Trump - Winning trade war is easy

Now the USA is talking about rethinking the lifting of some tariffs on goods from China in the wake of China's response to Taiwan. Let not the USA thinks this is anything wise, or doing China a favour, knowing that inflation is still a grave problem in the USA with oil and gas not getting cheaper any time soon.

If they think that just raising interest rates will tame inflation, they have to be prepared for the consequences of high interest rates on businesses, mortgage payments, loans etc. A recession in the USA is already on the cards and apparently clear, but has been vigorously denied and repackaged by hogwashing it's definition, in order to fool the voters.

Moreover, it is not China begging the USA to lift those sanctions. On the contrary, China's trade surplus actually hit a record US$101 billion in July, 2022, despite all the gloom and doom forecast by the West about the consequences brought about by all those lockdowns. So, the propaganda does not fit the reality and China should care not little about whether the USA lift those tariffs or not. Let the USA talk to itself and pay little importance to it's game of contorted lies.

The irony is that the dull witted USA citizens do not fully realise that they are the ones paying for those tariffs imposed by the USA side. It is a tax on their side, clear and simple. This is made apparently clear now by the USA admitting that the tariffs are a factor adding to the high inflation in the USA. China is still having very low inflation by the way.

Trump had all along been claiming that the tariffs are meant to punish China unilaterally, by lying to his own people. Have Chinese exports been curtailed substantially? This July, 2022 trade surplus figures tells the whole story. China is exporting even more. And what can we expect if China were to dispense with all those lockdowns and go full steam ahead? Go figure it out. Now the cat is out of the bag and who is bearing the punishment is abundantly clear.

Biden is dead duck. On the one hand not responding to China's present action against Taiwan will affect his November mid term. On the other hand, not lifting some tariffs on China products will be one big factor in fighting inflation. He is between a rock and a hard place.

  1. I find it hard to believe that inflation has in fact gone down marginally in the USA, contrary to forecast made by people in the know. Moreover, inflation is still rising in the European Union. It has more than having to do with the fall in oil prices, which is just one factor weighing on inflation, and Biden has been trying to connect inflation with the war in Ukraine and blaming the cause on Putin. People are not buying it.

The crux of the argument is that inflation was already apparent in the USA before the liberation of Eastern Ukraine by the Russians. Why are they not talking about money printing, which everyone knows, is the prime reason and the low interest rate environment fueling demand for decades. The house of cards is collapsing. They are talking about another 5 or 6 rounds of interest rate increases, which will hasten the collapse with businesses, properties bearing the brunt of the consequences.

  2. Trade wars are easy to win. But Trump's trade war against China has been described as a 'total flop'. The man who thinks so highly of his 'art of the deal' tactics has been dealt a bruising blow, that after four long years of trade war against China, the USA has nothing to show. In fact China's trade surplus has been growing. The USA had to depend on China, because it produces nothing. After four years of hoping for manufacturing to move back to USA, all he did with his trade war was relocating manufacturing to Vietnam, India and elsewhere but not to the USA.

Hoping for manufacturing to return to USA is just a pipe dream that cannot happen with mere rhetoric and no backing. Who wants to return to manufacture products in the USA when wages are so high and in the end not being able to compete globally. Chinese investments in manufacturing are not going to USA, knowing that they will be targeted at the whims and fancies of the USA administration, whether under Republicans or Democrats. Who is really that stupid? Not the Chinese for sure.

  3. "The Art of the Deal" was not written by Trump himself. He paid someone to write it. The real author has come out to refute him. That's why nowadays, he has never talked about it any more.

  4. It is suspected that Trump was sold out by his wife Melania Trump and son-in law Jared Kushner that led to the FBI raid. Wonder whether that is true. Anyway, this shows how trustworthy the Whites are, even family members ratting on each other.

Does that make countries think deeply about trusting the USA? You would be surprised that many still do, even if they know they are playing with fire. The Europeans for example, are willing to follow the USA into the sewers, sacrificing their economy, manufacturing industries and sovereignty to be controlled by the Evil One.

  5. The UK is still trying to act tough and make a big deal of telling the world they have cut off completely from Russian energy and fool the world. The world knows that households by the thousands in the UK are now not paying their energy bills because of the hike in energy prices and they are unable to cope. Who are they trying to kid?

British Intelligence should know better and tell the UK Government not to try pulling wool over people's eyes. Just like the Germans, now in serious trouble. Schulz might not last this winter.

When Scotland leaves the UK, the Brits will have no North Sea oil to fall back on in energy supplies. That is the absolute reality.

  6. The USA is trying to criminalise Russian military action in Ukraine as 'state sponsored terrorism' which Russia has warned will be an act of no return in their relations.

The world's No. 1 Government funded and state sponsored terrorist is accusing others of what they have been doing for decades. Putin already said so that the USA will accuse others of crimes they themselves committed when the time comes. They never look at themselves in the mirror.

Meanwhile, the 'horse and elephant show' in the USA is really entertaining and signals the political system is on the verge of collapse. The Democrats are realistically very, very desperate this coming November, weaponising the justice system ie the Courts and FBI now to get rid of the opposition. This is unknown territory and could lead to civil war.

Forget about the reasons for the raid and what evidence the FBI seized. If they can fabricate evidence to invade Iraq, this is just small potato that they are used to cooking. They will take action first since Trump is frighteningly close to taking November, and invent reasons and evidence and pay witnesses to cement their case, that will only perhaps see the light of day in the courts, maybe two more years down the road and play out for another two more years. Like the Russian-gate witch-hunt, of which nothing came out of it.
