SMRT hit by bad luck again

The problems of SMRT did not seem to want to go away. We thought with the new and very good CEO in place, all the past problems of SMRT would be history. The new CEO has also been credited and praised for the improving quality of the train service.

Just last week, two accidents hit the SMRT again. One is an act of God, strong winds and trees fell on all places but a group of SMRT having a party in a park. Why would God want to do this, like He is picking on SMRT workers? The tree could fall anywhere, but must fall on the SMRT workers, not other people in the park. If this is not bad luck, what is? Oh, such accidents cannot be attributed to poor management and work process surely.

Then another worker had his leg amputated on the track by a maintenance vehicle. How could this happen when they were working and knowing the danger of moving vehicle on the track after the last accident that took at least one life? Never learn from bad experience and incidents? Cannot be, after the last tragedy, everyone must be very alert and extremely careful about workers on track. Many procedures must have been put in place to prevent a recurring of such tragedy.

Yet it happened again almost in the same manner, workers on track and hit by moving vehicle on track. No one at the site saw it coming and unable to stop it? There is no need to set up a BOI or make statements like we would make sure it would not happen again.

The only reason I can think of is bad luck. And if it is bad luck  it would not go away but would happen again and again. I would recommend more prayers and exorcism to cleanse the tracks to prevent more bad luck happening to SMRT workers. But I dunno what to do about trees falling on SMRT workers. Maybe prayers would also be needed to bless all SMRT workers, starting from the top. How about rearranging the office layout of the CEO? Call a geomancer. It just might work.

  1. Probably deep seated culture unable to remove. No amount of blessings or fengshui or chanting of mantra/sutra/quran/bible/vedics or entire universe chants can help, it's that old habits die hard & mindset issues & cultural problems that plagued the corps with bad management & leadership. How can people suffers & certain corps staffs enjoyed the occasion with huat ah attitudes & fares increases? Probably the One p there is very angry as He sees many people suffers.

  2. Cut the Top Hanchos' pay by 50% and forfeit any bonuses. This would work wonders.

Even the vengeful spirits (those who committed suicides on MRT tracks) might be assuaged and happy.

No amounts of prayers and m9momoh exorcisms can work. Only way is cut pay and bonuses.

  3. Cut all ministers pay n bonuses by half & half of the Self-Inflicted problems will be solved.
Peg ministerial total renumeration to about 10 times of pay of hawkers, taxi drivers, teachers, policemen, NS men, Accounts clerk, nurses, etc...almost all self- inflicted costs problems will be resolved.
YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU VOTE FOR Lah.

  4. Singapore 60 yrs political history has proven:
    1. Low to mediocre ministerial pay can result in superlative performance n competence as proven by the likes of 1st generation ministers in the likes of GKS, LKS, Rajaratnam, EW Barker, etc.
    2. World highest ministerial pay can result in incompetence n many cock-ups as proven by the mismatched between the infrastructure provisions n the aggressive FT intake policy, appointing of blur Smrt CEO Ms Saw, Top fund buy high sell low mgr, escape of top terrorist Mat Selamat, etc.
As they said, Performance does not commersurate with compensation is quite true in Sinkieland.
We are still benefiting from 1st generational efforts, but once they are sucked dry, the citizens will be very jia luck.

  5. The reason: Management/ministers are too highly paid, think too highly of themselves, too arrogant, cannot understand lower level problems, only know how to play office polictics but cannot solve actual problems but actual work performed by lower level people who are lowly paid and highly stressed.

  7. While RB is invoking intercession by the supernatural..don't forget the blessings to bestow on all our government agencies n hangerons especially GIC/TEMASICK..the financial imponderances far far outweigh the mishaps at SMRT.. also wish the aging population of Singapore many many flower baths and a speedy return of their CPF...

Aiyo, why not change to topics such as on the festives - Xmas, NY, CNY ... and year end holidays experiences/ encounters...?

Talking about that, the mind drifted to uncle Virgo49 πŸ‘Ά because the experience was at Genting πŸŒŒπŸŒ πŸŒπŸŒšπŸŒžπŸŒœπŸŒ›. Specifically, the fried chicken at the Marry Brown outlet in Genting. It was so good πŸ‘πŸ˜πŸ˜šπŸ˜‹πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘. And for 2 huge pieces, only a few RM (less than RM10). Such food will make one crave for it in the dream ...

The Kampung chicken not so good though, very skinny, no meat (probably walk here walk there running around the village too much) so NOT attracted to it at all (give free also dw not interested).

The famous Chinatown chicken at the food street not bad though, the meat soft and tender. Put one piece with skin into the mouth quite oily and slippery. The sensation in the mouth quite good. Dip into some of the sauce lagi good. Super delectable!!! Yum πŸ˜‹ The chilli taste like punchy super spicy chilli padi ... Tak Boleh Tahan but got a lot of kick.

The ice cream outlet below Uniqlo also not bad. Sit there for 2 hours can savour mouth ice cream and eyes ice cream also ...?

Only "regret" is fail to bump into/ meet uncle πŸ˜–πŸ˜©πŸ˜¨ ...

    Cheers πŸŒ²πŸŽ†πŸŽ‡πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠπŸ˜Έ

That is true. The living and the dead are fighting for space.

  10. There's a joyous X'mas and New Year festive mood inside the train cabins when taking SMRT this period.

But for those going overseas for holidays, please plan the places that you want to visit carefully.

Lack of careful holiday planning can lead to the following situation:

  12. Why need a COI? When things happen again and again it will become normal. Just like having floods once in 50 years and now we have 50 floods in one year.

And MRT accidents and breakdowns are also becoming the norm if they just let it happen again and again. It is the new normal. That is why they let army generals run the MRT system like the army camp drills.

I wonder why 50 years is so auspicious, like needing 50 years to count the reserves, 50 years to have floods, celebrating 50 years of independence.

//When they built the MRT rail networks, they disturbed many burial grounds. The spirits are striking back!//

This is a possible theory. This year 22 Dec is 冬至. Traditional Chinese ancestors worship date. Technically, spirits could be out plus/ minus a few days.

Mathematically, for a tree (out of a few millions) to crash at the time (out of a few seconds in a year), at the place (Sembawang Constituency Park out of tens of thousands of location) where a certain group of people are (again out of tens of thousands of possible location at any point in time) is extremely low ... much lower than striking this Wed 4d first prize?

In traditional belief, this could be an ominous sign?

Big trees crashed (2 in fact) could mean what?

Who else are based in those Sembawang/ neighbouring areas?

However, all these are just personal opinion. Traditional belief often does not have scientific basis. But then there are many things that science cannot explain. Existence of science may not mean the non-existence of other things?

    Correct?

Nobody knows what could happen next?
