China has lately been accused of building a secret naval base in Cambodia. How is that one base, even if it is true, going to surpass the USA's almost a thousand military bases all around the world? But the USA is still going all out to create hysteria by stirring up the dogs to bark as loud as they can about the issue. Even the Indians are joining in the chorus of the barking ensemble.
The USA thinks that by having the sole naval power to blockade the sea routes through the Straits of Malacca, in times of conflict, they can strangle China's energy supply and trade through the Straits, and wants to make sure China has no way to counter that. That is probably the reason for their fear of a Chinese naval base in Cambodia that could give China a base for their naval vessels to be close to the Straits.
That thinking is no longer a paramount strategic move today, as China has already built a land route via the BRI and is well served by Russia in the energy sector. The USA had already demonised the BRI project for obvious reasons. Cheaper Oil, gas and coal from Russia has been a bonus for China in the aftermath of the Ukraine War. That is why the USA and the West are adamant that China must condemn Russia's liberation of Eastern Ukraine, in order to pry apart the ties between Russia and China. It will not work going forward, because the vile and nefarious attitude of the USA and the West towards both of them, is totally without redemption, and has been revealed as an open book for both countries to consider.
Another plan that the EU is planning to put up in the aftermath of the energy shortage is the talk that they are desperately going back to coal. That is another wrong assumption and futile move, as the EU depends for 47% of it's solid fuel (coal) from Russia. In any case they have already cut off Russian coal imports, and there is not way back. Sure, they are at liberty to import more coal from the USA and Australia among others, but again begs the question, at what cost? In terms of price, nothing can compete with Russian energy for the EU. That is the whole truth and nothing but the truth. The lying and posturing are not going to override the truth when the shit hits the fan.
So, watch the circus unfolding in the EU and hope the clowns can put on more entertaining shows to entertain the world. Nancy Pelosi would love that.

There are now few propaganda pieces about how Ukraine is winning the war. So, are the prop-Ukraine propagandist now feeling tired of reporting too much winning? Or have the truth caught up with them and they cannot lie anymore?
ReplyDeleteCivil unrest are rising amid inflation in many countries. In UK, the rail strike is going to create chaos on even weekdays. The transport workers are asking for a 7% wage increase, while the Government offered a miserly 3%, which is not even half way from what the workers demanded. And that 7% is not even sufficient to cover the 9% inflation as of now. Many in the know are saying that the 9% inflation is hogwash and not realistic and 18 to 20% is more likely. The rail strike will hit many sectors hard, like tourism for example . Even if the Government is able to match the demands, that is not the end of the problem. The wage increase will fuel price increases by business entities and the cycle keeps repeating. Business entities seeing more money in worker's hands will raise prices, workers cannot continue to live well with the price increases and will demand more pay, and it goes round and round.
Belgium is also on strike marked by demonstrations by transport workers demanding the Government take a handle in bringing inflation at 8.97% down. Just wonder whether that is the true figure, but it cannot be lower in reality.
If Biden cannot come home with more oil from his trip to Saudi Arabia, if he does make the trip, the USA will face the same problems with inflation and civil unrest will surely follow with fuel price hitting the stratosphere. And that will be the end of Biden and the Democrats. No more Alamak as well!
India is facing riots on a different front. Young people are rioting and protesting against the new recruitment plans for the army. And Sri Lanka is now deep in debt trap shit.
How many other countries with high inflation will follow is anybody's guess.
The high inflation realistically is the Government stealing the people's money.
ReplyDeleteFor retirees, their savings will be eroded drastically if inflation continues to be high. 9% or thereabouts in the UK is a big dent on their buying power moving forward.
In Red Dot, with more than 5% inflation, their CPF savings, other than the money in medisave/retirement account, the ordinary account interest of 2.5% is just half of what inflation takes away. But what choice do members have?
No wonder they call inflation a tax on people's savings. But there is no way out for the common beans. Without savings they will be in trouble. With savings they are also in trouble, seeing their saving eaten away by inflation year after year. I think even pension fund's return are just as bad, seeing that some pension funds are basically insolvent going forward in the USA.
Mad Hatter aka Mahahtir wants to take back Singapore and Rhio Islands from Sinkies and Indonesians.
ReplyDeleteGood?
Sinkies no need worry of no chickens and vege and durians!
Also many live chickens in K.L. PJ.
Also can stay in Terrace houses and even bungalows in Penang.
Just like in HK they going to build many many housings of apartments, bungalows, terraces for the Hong Kongers
So those who migrated to the Brits Land would now cry till no more tears as punching bags for their frustrations.
Understand many who migrated to UK are being de-migrated to Rwanda, and they refused to go. Understand they were caught and sent out forcibly, with Human Rights group making a stand against such a move. And they created so much hubris against the Myanmar Government doing the same with the Rohingya issue.
ReplyDeleteUK is giving special treatment to Ukrainian refugees, but wonder whether Hong Kongers who ditched Hong Kong for UK are now regreting their move. Understand Hong Kong people rather suffer quietly than lose their face saving pride, so everything must be fine.
Moreover, the special treatment of Ukrainians in UK is facing a backlash as UK hosts have now found out that the 350 sterling grant to households are not enough to cover the cost of hosting whole Ukrainian families, with food and energy prices spiking. Now many Ukrainian refugees have been thrown out on to the streets by their host. Of course they will show on MSM how wonderful some UK host are feeling about hosting Ukrainian families. It never fails to amaze me how the MSM can still think that selective reporting can hide the truth.
