DBS has reported that the foreign talent employee, a local from India,
who posted a picture in facebook of a torn Singapore flag is no longer
with DBS. This means he is not in DBS Singapore or DBS India or DBS
anywhere else.
The posting by Avijit Das Patnaik stirred strong nationalist feelings
among Singaporeans for violating their pride in Singapore as a nation.
Some even threatened to close their DBS accounts. Hopefully this episode
ends here and would not be repeated by any foreign talents be they
local or not. There are several lessons to be learnt from this episode.
As I mentioned earlier, Singaporeans should not begrudged this Patnaik
for his strong feeling and pride for being an Indian national. He should
be proud of his motherland, India. Otherwise he would lose all respect
as an Indian citizen. At least he can still be proud to be called an
Indian, a patriot.
Many foreigners that are here are like Patnaik, be they locals, PRs or
new citizens. This is a natural thing. Many of these foreigners came
from big countries or bigger than this red dot and have strong ties and
pride for their nation. They have long history and rich culture, not like our rojak dunno what way of life. They cannot be easily bought over by monetary
incentives. They are not mercenaries.
Our little boys and girls must take note of this. Foreign nationals are
not cheapskates, at least most of them, that they would betray their
country and their nationalities just because we threw some money in
their face. While there are Singaporeans who have this kind of thought,
that money is everything, their childishness must not be used to
influence govt policies. Money is not everything to these foreigners
though it may mean a lot to some Singaporeans. Such Singaporeans are
shameless and likely to sell their father and mother if given enough
money, definitely their integrity and principles and their country.
Luckily many Singaporeans still have some pride in belonging to this
island that resulted in an instantaneous uproar when their national flag
was abused. Hopefully the naïve and childish boys and girls would wake
up to the fact that a nation, a country and citizenship to a country is
not something to be trifled with, to be compromised because of money. We
don’t need foreigners that could be easily bought over by our money.
Such foreigners or quitters that would quit from their country would
quit from here when the situation changed. Call them locals or citizens
but deep down inside them, many are still loyal to their motherland and
Singapore is just a place to make money before they return home when
time is ripe.
The simplicity in the thinking of our boys and girls is frightening and
dangerous to the well being of our nation and our citizens. Patnaik has
done Singapore a good service by telling the boys and girls to wake up
from their foolishness. The foreigners don’t belong here, would not want
to belong here, except for a few. They don’t call this piece of rock
home. Stop wasting public money on the foreigners and giving them good
jobs at the expense of Singaporeans.
Betrayals and trators of Singapore and Singaporeans must be executed by a firing squad in public view. Then nobody would blatantly do it openly and repeatedly like a habitual hobby. It is a very serious contagious disease that cannot be cured once infected. Therefore, the only way is to exterminate them like pests.

Its the sg leaders that first betrayed the sg people by letting lots of foreigners here to take away our jobs and boss us around and thus many of us ended up living in exile in canzuk or died a painful death. They, the sg leaders, should be the first ones to be exxxxxxxxx.

What about Ministry of Home Affairs action on the many who "liked" Patnaik's insult-Singapore-flag post on Facebook ?
All those who "liked" Patnaik's post should be sacked (by employer), fined and jailed (by police), passport revoked and sent back home (by MHA).

There's nothing wrong about the shallow, meaningless pride that shallow meaningless people claim to hold for their MotherCUNTry.
This cum stain just did it the wrong way: he professed his devotion to his shithole cuntry at the expense of Singapore by denigrating it and vandalizing the flag. So if he got fucked, he was the one who put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger.
What an asshole. 🤣
Right you are. YOU ASKED FOR IT!

Reported on TODAY News:
ReplyDeleteA 17-year-old has been arrested for purportedly vandalising several Singapore flags and vehicle emblems at residential estates in Tanjong Katong since last month, the police said yesterday.
TODAY understands residents of Parkstone Drive, Goodman Road and Crescent Road were among those who had complained about damage to the flags hung outside their homes or to the emblems of vehicles parked along the road.
The youth was arrested on Sunday and investigations are ongoing. A convicted vandal can be jailed for up to three years or fined up to S$2,000, and caned between three and eight times.
Ms Connie Sales, a 32-year-old domestic helper working at Parkstone Drive, said she left her employer’s house to walk the dog on Sunday when she noticed a Singapore flag hung at their gate missing. It was found tucked at a neighbour’s window, she said, adding that it was their second encounter with such an incident.
Madam Judy Lui, 70, who lives in the same house, said their CCTV recording showed a figure dressed in black removing the flag at 1am that day. Several other households in the area said their flags were removed, with some thrown in dustbins and drains.
One of the residents, Mrs Arlene Alegre-Wood, said she felt very upset by the incident.
“It’s having no respect for a country where the citizens have so much national pride,” she said:
“When I was a kid, nobody would ever dare to do that.”
WHY?
To called and named FOREIGNERS as LOCALS, already tell you the deceptive intent of the we paid you millions a year PuiiBic (public) servants from taxpayer monies.

By showing disrespect to the national flag of Singapore, Patnaik deserved the punishment meted out to him. He will regret his foolish act for the rest of his life. PM Lee's laissez faire policy on FTs is to be blamed. The level of xenophobia and jingoism have increased in proportion to the increase in foreigners stealing our lunch. All that is needed is a spark to trigger off anti-foreigner feeling. Patnaik provided that spark.
ReplyDeleteB, lucky u used xxx....for your last word. If not u sure Kena invited to drink Kopi as it's considered inciting violence. Why the Double Standard?
ReplyDeleteCan you all remember Michael Fay?
Michael Peter Fay (born May 30, 1975), better known simply as Michael Fay, is a United States citizen who was the subject of international attention in 1994 when he was sentenced to six strokes of the cane in Singapore for vandalism at age 18.
Although caning is a routine court sentence in Singapore, its use caused controversy in the United States, and Fay's case was believed to be the first caning involving an American citizen.
The number of cane strokes in Fay's sentence was ultimately reduced from six to four after United States President Clinton requested leniency.
Singapore not afraid of offending USA and China, but afraid of offending India?
Is Singapore controlled by India or pro-India leaders?
Isn't this case too obvious?
ReplyDeleteWhy put a foreigner as CEO of DBS and other government linked companies. The bank like all other local banks viz OCBC, UOB, Singapore Bank and Chartered Bank was founded by Singaporeans with Singapore capital. It has been well managed by highly qualified Singaporeans. All the systems have been superbly set up and all the business connections whether local or overseas have been built up by Singaporeans. Every section and department of the bank is headed by highly qualified personnels like accountants, lawyers and administrators so much so that even if the CEO goes on one year leave the bank can still run very smoothly and profitably.
But suddenly they claim Singapore has no banking or commercial talents. So they had to put a foreigner there and this foreigner has been paid tens of millions every year at the expense of Singaporeans and Singaporean tax payers. Worst still this foreigner has seen fit to import lots of his native tribes to fill various positions in the head office and all the branches of the bank at the expense of blue Singaporeans and citizens.
We don't really understand. Why do they do such things? Why do they want to deprive blue Singaporeans of job opportunities in our local banks and commercial concerns. It is like ill-treating your own children but cajoling to others.
Basically something has gone gravely wrong somewhere. Singaporeans have better wake up before it is too late.
A patriot and pro Blue Singaporean. Eagles Eyes
With CECA in place, soon Sin would become a state of India.
ReplyDeletePresident of the Republic of Singapore is Indian.
ReplyDeleteChief Justice I'd Indian.

Minister of Foreign Affairs is Indian.
President of Law Society is Indian.
Chief of Opposition (Workers' Party) is Indian.
All these key and vital positions are filled proportionately by Indians.
Singapore is becoming a part of India?
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteCorrection:
ReplyDeleteAll these key and vital positions are filled DIS-proportionately by Indians.
I tried to find out exactly how many Indian nationals are in Singapore, whether As PR or citizens, or temporary employees, managers or consultants, or CEOs. But the only data I could get is this:
ReplyDeleteAs of 2010, there were 237,473 Indian Singapore citizens, or 7.35% of the citizen population. There were 110,646 Indian PRs, or 20.45% of the PR population. In total, ethnic Indians formed 348,119, or 9.23% of the 'resident' population of citizens and PRs.
What happens to the data since 2010?
Why the blackout? What is there to fear that the public knowing such statistics?
Is there a quiet invasion by Indian nationals to take over Singapore?
Much as some feared China influencing Chinese Singaporeans, the greater fear should be Foreign Indians taking over control of Singapore with local leaders of Indian nationality and Indian descents, is it not?
Are we now really multi-racial and multi-cultural? Or are we now gliding smoothly and speedily towards a vassal state of India?
Japan needs more efforts to better ties with China, contribute to regional peace. PM Abbe will be replaced with a more sensible Japanese leader.
ReplyDeleteOnce Japan, Korea and China unite, leaders of countries like Singapore will be in deep shits.
On Aug. 30 Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Cote d'Ivoire's President Alassane Ouattara in Beijing, and the two leaders agreed to promote bilateral ties to a higher level and achieve mutual benefit and win-win situations.
ReplyDeleteRecently, many countries are gyrating towards China, while Singapore is moving further and further away. Why?
The Indian CEO of DBS should also be sack. Singaporeans must start to take back control of all our national assets. No foreigners should be allowed to sit in any key position of any of our national assets, public or private. Period.
ReplyDeleteHo Jinx not only buy high sell low actually our taxpayer/national money behind a "private firm" veil but allowed DBS, Standard Chartered Bank, etc to be infested by foreign Indians from as high as CEO to admin officers. This must be reversed.
ReplyDeleteSingapore should evolve into a political system where power does not rest upon the Prime Minister ALONE.
ReplyDeleteThe present system of a Team (Cabinet) led by the Prime Minister does not work well mainly because the other members' performances are appraised by the PM who decides on their "hire and fire" as well as the yearly bonuses and promotions, exactly like in the Civil Service. This gives the PM absolute power upon all the other members of the Cabinet.
Therefore, how can it be called a Parliamentary Democracy? There is no Democracy in any form. Let alone in essence.
The Pioneer Batch of Leaders were Men of Equal Strength,Minds and Calibres of their own.
ReplyDeleteThey, just nominate LKY to be the Leader in a hurry as survival of the Nation were at stake at that time.
Many of them could be the PM. However, many appointed as Ministers had policies of their own even in contention and not agreeagble to the PM.
That's you have LKS foregoing his salary as Housing Minister.
GKS, as Interior And Defence Minister have NS Men priorty in selecting the Estates and ballot for flats when they registered for marriage.
You think the Present Crop of Parrots dared to implement these policies.
LKY been a Hakka, One Cent like Bullock Cart will allow this??
One Cent cut into Four Pieces Mentality.
Present lot of Yes Men and Women are like employees been interviewed for Appointments.
They dared opposed the Boss??
That's why you must have a Strong Opposition to counter any damaging Policies that hurt the Citizens.
Unfortunately, ours is disunited and those in became their Second Party.
Been fed with more than enough they already lost their Voices.
The same as those hyporcites Union Leaders in any Organisations who are also well fed by the Management and had also lost their Voices for their follow workers.
Hopefully Singapore Harapan can make inroads and changes.
You guys would be naive to think that there is only one or just a handful of Patnaiks in our midst.
ReplyDeleteThere are millions of them here, some already in, decades ago and still alien in their loyalties despite holding a red ic.
Patnaik will not be the first, nor the last.
Is he still in Spore or conveniently been placed into another position without any loss of income? And yes, what happened to the rest of the patnaiks? Only investigate one case when it was reported that many also posted the torn flags?
ReplyDelete@ 1047
ReplyDeleteEvolutionary processes are deterministic. They are temporal and involve the intergration of cause and effect of many mechanisms.
In politics, the main driver is culture. A nation's political system is a result of the peoples' culture. This is why you don't get Scandanavian-style politics in China, and vice versa. Those cultures differ widely. This is also why trying to FORCE democracy into cuntries where the culture doesn't hold those values is likely to fail, and result in violent struggle. The fights are not political as much as as they are cultural. This is also why stupid UN "philosophy" like the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is just plain fucking wrong when it clashes with cultures based more on tribal hierarchies.
Singapore is no different. Our culture is such, and thus supports our political system. We like structure. We like authority because it removes the "guesswork" in what we can and can't do.
Being predominanantly Chinese with a high degree of western influences, and an exceptional degree of western education, we have evolved a "Confucian-based" political system, integrated with Western Enlightenment Values like "republicanism", open markets, the pursuit of knowledge, and the "free market of ideas" etc. This is the essence of PERANAKAN CULTURE---Straits born, embracing the work-ethic, thrift and family-centricism of Chinese/ Asian culture, modified by western education, the adoption of English, and the legal systems derived from English Common Law.
So we have all those "goodies" from western culture, under the umbrella of "central control by a governing elite" (In Confucious's day you had to pass exams to join the govt). That is the "natural outcome" for our culture.
