Wishful thinking - UK to become a pre eminent power in Asia Pacific

In March 2021, the UK published a “comprehensive articulation” of London’s “national security and international policy” for decades to come, which would “[shape] the open international order of the future,” known as the ‘Integrated Review’.

Its vision was amazingly bold, and foresaw the UK becoming a pre-eminent power in the Asia-Pacific, expanding its presence via overseas military bases, and increasing its nuclear weapon stockpile.

There is little sign of London making even mild progress on any of its grandiose objectives two years later, But what’s more, it has now published a comprehensive 'refresh' of these plans, “responding to a more contested and volatile world.”

Above is quoted from an article by Felix Livshitz in RT.

The Brits are still in dreamland after fading into oblivion in the last 70 years.  They are still harbouring grandiose dreams of great power like the Japanese, thinking that a little island with a small population and a miserable little economy, they could still rule the world or be a force to be reckon with. Wishful thinking is being polite to shatter the drunkard Brits oblivious that the world has changed.

The sight of a British warship, Revan aircraft carrier, could make many countries wet in their pants, shivering in fear. The fire power of an aircraft carrier could destroy a small or medium size country. But not anymore. China is waiting eagerly to sink these floating bath tubs in the South China sea.

During the Opium Wars, it was the Brits that could hit the Chinese on the shores but the Chinese could not hit them, losing out to the Industrial Revolution and technology then. Today, China could hit all these bath tubs without seeing them. And the bath tubs could not do anything about it. The 4th Industrial Revolution is in China's favour.

In WW2, it was the sinking of the Prince of Wales and the Repulse by the Japanese. This time it would be the sinking of the Prince of Wales and Queen Elizabeth by China to avenge the Opium Wars.

  3. Aiyoh...Brit still talking about their has-been sunset empire?? Soon the US 'empire' will be joining them in permanent retirement mode!

BTW just look at the US neocons freaking out about the Xi-Putin meeting:

'Blinken also on Monday condemned the visit of China's President Xi to Putin to talk Ukraine peace...'

'Blinken described China's 12-point Ukraine peace plan as essentially nothing but a scheme to provide diplomatic cover to Russia's war crimes. Despite all of this, Zelensky himself has maintained some degree of openness, and is likely to hold a phone call with Xi in the coming days to explore potential ceasefire options.'

So what is the US's solution?

Blinken unveiled the latest defense aid package - at $350 million including more missiles and air defense missiles, listed among these more High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) and howitzers, ammo for Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles, high-speed anti-radiation missiles, anti-tank weapons as well as and riverine boats, according to The Hill.

  5. Remember that Little Britain spawned the USA and Australia. So, their DNA is the same. And AUKUS is just to keep the three even closer together. Birds of a feather makes confrontation together as well?

  7. "They are still harbouring grandiose dreams of great power like the Japanese,"
    Exactly! ( japenis actually )

India should remind 'little britain' it has yet to settle repayment for the pillage and plunder of $43T, and it is silly to indulge in wet dreams of being significant in Asia-Pacific. For starters, India should lead the way for ex colonies to abandon the 'commonwealth games'.
It is a humiliating reminder of their tragic past when little britain was lording over them.
India should propose 'kamasutra games' whereby the brits, aussies, kiwis will be invited to participate only as recipients.

  8. India and Little Britain is now not that 'buddy buddy' despite both being ruled by Indians. Not after the BBC documentary about Modi and the attack by Hindenburg and George Soros on India's financial system.

Moreover, the latest 'attack' by pro-Khalistan protestors is further straining relations between Little Britain and India. India is not happy with Little Britain, and asking why no British security was present when it happened, as it was customary for the host country to protect the embassies of other nations with security.

The Sikh problem in Punjab has been a long standing issue for India. The Sikhs in Punjab wants independence from India and had been fighting for it for decades. From what we can see from the Modi Hindu Government's treatment of Muslims, we can more or less guess why the Sikhs are not happy being part of India.

But, despite the issue in India, the USA vis a vis the West did not strongly criticise nor condemn Modi's treatment of the Muslims, while hyping up the Uyghurs issue in Xinjiang to such great lengths is simply astounding. Even Paul Keating could not stomach the double standard that the West is using to judge China and India on similar issues. And ironically both regarding Muslims.

  9. When the Brits and the Europeans came to colonise the rest of the world, most of the countries were still backward and only had bows and arrows against their guns and cannons.

Today, many countries have more guns and better weapons than the Brits. They still think they could run wild to colonise the world?

India could easily invade and conquer the Brits. Many countries could also do so today.

  10. It is really funny watching those videos of African leaders bluntly telling the Western leaders off in the face.

The Africans really are full of disdain for the Whites today, highly distrustful of the Whites, unforgiving when dragging up the past.

Slavery was the crime of the century that the Whites committed against the Blacks. Fortunately the Blacks did not succumb to genocide like the Native Americans.

  11. The growing prosperity of African states has given them more confidence of themselves to stand up to the white men. Added to that, with China and Russia now in a position to protect them, they have no fear of being invaded by the white men.

Africa is the next growth centre in the 21st century.

  12. Personally, I don't think there will be a 21st century. WW3 is just round the corner.

  15. Not only pensioners in France. Throughout Europe, Pension Funds are toast and are now no better than Ponzi schemes, collecting from young new contributors just to pay the retired, until they run out of money. And the ponzi schemes will collapse. They are unable to generate enough returns that they promised. Those promises of the sun and the moon are not sustainable.
