Ukraine - Americans started it but blame the Russians

WASHINGTON: Russia's war in Ukraine is to blame for exacerbating "already dire" world food insecurity, with price and supply shocks adding to global inflationary pressures, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said on Tuesday (Apr 19).

Even before the war, over 800 million people - or 10 per cent of the global population - were suffering from chronic food insecurity, Yellen said, and estimates showed higher food prices alone could push at least 10 million more people into poverty.

Yellen told a high-level panel countries should avoid export bans that could further boost prices, while stepping up support for vulnerable populations and smallholder farmers, a message underscored by German Finance Minister Christian Lindner.

"I want to be clear: Russia’s actions are responsible for this," Yellen said, adding that the United States was working urgently with partners and allies to "help mitigate the effects of Russia’s reckless war on the world’s most vulnerable".

Russia calls its Feb 24 invasion a "special military operation" to "denazify" Ukraine.

Lindner, speaking on behalf of Group of Seven (G7) advanced economies, said targeted and coordinated action was needed, but called on all countries to "keep agricultural markets open, not stockpile and not withhold stocks, and not impose unjustified export restrictions on agricultural products or nutrients".

Of course, it is very easy to put each and every blame upon the Russians. They simply are not able to bite back.

But, the facts are that whatever blames that they have levied upon the victims of this Ukrainian War, imposed by the Americans and the Little Britain, are pure lies and deceptions, nothing else.

These are pure, simple and nasty lies!

  1. The USA already had massive problems with inflation and rising prices well before the Ukraine War, and they probably took this opportunity to start the war to push all the blame on Putin and Russia. Biden blamed Russia for USA's inflation on oil and gas, when in reality he and his predecessors were instrumental in starting the inflation train with their money printing of trillions by Biden to fight COVID19 and Build Back Better plan, that fell by the wayside. On the other hand the money had been printed and it is now causing all the mayhem that is befalling the USA. Raising interest rates will make the situation more catastrophic.

Nothing is more apparent than the unrestrained printing of fiat money that caused the inflation, but this is never even accepted as the main reason, instead directing the blame to nonsensical issues. They avoided mention of it because they think decades of printing their fiat money caused issues that were none the worse, when it gets dispersed all over the world, thus exporting USA inflation to the global community. The USA unilaterally benefitted from the mass printing over the decades, but the whole world suffers their inflation. Any other country doing the same will suffer immediate massive inflation and not getting away for decades like the USA.

The last couple of years saw big countries doing deals away from the US$ - Iran with China, Russia with China among others, and this is causing the USA inflation issues at home as demand for US$ globally falters. It will be worse going forward and Biden, in order to divert attention away from issues at home is going to escalate the war in Ukraine. More so now that the mid term is in November and Biden is desperate to improve his approval rating.

And the UK, the attack dog in chief, is trying very hard to pull India to their side. India should be aware of where their future lies and do not get involved in Europe where they have no plausible reason to, and in doing so antagonise Russia, and destroy their good relationship for decades. Doing so would not be good for India's future in Asia, especially India's demand for oil, gas and commodities, which the UK cannot replace. After all, they should not forget the bitter memories of how they were treated at the hands of the British before. Biden on the other hand is practically unable to solve domestic issues right now and even the geniuses in Washington have no clue how to.

While the rest of East Asia still harbours deep grudge against Japan for what had been done to them during WW2, India must not be the exception to forgive the Brits so easily. South Korea just fumed over the Japanese PM making ritual offerings to war criminals at the Yasukuni Shrine. Asians have long memories.

Another piece of news concerns the attempt by Kim and his Southern counterpart to improve relations. This is not good news for the USA and it's lapdog, Japan. They will sabotage the attempt for sure.

  3. Any good news for the North is not necessarily good news for the South.

Any rapprochement by the South towards the North is never good news for the South.

That's the way it was. That's the way it is. And that's the way it's going to be, unless Somebody can do something to the unequal equation that has been imposed upon the Korean People by the Evil US Empire.

  4. The US is also sharing “significant timely intelligence” with Kiev and coordinating weapons shipments from allies and partners, “sending them directly to the front lines of freedom,” in Biden’s words.

Some 18 towed howitzers, 200 obsolete armored personnel carriers and 100 humvees are already on the way to Ukraine, and the US military is training a small group of Ukrainian troops in their use, in an unspecified third country.

Hahaha, sending obsolete weapons to Ukraine and making Ukraine pay for them.

  5. Anon 2.51. I don't know if you were trying answer my question, but your answer even more unclear. Who is the someone who is supposed to make the equation equal? China, Russia, or Japan?
I think it is better if people don't try to answer in cryptic and oblique sentences in order to sound more insightful. Just answer directly lah. We don't need to talk bullshit like the angmo.
