Another wonderful ‘pow chiat’ success business formula from Singapore

Below is a quote taken from the Statestimes and I believe they have quoted it from the main media and must be true. I stand corrected.

Announced yesterday (Nov 4), the Land Transport Authority (LTA) ruled that only Temasek Holdings-owned companies SMRT and SBS Transit are allowed to bid for the new Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL).

Profits of the successful bidder will be guaranteed under the new contractual model where taxpayers will bear the revenue risk. PAP MP Ang Hin Kee claimed that when profits are guaranteed, the company will focus on quality:

“When you remove the revenue risk, meeting the service standards becomes the focal point of an operator’s ability to deliver.”’

I think all businessmen would love this formula. They should all make an application to the govt for a guaranteed profit figure and then promise to improve the quality of their service or products. How about that, go takers or not?  Let’s start with SIA, can buy back NOL and use this formula, who else want to take up this formula? How about HDB, profit guaranteed, no more billion dollar losses, and quality sure to improve. How about our universities, guaranteed profits to produce quality graduates, no mismatch? How about the telcos, SBS, the taxi drivers?

All the shops in Orchard Road would be forming a beeline to the government office to apply for guaranteed profits to improve products and services. This idea or concept is simply brilliant. I would never have thought of it and I don’t think anyone in the whole wide world would be able to come with such a clever idea. Count on the million dollar talents to come out with such an ‘out of the world idea’ to match out of the world salary. Now you can see the result of paying million dollars for million dollar ideas. Be grateful.

Soon all the companies in Singapore would be making profits and improving the quality of their products and services. Praise must be given when it is due. Another Uniquely Singapore innovative idea. Nevermind if the risk is borne by taxpayers. Our taxpayers are very rich. Sorry taxpayers, or shall I say thank you taxpayers, you are so kind and generous?

PS. I also want to go into business when profits are guaranteed.

  2. The G is overly confident..who knows that the new TEL line collapse like the Nicoll Highway...or SinkieLand become incompetitive & become a ghost town..the G is too optimistic..who knows that Donald Trump wins in US election & the TPP cancel crippling SinkieLand bziness...

  3. No! No! No!

The taxpayers dont mind to pay to ensure that ALL companies
and organistions in Singapore are guaranteed to make profits,
if ALL sinaporeans can also be guaranteed with a good job and
an attractive salary for life, yes for life!

    This is very very fair!

With this, companies, organisations and singaporeans will be ALL smiling!

Then, this will truely be Uniquely Singapore innovative idea!

The new economy and business model!

    Cheers.

  5. Times bad liao. So future projects must be given to Temasick Holdings. Boost GDP. Actually Sinkie land GDP adds to their figure of local construction not not external trade of Revenue gains.

So all the good years statistics billshit how many many percent growth.
Even building HDB flats also under GDP???

Oh Ya, should be under economy GDP for they made thousand percent profits. Correct, correct
Other countries GDP included their construction companies vying and have projects overseas binging revenue to their coffers.

Sinkieland paid billions to others in construction and put the figures as economy GDP growth.

Globalisation? ? What talking them. Now they have closed door protectionism.
For that matter, which country signing so many Trade pacts follow the rules strictly? ?

Only daft Sinkieland. Now they kena plucked.

  6. This formula is not new. Like the pay them very high salary first, then they would not be wasting time thinking on how to corrupt to make more money. They will then spend their time productively working to better the lives of the people.

    Damn good concept, damn effective.

  7. 70%, or rather the "not ready to be govt" opposition, also guarantee PAP to win every election mah.

But too bad lah, PAP does not focus on performance, despite being guaranteed to win.

    So like that how?

  8. to make it easier for everybody..why donch temasick just say how much it wants to lose each year n we give them a parliamentary grant..that way..donch need to round trip cpf funds n all this rubbish...it will also make the ministers look good if they donch need to make these stoopiiid statements.

  9. “When you remove the revenue risk, meeting the service standards becomes the focal point of an operator’s ability to deliver.”’

    Tiok.
Same as minimum salary guarantee for all Singaporeans.

“When you remove the INCOME risk, meeting the service standards becomes the focal point of an EMPLOYEE’s ability to deliver.”’

  10. Same same also for remisers in the SGX.

“When you remove the INCOME risk, meeting the service standards becomes the focal point of a REMISER’s ability to deliver.”’

  11. What about PAP Ministers and PAP MPs ??

“When you remove the INCOME risk, meeting the LOYALTY standards to LHL becomes the focal point of a Minister or MP.”

  12. /// Profits of the successful bidder will be guaranteed under the new contractual model where taxpayers will bear the revenue risk. ///

So we have a MINIMUM wage system for a Temasek linked company?
But we have no minimum wage system for Singaporeans?

    What the fuck?

    1. It is not who we hoping will win?

It is the reality on the ground, who their voters want to lead them, to bring about change though probably nobolee knows which candidate would do exactly what during the term?

Obviously many are hoping for the candidate who they perceive will bring less problem depending which cuntry they belong to and which strata they belong to?

If u watch the movie Top Gun (in 1986), in the end Maverick triumphs?

If the script runs alike Top Gun, it is a forgone conclusion?
