I wonder if it is true that some Iranian missiles were made not wholly of metal, but special wood or plastic with just motorcycle engines attached, whose approach to targets sounded just like a harmless motorcycle. Jimmy Dore's website provided this information that I am quoting. Which makes them out-witting radar systems looking for metal reflecting radar signals which does not happen, and fooling radar systems that mistook them for birds. Such materials and composites are going to make radar systems unreliable, just like hypersonic missiles making aircraft carriers vulnerable.
Like the North Vietnamese, Iranians are fighting this war of survival with their head and less dependent on brute force, aerial power and propaganda, which they know cannot match the USA and Israel. The Iranians have come across just as tenacious as the Vietcong, and equally strategic and industrious. More than 40 years of planning, building underground bunkers that continues to produce drones and missiles and stashing them there as well, while bombs landed overhead. Naval missile batteries constructed underground along the length of its coast can take out aircraft carriers and cannot be said to be open to an invasion without recourse.
Iran is prepared for the long haul. Oil prices will continue to go skywards, although some things US$200 a barrel is unlikely. Russia will continue to reap benefits from rising oil prices, a godsend for funding its war in Ukraine. China will be affected, but has already been preparing for this scenario for decades. Moreover, China has managed to shield its transportation sector by going largely electric. Another development has reported that China is using chemical technology to convert coal, which is in abundance, into fuel oil for its manufacturing facilities. In the end, when the release of oil stockpiles cannot go on indefinitely, we will see the shit hitting the fan. We are seeing the aviation sector already facing big problems just two weeks into the war.

Trump does not realize that he is sleepwalking into another Vietnam, with USA troops and logistics converging on to the Middle East. He boasted about bombing Kharg Island 'for fun' and Iran can do nothing about it. Iran will likewise take out all the USA owned oil storage facilities in the Middle East. And that also means the Straits of Hormuz is a dead zone for ships. How is that going to stop the war within another two to three weeks? It will be Vietnam all over again.
ReplyDeleteNorth Vietnam was not even militarily prepared as Iran today, just leveraging on their experience in expelling the French at Dien Bien Phu. Not to forget that North Vietnam was then fighting against South Vietnam supported by USA, South Korea among others, with all the superiority in aerial power, logistics and manpower.
What does that tell us about Trump just sending tens of thousands of USA troops to the Middle East, into a meat grinder, fighting Iranian troops that have the advantage of geographical layout, defensive hideout and equally well-developed weaponry like drones and missiles.
But Trump is a military genius with zero military background, and he listens not to the military top brass, but follows the advice of his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and the USA Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, both Jews serving the interest of Netanyahu.
Iran does not need mine laying ships, which Trump can take out if he wants to. Iran can just throw a few loose mines into the Persian Gulf costing maybe US$500 each. What say you about employing a couple of minesweepers in the Persian Gulf, doing 'mind sweeping' job for Trump. Another much ado about nothing.
DeleteYou know, the math is going even weirder. From the need to use US$20,000 drones to using US$500 mines to take out enemy ships, that is really using strategy. And US$500 mines can even take out multi-million-dollar warships, is even more innovative. No wonder no one wants to join the USA war party.
DeletePropaganda can't win wars. Carpet bombing too. It has been proven time and again.
ReplyDeleteThe hype of aerial power is no longer a deterrent for those willing to take the fight to the enemy. Vietnam and Afghanistan are perfect examples.
ReplyDeleteTrump's Venezuela adventure was a walk in the park, with park rangers welcoming him with open arms. Iran is welcoming Trump with body bags. Both adventures centered on oil, plenty of it. The difference is that one is not fighting for its sovereignty, while the other is fighting tooth and nail.
ReplyDeleteTrump lies whenever he opens his mouth, about everything under the sun. I believe he even lies in his sleep. And one more thing, even is Trump dies, his mouth will never die.
