What is so frightening about the White Paper

The indigestion caused by the White Paper is there for all to see. No to 6.9m population, no to bigger population. Is this so difficult to understand or can be plainly ignored by the Govt? The Paper was whitewashed by the Govt that has absolute majority in Parliament. A vote for such a Paper is really a non issue and to claim that it has been read, debated and passed by Parliament, I really dunno what to say.

Given the shocking opposition by an erstwhile docile people, with various polls conducted officially or unofficially, the Govt is still in a state of denial, that the people will agree and support the Paper if they have read the details in the Paper. Isn’t this dangerous?
What is more frightening is that many on the side of the Govt are saying, it is only a matter of communication. If the Govt could have communicated better, explained to the people better, there would be no issue. The people will go with the Govt. Really ah?

Such thinking is really lame. It thinks that the people are so dense and could not understand the implications and consequences of dense population.  It also reassures the Govt that actually the people are just angry for the wrong reasons, nothing to bother about. The people will get over it in time, will come to their senses. The Govt is always right.  Or it is only 4,000 or 5000 people that are not happy, never mind. The majority of the people will eventually agree to it, and if better communicated.

Is this frightening, or something else? What if the 4,000 people become 10,000, 20,000 and then more and more? Would it make any difference?

  1. RB, not really lar. Even 10000 or 20000 out of few million voters also very small mah just a noise only lar from the vocal minority as what the govt said lor. Nothing to worry about just explain the policy better and sinkies will accept though one can already hardly breathe in all places one visited

  2. Hi RB, Singapore population will never pass 8 million. Allowed me to explain.

6.9 million shows Loong fucking low IQ. He has no awareness of many things other than exploiting workers.

First we got to ask. what make Switzerland rich? What make everyone coming to Switzerland?

One big reason is Switzerland peacefulness due to very low population. We know everyone wants to go geneva. Geneva population is less than 200,000.

Many knew we got much of our wealth by hosting rich foreigners. So what happen at 6.9 million population.

1st, everyone get choke. No rich FT wants to come here.

2nd, we live in very unpleasant concrete jungle. No rich FT want to come here.

3rd airborne communication disease like tuberculosis will spread easily. We are actually much as risk now. If our sewage system breaks down for 2 weeks, many people could die of communication diseases. No rich FT want to come here.

4th property price become so high that high IQ FT left. Many high IQ FT are just the nerd type that do not have much $$$. Our economy need these people. And many of my PRC colleague have already left.

  3. Today there is a high risk that very smart PRC will leave. I list below the likely scenario

If Xi Jinping manage to reform PRC into a true social system. PRC already has some advantage over us namely

    *fledging free healthcare system

*average living space of PRC is now 35 sqm compared to SG at 25 Sqm.

Now PRC salary just got to rise a little more, or rmb just got to rise a little more, no high IQ PRC will come here. I got many PRC colleagues regret coming to SG.

Kuan Yew and Hsien Loong policy is to make Singaporeans as miserable as possible. The PRC commie today tries to improve the living standards of people as high as possible.

We need to take down mother fucker Kuan Yew.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Agree. The PRC govt got their mission right. Improve the lot of the people. When the people are rich and well, everything will fall into place.

This stupid idea that big income gap is natural and acceptable, that a small elite should earn all the money and live in comfort while the rest struggle to make ends meet is a manifestation of sick minds.

  5. Today Geneva got less than 200,000 people and she has enough workers to do all the job. SG got 5.4 million people and bosses "cannot" find people filling vacancies.

    WTF.

The Singapore system is about exploitation. Period.

Kuan Yew and Hsien Loong is strip mining SG, of what Goh Keng Swee has build up.

Goh build a shinny SG that everyone want to come. Goh is quite unwelcoming to FT. SG prosper. Everybody want to come.

Then came Kuan Yew and Hsien Loong the 2 clown. They create poverty to make people work hard.

Meanwhile China try very hard to create prosperity for citizen. Eventually it will reach an inflexion point where no PRC want to come here.

The only people still coveting SG is slumpdog racist from India. They will convert here to a fucking slump just like what they did in India.

Seeing people suffer, LKY and Hsien loong cheers.

"I refer to the 28 Mar 2013 Straits Times report
'Mr Lee’s speeches in new book'.

Education minister Heng Swee Keat reportedly said that
it was Singapore’s good fortune that we had at our founding,
a remarkable team led by exceptional men of rare gifts
and that one of these gifts was the gift of persuasion.

Mr Heng may have confused our founding in 1819
    with our independence in 1965."

  9. No confusion at all.

In 1819, Sir Stamford Raffles Lee Kuan Yew founded modern Singapore.

In 1965, Harry Lee Kuan Yew founded independent Singapore.

Ancient Singapore was discovered by Sang Nila Utama Lee Kuan Yew.

    No confusion at all.

  13. The sad part about Heng is his thinking is so shaped by the current warped system. You just Know he wrongly believes this place was arid And a swamp (accg to Kuan Yew) before the PAP.

Fortunately the thinking of most pple his age is tt of the old system. That is, people actually Think, have common sense, and are not prostrated in front of Money.

Perhaps his attitude is the result of being a coddled scholar.

However, the govt's obsession with $$$ and the rich could work out for us re curbing a larger popn. Veritas' 4 reasons make sense. The rich could provide the brake.

Whatever it is, there is a huge battle ahead. Sporeans Must participate, and stop leaving things up to the govt, as they have done for too many decades. And that includes if and when that govt is not a PAP govt.

A lot of this mess is at the end our fault. We have kept quiet for too long. Now, we need to not only speak up but also DO.

  14. >> Govt are saying, it is only a matter of communication. If the Govt could have communicated better, explained to the people better, there would be no issue.

I have to agree with them on this one. However, there are many people, no matter how good and fact-based your arguments might be, are beyond convincing, because they've already made up their minds, and found ample (non-evidential) reasons to back up their opinions.

I've already indicated right form the beginning that The Sheeple are BEING PLAYED by expert players -- mass manipulators of consciousness.

When dealing with the masses, you eed psychological strategy. You can be open and honest or downright dishonest and deliberately obfuscatory...or, as usual a combination; somewhere in between. A good political strategy is always to mix lies with the truth to achieve the optimum psychological priming -- in this case to put people in a state of fear and confusion so that they are more easily manipulated -- even though they may be screaming and hollering for "fairness" or some other nebulous (untenable) idea of "social decorum".

I suspect that 6.9 mil is just an arbitrary number. When all is said and done, you might be better off preparing for 9 million or more.

The life you were used to..is GONE. IMO, better get used to it and design yourself a new life whilst you can.

To re-cap, here are the realities:

    1. "Your" CPF is, for all intents and purposes GONE. (unless you immigrate and renounce Singapore citizenship)

    2. You are no longer protected from global competition. The competition is not "on the doorstep", they are already IN, replicating and WINNING.

    3. Due to money printing and seriously wonky political economies (which require "saving" by more money printing), your purchasing power is dwindling, your wages (if you still have a job) are decreasing (both nominally and in purchasing power)...in essence, the middle class is being slowly wiped out in the developed cuntrees, but growing in places like India and China.

    4. 15% of the world are sub continental Indians and mainland Chinese. Together they make up 30% of the people on this earth. You might be ethnic Chinese or Indian in your own cuntree, but you'll be competing head-to-head with Indians and Chinese from their "motherlands".

    5. Indians and Chinese and their governments are hell-bent on competing in the global market economy, and they don;t always adhere to the "rules" or play fair. This is human nature at work. Accept it, and "suffer" but learn and adapt, or reject it and "suffer more" for a long time until you are economically wiped-out.

    6. "Too Big to fail, to cool for jail". The bigger you are, the more the government will protect you and bail you out. The bigger you are, the more laws you can break openly and not go to jail.

    7. The world's population will increase to around 9 or so billion, then contract. In most of our lifetimes, we are going to get a more crowded world.

    8. No such thing as "job security" anymore.

    The good news:

"Where there is crisis, there is danger and opportunity".

Technology and entrepreneurship will win out. Of course that means many ventures will fail than those which eventually succeed.

Singaporeans got to think about that. In fact, screwing our own tribe is build into our DNA by PAP.

You go civil service and look at the caliber of people especially Chinese that get promoted, 100% are traitor type.

As long as PAP is in power, we will not develop patriotism. Singaporean intellect need to think out of the box. We need solution.

I have only pointed out the situation. I am still thinking of solution. We are not unlike China 1840-1949. We are now under siege. China wait for 100 years to get a wicked genius Chairman Mao, that solve many of the problem.

  20. @438:

Gerrymandering is a well known and effective political tactic.

It is a reality. If you have the (political) power, then chances are you'll use it to give yourself a political advantage.

Politics is best viewed as a "game", because it is zero sum i.e. one winner, the rest lose. Therefore the behaviour of participants is expected to be "game-like" i.e. participants will act in ways that they think will give them an advantage over their opponents.

In politics, the end justifies the means -- no holds barred.

Even foul mouth Matilah is very well received here though getting a few kicks now and then. Oops, my mistake. This one cannot tahan anyone saying anything good about him. He got offended by friendly remarks.

Now, Matilah, please do not encourage politicians by saying the ends justify the means. This will make them more mean and ruthless and think it is normal and Matilah approves of it.

Please tell them the meanness must lead to something good. There is morality even among the devils.

  24. redbean,

Like I said, and keep reminding people -- I am a realist: whatever we can all sense and agree as "facts" -- although we differ in beliefs, philosophies etc...there is something common in our individual perceptions of "reality" and the models we construct which we agree on. Otherwise we won't even be able to dial each other's cell phone number or drive 5 meters without hitting something. Model-dependent realism

But facts mean different things to different people. For e.g.: Some people view gerrymandering as an "evil". To me, I expect it to happen. If it didn't, to me that's a bigger red flag: the political party is probably up to something even more "evil".

Voting out the PAP: Even if this is possible, all that will happen is these fuckers will get LUCRATIVE JOBS in the private sector. Having an executive background in government and state is BIG BUCKS on anyone's resume. Like I said, me is realist. Today's corporations are amoral bastards: they will hire the best crooks in the world.

BTW, I don't think politicians need "encouragement" from an unknown beach bum like me ;-)

    >> Why not we become racist and play others?

Sure, maybe you can, assuming you have the skills, the tactics and the "detection equipment".

The key word here is "play". Most people don't know HOW TO play; they don't even realize that they are being played themselves. The sci fi cult film 'The Matrix' explains this very well. Your average Jo, through no fault of his own does not even have the "detection equipment" to alert him to bullshit, and if he is being deliberately being played by being seduced by the bullshit.

Have you seen infomercials on TV? Late night shopping where dicey corporations sell over priced nonsense to unsuspecting masses, who buy this nonsense. It is a multi billion dollar industry.

The human mind is almost been "designed" to be fooled. And our "default" is that we NEED AUTHORITY, and are "wired" to OBEY "authority".

See the famous Milgram Experiment See youtube's videos on it.

The survival of PAP is more important than survival of singaporeans. PAP needs all the votes from foreigner-converted citizens to stay in power and prevent dirty laundry from been exposed.
