Scoot Mayday, RSAF F15 scrambled

Man fined $4,500 for Scoot bomb hoax. This was the headline of thenewpaper yesterday. When I read the content I could not even cry, could not even laugh. My jaw dropped in disbelief. This is another classic story of stupidity has no cure for the record. I will just state the facts as reported in thenewpaper and let you guys wonder what it was all about.

A man, Hsu Chun Meng, was flying off to HatYai on a Scoot flight. His hand luggage was too big to fit into the overhead luggage compartment and the stewardess told him he had to check in his baggage. She also asked him if he had any prohibited items in the bag. He replied, ‘Nothing, only bombs.’ The stewardess stared at him and he replied, ‘No bomb lah. Joking. How can it be?’

When the plane was about to take off, the stewardess reported the incident to the cabin crew in charge. The latter tried to contact the captain but unable to do so as the flight was about to take off and the cockpit door was locked.

She only managed to talk to the captain after take off and the captain followed the established protocol, made a Mayday call and flew the aircraft back to Singapore. The plane was carrying 179 passengers. A fighter aircraft was scrambled to escort it back.

The man was subsequently charged and fined $4,500 for the bomb hoax.

These were the facts. Over to you guys. Laugh if you can, cry if you want.

Stupidity has no cure? What do you think?

Key points. If it was a real bomb and not a hoax. If it was a joke….

  1. If the Stewdaress asked him to check in luggage, then it must be brought and store in the aircraft baggge hokd or compartment.

So, she should have tell the Aircraft crew to check and reject it. No need take off and then escorted back.

Why she did not do so???

Thst's why they don't need scams now. Exams or no exams also duda.

    SMART nation in deed.

  2. Frankly, now first pain Starhub retrenched 300. More to come in weeks and Months.

Every Minister needs to make as much as possible. To quality 14 mths for Monster, oops Minister.

So RSAF also needed to earn for Defence Ministry.

In checking in, please refrain from mouthing the dreaded FOUR OR FIVE letter words "Bombs".

These DUDS are real jumpy and paranoid.

They took them real serious. One joker just proclaimed that Handphones can be made into guns and all hand phone needed to be scanned.

Another nutty professor woke up wrong side of bed said explosives can be water and hair cream or even KY cream. All water and creams confiscated.

One detect batteries in clocks and vibrators and demanded to open your luggage.

Aido, so shameful to show all in public the Vibrators just for some dirty fun.

    That's why now I don't take plates.

By the way, now compulsory must check in baggge of 7 kgs and above.

  3. This is the typical Singapore way. Singaporeans should be used to this by now. Stupidity indeed has no cure. Singapore has recently become the laughing stock of the world. HAHAHA

  4. How come need to escort the plane back? If there is a bomb on board, what can the fighter jet pilot do? Shoot it down if it does not turn back? He will probably stay a mile away. Stupidity number 1.

Now, if there is indeed a bomb, do you think the bomber will allow the plane to be escorted back for him to face the death penalty without accomplishing his plan. He will make sure the bomb goes off and he is ready to die himself. Stupidity number 2.

It the bomber wanted to detonate the bomb in flight, would he allow the stewardess to contact the pilot to turn the plane back? Stupidity number 3.

  5. The word "bomb" is taboo when in airplanes . . .

  6. About Starhub retrenchment. Not to worry because eventually all telcos will come under Singtel.

Too much competition is not good for Singtel itself if it is not good for Starhub. This whole episode of opening up is all wayang.

Childcare, coffeeshops, taxis and soon buses will all be run by NTUC eventually. They just change the rules, slowly and discreetly, just like the CPF rules without anybody the wiser. The PAP wants people to complain, give negative feedbacks so they can change the law to gain control of everything, even smoking inside their HDB flats, which they paid for but still owned by the Government.

  7. Yup, the word 'bomb' is taboo.

Even the HDB lease 'timebomb' will be outlawed when the arguments become too intense and they lose the propaganda battle. But they will win the war by using the law. Same with the CPF 'timebomb'.

  8. When the word bomb was mentioned, it should be reported immediately, man arrested, bag checked for bomb.

How could they let the plane take off and then did all the stupid things?

If there was a bomb, once the plane is airborne, it is too late.

What kind of training and procedure were given to the staff on bomb threat?

    This incident is sooooo ridiculous.

  9. Hello Bro Anon 9.40

If that guy is suicide bomber, he would NOT disclose to that FOREIGN talent stwedaress that there are bombs in the luggage.

Also, you think you can bring on board when you had already passed thru sometimes two or three times screwty checks.

Why ask you have any prohibited item?? Bombs very big meh??

Shoe hidden explosives can even bring a plane down.

The protocol for the fighter plane escort is when real emergency, the pilot will shoot the other pilot down with the passengers before it touches down.

This is to safeguard the Airport's safety. So your lives are NOT worth any cent if this scenario happen.

Nowadays, most air passengers very gian png. They want to save baggage charges. Many brought luggages that can even put a corpse in the luggage compartment.

That's why this frustrated guy cannot put his. Just make a joke of it.

The stwedaress should know that it is impossible after Sinkieland Land kia soo Screwety Checks that bombs can be smuggled thru.

    Asking stupid questions.Maybe itchy ah??

Just tried yesterday to book by Jetstar to KLIA and found that compulsory 7 kgs check in baggage.

Also good lah. Go in late you have no space for your backpacks.

  12. Sinkiekand Ministers chia pak boh sai parn.

That's why they can expend all their energies how to have 14 months bonus.

Even WP agreed to their wages formula.

Now they tell you kena molested or soto mise in MRT. God help you.

Our screwty ankors not trained to nab them.

    Sigh

  13. The man was fined $4500 for his "alarming" joke. But the air stewardess got off scott free. She failed to take the necessary action, whether joke or no joke, before the plane took off. Her excuse of the cockpit door closed is no excuse. This is an emergency. There is an emergency contact means from cabin crew to the pilot and vice versa. Why she did not use it there and then. Instead she allowed the plane to take off and had to be escorted back by fighter jet.

She should be fined double what the joker paid in order to compensate for the fuel used and the fighter plane escort. And to teach all cabin crew a lesson.

If a bomb is suspected while the plane is still on the ground, at no time should the plane be allowed to take off! This is the International Aviation Law. The air stewardess breached this law. She should be sacked or grounded. No excuse. No leniency.

Precious time wasted, if bombs are real. Hundreds, if not thousands, of lives were at stake. Other aircrafts were at risk.

Why she is not punished? Give her a medal instead?

  14. The scoot using what signal set? 800 series? 900 series? 8 km range only? Must activate F15 as wireless repeater?

Peasant will be peasant. Read my previous post. If Singapore is maybe like that, other country also maybe like that? Let just be peasant. Please dont join in any massive road march in Taiwan or Thailand.

  16. I beg to differ. This is a good procedure. It energise our fighter pilots who would otherwise have nothing to do but stunts on national day. This incident gives them some exciting fun, at that point in time, the fighter pilots only information is there is a bomb threat, do intercept. And they scramble like shit, this is what they are paid for and it is excellent real life exposure, and they succeeded well. We know our air force is super good, from this incident and not jiak liao bees. Majulah Sg.

  19. @ men will be men,

Good boys go to heaven. Bad boys go to Hatyai 🤣

It was reported in the news, our "hero/ comedian" was on the way to Hatyai

"The court heard that Hsu boarded flight TR634 from Singapore to Hat Yai, Thailand, with two friends at about 12.55pm on April 5 this year."

3 guys on their way to Hat Yai, on a Thursday afternoon. Hmmm... I think they were fucky-sucky sex tourists. Anyway, now he kena "pecah lobang" if he/ they were trying to do this trip without their girlfriends/ wives finding out. I think this stunt would have cost our "comedian" more than than the $4500 fine.

I think HE is the one who got fucked..up the ass! 🤡

  20. How can Interpol Chief go missing for 7 days already and yet Interpol is taking it easy?

Is he going undercover? If so, then why did his wife reported him missing?

Is he dead? Murdered or assassinated?

  22. WW III - United World Against United States

India defies the US's threat of sanctions to go ahead to purchase $5 billion worth of the advanced S400 Surface-to-Air Missiles System.

Last month, the US has unilaterally imposed sanctions on China for purchasing the same weapons system from Russia.
