The haze poll is working fine at the moment

75 have voted. 65 said the govt is reactive and 10 said dunno or blur. The result is quite expected. It would be worst if 65 voted blur and 10 voted reactive.

Being reactive means still trying to do something, whether right or wrong or effective or ineffective is another thing. And don't try to explain this away as not the right thing or the people are misguided. This is the perception of the govt and from the way things are happening daily, you can see that the Govt is reacting on a day by day basis.

The big plan, the proactive part, the thinking ahead to prevent things from getting to such a stage, are totally absent. They may argue that there is a haze plan and every reaction is part of the big plan. How many would believe so?

The distribution of the mask, the PSI, PM 10 and PM 2.5 are all hot issues with everyone contradicting and disagreeing with everyone. It is just like a circus in town.

We still have a few more days for the poll to run and the numbers are still coming in.

Thanks for the feedback.

  1. But where being the strongest and best available party to be govt is concerned, the PAP is never reactive. In fact it has been proactive since day one. And this was acknowledged by at least 60% Sinkie voters when it really matters, every time.

Reactive to the haze problem? Or to whatever other problems? So?

Have Sinkies got a better and stronger opposition party ready to be govt than they had now?

    So Sinkies remain just Sinkies.

  2. Sinkies like to blog and comment.

And for the smart ones, also know how to make lots of money under PAP rule or even during the haze. And also properly protect themselves from the haze.

Where got time and mood to challenge the PAP during elections, tio bo?

  3. SO like it or not, PAP remains the best available party to rule Singapore and Vivian Balakrishnan is the best available person to be MEWR Minister.

Because the best and most talented do not want or got no chance to become minister if they do not want to join the PAP.

  4. So being the best and most talented Sinkie also cannot serve the nation if they do not become minister.

But maybe they serve themselves well by making lots of money for themselves, of course in other jobs or business and not as minister lah.

  5. I'm on of the fuckers who voted "blur". That is the most honest answer IMO, given that redbean basically gave a false dichotomy choice of proactive vs reactive.

The PAP are both proactive and reactive at the same time -- even with this haze saga.

Anyway, the poll is great in a sense that it helps to give insight into the general trend of Singaporeans being so damn COCK SURE in their opinions.

From a "central control" standpoint, this is an important measurement -- it allows planners to plan their strategies of mass manipulation and hone the finer points.

I also enjoyed the recent 'Hello Kitty' social experiment. If eating McDonald's doesn't kill you -- heart disease, colo-rectal cancer, diabetes -- perhaps some psycho with a Hello Kitty fetish will ;-)

  6. The only one who is taking concrete action is Darkness.

He is using his extensive oil palm network to find out who the culprits are - they even know who owns what parcels of land. Our govt is still begging the indo for concession maps.

He has also started to develop a $10 haze respirator that can be made cheaply with avaliable materials. While those politicians talk, talk and talk.

Men action will always win over men who just talk, talk, talk

  8. Hi Fiona, welcome to the blog. Darkness has been posting quite a bit on his blog recently. His haze respirator, if it is the one with the goggle, is very reasonably priced. Every year there will be a mad rush to buy it if that is a production model.

  9. Since Fukushima nuclear reactor continues to leak in Japan;

What is PAP gahmen's plan in the event the radioactive materials start washing up on our beaches?

This is a simple question to see if this is a proactive or reactive gahmen.

  10. Aiya, by the time Fukushima radioactive materials start washing up to Sinkie beaches, all the other countries beaches in Asia also got it already lah, tio bo?

So it's Doomsday lah, or the end of Mankind. But I think it is also not realistic lah, just as it is not realistic to expect tsunamis to hit Sinkieland.

But it is very realistic that PAP will do something to remain as the strongest party to rule Singapore and this is enough already, tio bo?
