First of all, Iranian missiles will take care of any warship trying to land troops anywhere within the Persian Gulf. Secondly, getting into Iran proper has to go through mountain ranges all along the coast of Western Iran that are no Bukit Timah Hill. By then Iran would have taken them out at will. Moreover, aircraft carriers for projection of power cannot even move near to the Persian Gulf region to land troops as Iranian hypersonic missiles will take them out like sitting ducks.
According to Colonel Douglas MacGregor, the only plausible launching base would be from Yanbu on the Saudi Arabian Red Sea coast. But to launch an assault from there and crossing thousands of miles of desert to reach the Persian Gulf is no easy marching in the desert heat. Even if that is attempted, how many special forces can the USA afford to send in this way? There are probably a million Iranian troops, half a million Iran Revolutionary Guards complemented by half a million regular Iranian military personnel. With home ground advantage, what are the odds of success of the USA mission? Practically nil.

Trump still throwing threats that he will attack Iran very hard should Iran not negotiate. I thought he already boasted about bombing Iran back to the stone age. What happened to the boasting? Now only attacking hard? How hard is hard?
ReplyDeleteWho created this problem? Who tore up the peace deal brokered by Barrack Obama and for what reason? No apparent reason other than removing Obama's name on the agreement and trying to force Iran to agree to a new agreement under his name. The man is insane, full of himself and totally shameless.
We can never expect Trump to reflect on his sins by looking into the mirror before accusing others. I do not think he was renovating the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool for him to reflect on his wrongdoings. That cannot be expected to happen. Maybe he was thinking of renaming the pool after himself, just like the Trump Ballroom after demolishing the Rose Garden. An evil man full of evil thoughts.
