Mahathir is crying out loud like he used to be without any real basis but his gut feel, or because he chose to depend on his own lack of intellect to understand anything more than politics. In economics, science, engineering, or even in business and finance, this man is completely lost, out of his comfort zone.
He is blaming China for all the projects signed by Najib as unfair. How were they unfair? Is Mahathir saying or confirming that all the ministers and civil servants involved in negotiating and signing projects with China were all stupid, unthinking, uneducated, unqualified dumb asses, that they did not know that the projects and agreements were unfair? And only Mahathir knew that these projects were unfair because he thought so without even reading them or understanding them? Perhaps his main thesis in the Malay Dilemma is true, or he still believes that the bumiputras are really stupid. How could these leaders and senior civil servants be so stooopid to sign projects and agreements that were unfair to Malaysia without anyone point a gun at their heads?
If indeed the projects and agreements were really unfair to Malaysia, then those signatories and leaders who approved them must be really stupid. In that case they must all be prosecuted and sent to jail for their stupidity. This is a good ground to jail the stupids for signing unfair agreements and approving unfair projects.
The saddest part of it all is that the new people he is sending to renegotiate the contracts for a fairer agreements would likely to be just as stupid and the new agreements signed would still be unfair to Malaysia, at least in the eyes of Mahathir other than for China to build the projects for free. Why is this so? Mahathir should know better. How can an education system produce intelligent people and not stupid people when admission criteria is not based on merit and academic grades?
Mahathir should jolly well take the blame himself as the leaders of Malaysia today were the products of his past education policies. Remember GIGO in computer lingo? In education system, if you put in rubbish, out will come rubbish.
How many of you really believe in Mahathir that all those people that signed 'unfair' agreements were really so stoooopid that they did not know that the agreements were unfair or they did not know they were stupid?
China should simply ignore Mahathir and say it is ok to cancel all the contracts, just pay compensation as provided in the agreements like Singapore, and cut off Malaysia from the BRI.
Dr M is blaming China for the stupidity of his people, that China could make them sign contracts that were unfair to them. He is accusing China of cheating and bullying his stupid people of his country.
ReplyDelete//In education system, if you put in rubbish, out will come rubbish.//
ReplyDeleteHow is the "pot of gold" scheme aka DPRK "investment expedition" led by a sinkie academic (& PBM) going so far?
Making any headway?
Or another hot air (test balloon) by pseudo "businessmen" (aka expurts of BHSL)?
This dude is smart actually. It's a strategy to renegotiate a get deal
ReplyDeleteBetter deal...
ReplyDeleteHe thinks he is smart and could outwit other people. In the land of the blind, the one eye jack shines. This is like the little red dot leaders talking down to the daft thinking they are very smart. Once out of the comfort zone of the controlled state, in dealing with other countries, what came out of their mouths sounded so silly to their foreign peers.
ReplyDeleteMahathir going to tell the Chinese the contracts were unfair. The Chinese would simply tell him if they were unfair, why would his govt officials signed them in the first place? Go and ask your own officials why they signed if the contracts were unfair.
Did they know that the contracts were unfair when they signed?
Dr M has been busy trying to scupper whatever project Najib initiated in collaboration with China. His excuse for doing so is that Malaysia is heavily in debt due to Najib's incompetence as well as corruption. He has travelled to Japan and Indonesia to seek financial aid without much success. His decision to put the HSR on hold is seen as an overt attempt to spite Singapore. China is prepared to write off Malaysia and shift its focus to Myanmar. Dr M may cause irreparable damage to the economy of Malaysia if he allows his personal feelings to cloud his judgement. 92-year old Dr M knows that BRI will bring prosperity to Malaysia but he has chosen to act perversely. Certainly a Malaysian dilemma.

ReplyDelete//RB - They would not thank you for such awakening ideal, do not wasted your effort, let nature take the course.//
True!
After more than a decade of (kpkb in) MSN, the state of affairs had gone from bad to worse?
Totally no use?
In his own words, "bor yok kiew"?
He went to Japan asking for financial helps and investments. The Japanese looked at him and how he twisted and turned on decisions in the past and concluded that this is not a trustworthy man to deal with. He could change his mind anytime he deems fit.
ReplyDeleteFurther, he could be out of the game anytime due to his age and his successor would throw out everything he did just like the crooked bridge once he lost power.
How to make a deal with such an insecure and temperamental old man? Give him a contract tomorrow he would say unfair, no deal, renegotiate.
Did they know that the contracts were unfair when they signed?

In the south, did they know the big population policy was flawed when they implement it?

He thinks he is PAP dealing with the daft, can do anything he wants?
As usual, China is the convenient scapegoat abused by most if not many of southeast politicians. Completely agree that China should point middle finger to mahathir and all those racist politicians.
ReplyDeleteDr M made a fool of himself by accusing China of playing unfair. Weren't those policies favoring bumiputras are also unfair to anyone with common sense intact?
ReplyDeleteAnyone with a clear mind knows that the real reason why mahathir left umno is because before he died, he wants to pave way for his incompetent son. It's not because he really give a damn to his own country interests, to its people.
Mahathir should blame himself, for the New Economic Policy he initiated when he first became PM more than two decades ago, by giving the Malays all kinds of advantage, the result of which they become lazy to progress and just wait for handouts.
ReplyDeleteThis has also led to the exodus of more talented Chinese and Indians who have been side-lined, and put the country in the hands of poorly educated, lazy, corrupted and greedy Malay politicians, who used the race factor espoused by him to run the Government. The rot starts from there and then.
Even so-called top Malay public prosecutors and lawyers cannot speak proper English. How can they win negotiations with the outside world conducted in English, when they could hardly understand what is written inside complicated international agreements? He is practically using the ignorance factor now to claim that the Chinese are taking advantage of them in projects in Malaysia. He does not understand that 'ignorance is no excuse' in law. He is using the race factor once again openly to rally the Malays for support. it is all very clear to see the way he is acting.
I say again, he had not changed and will never change. He is now intent on ruining the country further by sticking to his Malay first policy, despite Malaysians in general voting out UMNO because of this reason of continual indulgence in racial politics. Even Anwar is like minded and cannot be trusted, when and if he takes over.
The few Chinese in the Cabinet, like Lim Guan Eng, are there to be used and discarded by him in time to come. They are there, like MCA and MIC in UMNO before, used to suppress the Chinese, not to contribute to the dream of a New Malaysia. That dream is an illusion that Malaysians will find out when they wake up.
Who is more stoooopid than Mahathir??
ReplyDelete- the 69.9 % !!
Agree, anyone that signed unfair agreements that sold out the interests of his country should be charged and jailed.

East Malaysian states now realise that they are subsidising West Malaysia from their Petronas oil revenues.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they are tired too of being used as ATM by the Federal Government over the decades and are looking for change. They too needed to wake up, used the oil revenue to develop their country themselves. Or, like Mahathir, renegotiate for a higher share of the oil revenue or cut off the oil flow or better still, leave Malaysia altogether. Sounds familiar with our water agreements with Johore?
What do you think?

Good try ...?
All start with the letter "S"
Are you suggesting "Something"?
Like "Federation of SinBahWak"?
Unfortunately, the JLBs are not anywhere near (or (cap)able) to "cut such a deal"?
Would Mahathir admit that his UMNO garment has been dealing unfairly with the East Malaysians? Can the East Malaysians renegotiate these unfair agreements and perhaps go independence and govern themselves instead of being ruled by stupids and half baked politicians in West Malaysia?

It is not difficult to realise that instead of going alone and becoming independent on their own and thus end up in a lose-lose situation, it is hugely mutually benficial and highly win-win if they realise they could do much better if they merge with peesai?
Now bloggers only know how to kpkb and never even blog about such topic?
Dun think they can write anything or see the possibility of such an outcome?
In any case, one human bean cannot tahan if that happens, one senior patriot can realise his dream of owning a small plot of land and live out his remaining life ...?
In the water margin, there was one incompetent guy called Wang Lun and he was ousted by the 800,000 imperial army ex-chief instructor Lin Chong.
But in the end, all the good guys still died or went into seclusion and the Song Dynasty imploded and collapsed under its own weight and taken over by the Mongolians.
The moral of the story is that for some people their ego is like a giant boulder in the oz desert but their ability maciam a pea size bean?
No success or any good can come out from such a disproportionate mismatch?
Even if it is just kpkb-ing in the social media, much less becoming a real mover?
Hahaha
ReplyDeleteDid the Tengku took advantage of the East Malaysians by making them share the oil revenue? I understand the East Malaysian state only had a 10% (?) royalty payments over the oil. How fair is that and can they ask for an increase? Just tear up the old agreement and renegotiate for a better deal? That is how Malaysian law works.
What is sauce for the goose is also sauce for the gander.

ReplyDeleteIf Sarawak leaves Malaysia and merge with Peesai, that will be a masterstroke eclipsing the Trump/Kim summit. And Matland will cut off our water supply and do a 'konfrontasi', unless we also join up with Indonesia. Then Matland would not dare to act tough.
ReplyDeleteMany scenarios, possibilities and optical illusions to cloud the landscape, if and when things get out of hand and too complicated.
Indonesia is moving fast up the economic ladder. So does Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines and soon Myanmar. Matland's continual race policies will be left behind as the sick man of ASEAN.

ReplyDeleteThe big ula Mahathir went to Japan on his first visit overseas after being sworn in as PM for second time. This action alone has many implications. Japan and US are China's Number One Aggressors, Antagonists, Invaders and Long-term Enemies. Mahathir knows this fact fully well.
By showing his first priority of friendship towards Japan, Mahathir has already snubbed and antagonized China.
Then, after the visit, he declared that the deals made with China is unfair. He is copying US President Dotard Trump's tactics to confront China, no doubt. Next, he wants to renegotiate with China to get a better deal for Malaysia (meaning he wants undertable 10% cut on every deal with China?).
China must be either damn fxxking stupid, weak, or desperate if China were to kowtow to this DYING OLD MAN, who may not live past 95!
All China need to do is to avoid him and delay until he falls dead.
Alternatively, China should develop the Kra Canal on an urgent basis. With the new Thai King, the project has a better chance of success, if China plays the cards right.
The new Thai King is very much different from his father. He has a mind of his own. His first move after being enthroned was to put all the royal assets under his direct control and administration, instead of allowing the government's appointed agency to manage them (a tradition that goes back to the first Thai King).
This shows that he is willing to go against tradition for the good of the monarchy and future of the country.
The wily Dr M is indulging in brinkmanship. He sounds a little hysterical about the unfair deals which he claims China has clinched under the Najib regime. But he has not spoken much about the Melaka Megaport which will steal business from Singapore. Dr M is aware that Chinese investment will benefit the Chinese more than the bumiputras. Mandarin will become a very important mean of communication and many jobs will require Mandarin speaking workers.
ReplyDeleteThe concept of a Malay Malaysia has not work wrll for the good of Malaysia. Moreover, a Malay Malaysia means Muslim Malaysia. This does not gel with the Non-Muslims in West Malaysia, the Sarawakans and the Sabahans.
ReplyDeleteFor the long-term interests of the country, it has to be a Malaysian Malaysia.
This Bumiputras (sons of the soil) thing, counting Malays as the rightful sons of the soil is totally devient and corrupted. The actual sons of the soil are the sakais, dayaks, negritos, etc. The Malays are migrants from the Yunan Plateau in China. Therefore, they cannot claim to be the original inhabitants of Malaysia.
From the very start, the whole system of government was already corrupt.
Of course not fair. Coz all the agreements only benefited the cheenahs, ah jeep & ah jeep's cronies. Madter and madter's cronies didn't get a cent ... so of course unfair lah!!!
ReplyDeleteMadter and madter's cronies didn't get a cent? True or not? Ask the Malaysians!
ReplyDeleteCould it not be because jippy and cronies took more than him? You cannot beat Madter. He must win!
I agree with Mahathir that those Najib's cronies were stupid because they forgot to give a share of the "commissions" to Mahathir or his son. That was the fatal mistake of Najib and company.
ReplyDeleteBTW Najib did gave something to BAD-AWI's wife through Rosmah. The MACC should also freeze BAD-AWI'S Family bank accounts.

If so, just thInk BIG lah?
The state of "NEW MOUNTAIN" also can join in the merger mah?
Then 2061 solved (perhaps once and for all)?
Then what 10m or 20m?
100m also np?
Can even eclipse the JackPeeNiece in due time?
No?
GDP per capita US$80K x 100m = US$8 Trillion ...
Ah Long San, Trump San and Xi San form G3 sit on same table?
Think bIg lah?
Hum chee (for fart)?

Once "Bro Jeep" gone, who will be next?
ReplyDeleteDun be daft lah

Quiz:
ReplyDeleteWhy did Lee Kuan Yew's last visit to Malaysia, in 2014 (months before he became bedridden and subsequently kicked away his bed) deliberately asked to meet Rosmah Mansor, the second wife of Najib Rasak? Why was it so important that he must see her in person?
1. Was it because Rosmah was the one who called the shots behind the scenes, and Najib was her puppet?
2. Was it connected to certain evidence that Singapore might have possessed regarding the murder case of the Mongolian woman?
3. Was it because Najib had transferred lots of money to Singapore under Rosmah Mansor's accounts in Singapore's government banks?
4. All of the above?
5. None of the above?
Mahathir will win this one lah. The only option for China is to take their claims to court, maybe they'll get some "compensation"
ReplyDeleteMahathir does like, nor does he trust China. He couldn't give a shit if they are "bigger" than Malaysia. Similarly, he doesn't like the EU or the USA either.
Mahathir might like to get his "commission", but he is 100% for Malaysia and Malaysians, and puts their interest first...even if he is in the "wrong".
At the end of the day POLITICS trumps economics / finance.
