The North Vietnamese did not have a strong air force or naval force and yet they defeated the USA conclusively. The USA air force was carpet bombing the Vietcong day and night for more than three long years. What was the result? A historic load of bombs dropping meaninglessly while the Vietcong were hiding underground. Tenacity and strategy won the day, not military might.
The Taliban had no air force, navy or even an army to talk about, and yet they sent the USA home, after the USA threw more than US$2 trillion into an unwinnable misadventure. Resilient and strategy won the day. The Taliban could wait another twenty years, just using guerilla warfare and small arms. The USA could not fight a long-drawn-out war. They feared putting boots on the ground in Yemen against the Houthis, which they could do so on a trot.
That goes for Iran as well. USA troops on the ground in Iran will face the same treatment as in Vietnam. Trump is boasting that he is not worried about troops bogged down in Iran. Draft his son, Baron Trump, into the forefront of the invasion of Iran and let us see what he says.
Trump is now giving a 48-hours ultimatum to Iran to open up the Straits of Hormuz. Why not make it 24-hours like in Ukraine? Trump claims to have taken out all aerial, naval and underground silos of Iran. Who is going to believe him, risking ships costing hundreds of millions that insurers are unwilling to cover. The man talks big when he is high on drugs and chickens out when he is slightly sober.

Iran hit the nail on the head, maintaining that what is happening is all about manipulating the stock market by Trump over the postponement of his threat to bomb Iran's power plants, which was withdrawn before the expiry of his 48-hours ultimatum. I actually expected that, not that I am an expert political analyst. The man operates the same way all the time, which is why TACO is a perfect fit. All that posturing by Trump is obviously about manipulating the stock market, something he has been doing since taking office.
ReplyDeleteIt is too co-incidental, and obviously intentional, that the changing of stances is creating a yo-yo effect on the stock market and Trump, his family and cronies are making a killing. Make hay while the sun shines have been the policy of Trump, right from the days of his first bankruptcy, with bankruptcies his model of making money. Please do not say that there was no insider knowledge for himself, his family and cronies, who are using their special position to enrich themselves within his circle. If you believe otherwise, you are just as delusional and naive.
The same modus operandi had been employed since the start of Trump's presidency right from the start of the tariff war - the escalation, the pull back, the few fake deals, all have been created to move the stock market. Then there was the Venezuela issue that rocked the stock market too, followed by stoking the Greenland issue that he also capitalized on, and still on the backburner and not done with. It will resurface, now that Trump and NATO Europe do not see eye to eye over the Iran war.
The Iran issue had already given him and his family two opportunities, two bites of the money-making cherry, first in June last year with the bombing of Natanz followed by a suspicious ceasefire following the crippling retaliation by Iran on Israel, then running short of interceptors despite moving 20,000 of them from Ukraine.
Less than a year later, Iran has been attacked for no plausible reason, just fabrication and using the fake news that they have to attack Iran first to prevent Iran from making the bomb within two weeks. Didn't Trump already boasted loudly and clearly for the world to hear that he already took out the nuclear facilities for bomb making in June last year. So, he actually lied. That tells us how much of a prolific liar he was and is. A leopard can never change its spots.
Trump was reported by some sources to have been taken aback by the massive retaliation by Iran in taking out the radar systems, the patriot and THAAD batteries and crippling USA military bases and interceptor responses. I could not believe my ears to read of some sources quoting Trump as saying that Iran's retaliation was 'unfair'. Trump probably has no knowledge of the saying that 'all is fair in love and war'. How the word fairness can even come out of his mouth when everything he does is beyond fairness - the tariff war and the seizure of oil from a sovereign country, complicity in committing genocide in Gaza and an illegal war now being fought against Iran. And he talks about taking Cuba next. Is that a man that believes in fairness?
