Singapore’s problems are all self inflicted

Singapore is facing a lot of problems that would snowball into a disaster if the policies causing them are not stopped quickly. The serious problems bugging Singapore are high cost of living, high inflation, high property and rental prices, high car prices, high transportation cost, high PMET unemployment, shortage of space, shortage of water, shortage of energy etc etc. The thing is that these problems would not be there if the govt does not blow to high population balloon.

Think of the time of Adam and Eve. They have the whole earth to themselves. They have plentiful of everything, literally did not have to work a day with the wealth of the earth to themselves. No shortage of land and space, no food shortage, no water shortage etc etc.

In Singapore the situation is reverse. 6m people in a tiny piece of rock and more coming in with some jokers claiming that it is good to have 10m, 20m or more. For what I dunno. Is the purpose of a piece of land is to fill it to the brim with people so that they end up killing each other for a bit more space?

Singapore is a tropical island with rainfall all round the year. We used to have three tiny reservoirs in the central catchment area that have enough water for everyone. Now we have more than 15 reservoirs and each is bigger than the 3 reservoirs combined, and still not enough water. And every donkey is braying that water is precious and we need to teach people how valuable and scarce water is and people must be made to pay a high price for water. That is not the end. We even conned the people that they should be drinking shit water because we don’t have enough water. And they have to invest heavily in equipment and technology to recycle shit water for consumption when we have one of the highest rainfall in the world, a tropical island paradise that rains, no, monsoons, water pouring down from the sky like cats and dogs, except for some rare dry seasons. And we have shortage of water? How, why?

There is no reason for Singaporeans to be crying for more water, to pay so much for water that is free, coming down from the sky, and to be forced to drink shit water. There is no reason why we have no space for bigger homes. There is no reason why car prices are so high, and so few people can own cars as a proportion to the population of the island. In the 60s, it was so easy to own a car and so much space to drive around.

All our problems are self created, self inflicted and could only get worse over the years till the day we self destruct by implosion, because of bad and stupid policies of squeezing more people onto this piece of tiny rock. No one can blow a balloon incessantly without it exploding.

Stupidity has no cure.

  2. Nobody can tackle the PAP. Only the PAP can tackle everybody

Just like in a rugby game, if one side is overwhelmingly strong, like giants and the other side is totally powerless, like tiny nymphs, then the giants-like will keep bull-dozing its way to score goals after goals, until the goal posts also break and fall.

Then nobody would want to play with those giants any more. Then the giants would have to play amongst themselves. Then they will score their own goals. Self-destruct!

In Singapore, it looks like to the strong-headed quick-money easy-money scholar millionaires, not afraid of making unpopular policies has become the norm instead if exception. Bull-dozing many unpopular policies against the interests of the people (therefore, also the country, because without people the country is just a piece of vacant land) but erroneously, cunningly and self-deceitedly projected as "for the good of the country". So, without a strong opposition alternative government to oppose and defeat the giant-like bull-dozers, and form a alternative government like in Malaysia, then the only solution is to wait for the whole system to collapse on its own weight. Self-destruct!

This is the only way to GO! No choice. Will be extremely painful and chaotic when the time comes. Not too long to wait. All the signs are already there. The signs are even manifesting in the surrounding countries, especially Singapore's closest neighbours, Indonesia and Malaysia. Also around the world - especially China, India, Russia, Europe and USA.

Internally, the biggest and most distinct signs are the huge losses suffered by Temasek Hidings (keep high critical facts from the stakeholders, the people) and GIC (stands for Global Investments Cover-up).

The implosion will not happen at this juncture. It will only happen after the change of leadership

  3. Rb, the main reason why Govt pushing all these as they wanted a large gdp so that we are able to punch above our weight. Imagine a country with less than 5 million people our gdp is larger than Vietnam with a population of 90 million.

  4. The citizens ATM will run dry.
Their buy high sell low will deplete the trillion reserves.
Above their assumptions will go wrong. USA all out trade war will finally result in a global depression resulting in huge supply chains disruptions, globalization will be in super reversal. Paper generals adopted striaght line thinking assuming increased in global trade. More FT population will only make the pain much worst extreme pain.
Though however the elites will likely migrate to NZ n Australia with their millions n maybe even billions amassed.

You want 10 millions to share your scarity of land, jobs, water and other resources??

You want 90 millons of Papuers roaming in your neighbour hood ready to rob, rape andk
    Killed your family??

You must be schooled in the Pay And Pay moronic philosophy.

Must have a big POP just to punch above your weight??

Better to have a small outfit to share enough bread and better even in bad times, rather than to have a large number to kill each other just for the scraps to survive.

Down the road you will have the police cars sirens blaring day and night and hiding behind the walls wating for off duty whilst the plungering and murdering goes on when there be massive unemployment and all fight for survivals.

  6. Think that the G is not totally to be blamed cos the people voted for them & its the people who asked for it! A Long already said it clearly it's the people who voted his party in to solve the people problems wat. Some more all of his pioneer teachers, masters & leaders r all gone, there isn't any one as worthy to convince or persuade or advise him to change the G policies. U see someboLee blame it on its people but unable to see or admit its own problems, it's like karma or universal law of cause & effect ( chinese sayings 如是因 感如是果, or u reap wat u sow). Got to pity Long Lah as his parents r all gone & nobolee is gonna be there to advice or guide him la, it wud be better if he can find someone more capable than him to do the job by the next erection, else Sinkieland will be like Argentina team being eliminated in the World Cup just by depending on his captain Messy to do the job is not good enough Liao la.

  7. Aside from the problems mentioned by RB, the other more critical problem are the lease of HDB flats and their residual value upon expiration of the 99 year lease.

Why do they suddenly stopped harping on the increase in asset value of HDB flats and continue using the upgrading carrots to buy votes? Because they know daft Sinkies will wake up somehow, someday when somebody finds out that upgrading did not help his dream of value appreciation when he tried to sell his 50 years old flat. That time bomb is waiting to go off.

The other big problem is funding CPF payments to retirees, foreigners and home buyers that will empty out the monthly contributions. They are devising more schemes to keep the haemorrhaging CPF pyramid from toppling. Well, it will unlikely topple, only that members in the worst case scenario might just get what creditors get in bankruptcy situations.

These are big big problems on top of what is coming from the man who even quarrels with his shadow appearing up North. He is seeking revenge against all and sundry, friend or foe, like the lawless wild wild West coming to the East.

  8. Just last week acted as one of the Witness of Two as required by the HDB for a lease buyback scheme for a friend.

He had a balance lease of 51 years of his 3-roomed flat out of the 99 year.

The first 25 years of his staying in till their requirement of at least 97 years were not been brought back by the Board.

They only buy back the tail end of 21 years of balance lease which is only a fraction of your balance 51 years.

Thus, you can only capitalise a portion of their buy back scheme.

The 25 years that you are staying in is not your so called Capital Enhancement or Assets.

Thus, you only have about 200K out of which nearly three quarters have to be channelled to a CPF's Life Scheme. Compulsory.

Anyway, as a bachelor, enough to stay alive.

Thus, your assets enhancements are not so attractive after all as promised by them.

  9. If I'm in control of S'pore, I will also behave like PAP and import 10M foreigners in to boost GDP, suppress wages, increase corporate profits, increase taxes. Singapore becomes like a cash cow & giant factory for me to squeeze more milk & more meat.

If I stay in Bt Timah bungalows or Orchard Boulevard bungalows, 10M or 20M population also no difference --- won't affect me or my family. Only affect those staying in HDB or mass market condos -- and these people not my problem.

People at the top already have escape routes & backup plans --- multiple properties in other cities / countries, shell companies, holding companies, trust funds, trust companies, family offices, all based in multiple countries & tax havens overseas.

  10. @ RB:

I am a big fan of market crashes, credit bubble-explosions, and total collapses of unsustainable bad policy decisions.

Every once in awhile, total devastation is necessary to clear out the bullshit, lie and fraud....so that things are re-priced or transferred to "better owners", or just die away forever.

There are many examples of complex systems. Political economies, eco-systems, the dynamics of financial structures, human relationships, culture, biological evolution...and so on. They are robust to threats, but when they do collapse, it can be rapid without any hope of repair or recovery, and terminal.

Societies, cultures and countries NEED THAT TO HAPPEN. And if there are "human costs" involved so be it.

Singapore is creaking with profusions of bad ideas which may have been of some use decades ago but no longer apply; but unfortunately they're still hanging around like a smelly
fart in an elevator holding the cuntry and its sheeple back from making real progress. Everyone seems to be "victims" and believes they are "entitled" to justice or whatever the fuck the hip word-of-the-day is.

If you notice, the words "victims" and "entitled" often go, and come together like a priest on a choirboy.

There is also Schumpeter's Gale, aka "creative destruction". Blood sacrifices in human life on the altar of Human Progress need to occasionally be made.

So lets get on with it and allow shit to hit the fan. There will be winners, and losers. That's life folks.

So toughen up, and stop whining. (Or not...up to you lah) Remember our national mantra, modified by yours-truly: You die, your business, you dumb fuck. You live well, also your business! 😂

Good for you. Enjoy the fresh air while you are there.

After that back to stinkland in the crowded trains, bus, neighbourhood etc to smell and even rub your nose under shamboLEEs' sweaty armpit

You may need to train your stomach to be much stronger as the odour would likely intensify and become more concentrated, if not you may wish to bring along and standby plastic bags wherever you go especially in trains, buses cos no toilets ...

Aiyo Virgo49, it is quite obvious to bystander leh. Anon 7.17am on a Mon early morning made such an obvious request u dun understand?

His wife needs it lah but he PS to open his mouth. After reading your comment about the big V u have, probably the wifey whole night poking him to get her one.

So after holding himself back the whole night, anon 7.17am cannot tahan anymore lah and so early this morning hint hint to you lah.

But it is up to u to decide. Once u "lend' it to anon 7.17am, better take it as a "gift" to him and NOT take it back ANYMORE!

Quite sure u wont want to use it again to massage your aching back once anon 7.17am wifey uses it and likely anon 7.17am also.

      Cheers
