Flooding seems to be a regular occurrence nowadays. Every torrential rain of a couple of hours could see some area flooded. Yesterday was MacPherson and Tai Seng/Paya Lebar area. Where would it be today if it rains?
This is bringing me back to the 1960s when flood was a common thing. Quite fun actually, with cars stalling in the middle of the roads.
Nostalgic isn't it? Seems like PAP is governing Singapore from Third World to First and Back.
ReplyDeleteI've already ordered an inflatable boat enough for me,the Missus, my grand daughter and the maid just in case I find this place turning into the Venice of the East and the over valued car is no longer fashionable. It comes with a small motor with a 200 km range, enough for us to putt putt to higher ground to Johore and register as flood refugees.
ReplyDeleteMr. Bean, I suggest you do the same and not listen to the "once in 50 years" "caught off guard" bullshit.
Nowadays, I still remember my Scout's motto: "Be Prepared".
Hehe.
Getting an inflatable dinghy is a good thing. I bet the water will at most cover the void decks. With the dinghy we can putt putt from one block of flats to the next. And the entrepreneurial will be selling their wares from little sampans ala Bangkok River Market.
ReplyDeleteSome parts of the island could become the Atlantis of the East: ) No more use for cars.
For the oldies, quite nostalgic for sure.
Thank God, Hougang and Potong Pasir still unaffected.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise they will tell everyone: see, vote for opposition and you get floods every time there is heavy rain.
Heaven has eyes!
Remember? Not realistic to expect S'pore to be flood-free.. What do you expect?
ReplyDeleteYa man. Potong Pasir and Hougang no flooding man.
ReplyDeleteNow heavy rain, guess where is going to flood.
Yesterdays floods are all solved or gone.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the funs the coming ones will provide as we are into the monsoon season.
Just remember to avoid parking your vehicles in basement carparks and set up your shops at higher floors.
And if the downpours are real heavy, maybe get out of the MRT when the trains reach Kallang Station before they proceed underground.
Some Singaporeans are saying Nature and Heaven are exacting punishments, however, this is subjected to individual interpretation la.
patriot
And more to follow.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the foundations of parliament house will be so weaked that the whole house of evil collapses into the Singapore River.
That should be a great thing to toast whilst sipping beer at the opposite bank of Boat Quay.
The Istana will be a better choice!
ReplyDeleteThe House of Satan is not always occupied.
Haha, istana could be another Da Vinci code. Unscramble the letters and you can have I SATAN: )
ReplyDeleteYah, just like tuhan and hantu. Fortunately they are only for the superstitious.
