to report the race of their child according to to either the father's ethnicity, or the country of origin of either parent -- assuming the parents want to register their child in their home cuntrees.

So you are going to get a mathematical discrepancy: the actual numbers of NRIC Eurasians is going to decrease, but the number of ACTUAl Eurasians is definitely increasing. One can say that there is a gradual "Eurasianisasion" of the population in cuntrees which have a vibrant "open borders" policy. Easy to witness: go to LA, NY, Vancouver, Melbourne, London, Bangkok...etc. There are literally MILLIONS of children from mixed (Asiatic-Euro) marriages.
