China's strategic plan for the defence of its eastern front is out in full display. The latest deployment of more than 100 warships in the western Pacific Ocean from East of Japan down to the South China Sea, straddling the whole second island chain, is a statement. The waters between the Chinese coast and this line will be the new China Lake. China has full military control of the waters in all dimensions, air, sea, under the sea and space. China has all the tools and military assets to enforce its control and domination of this area.
The Americans may want to contest this new development, continue to cry out loud about freedom of navigation, their warplanes and warships can fly and sail to anywhere they want. Yes, the Americans can still do it in peaceful conditions, but will be under the watchful eyes of China and at the mercy of China. They no longer can fly or sail with full confidence that nothing can hurt them. They know they are being watched and tracked, and followed by Chinese radars and weapons. Same applies to all the American military bases in South Korea, Japan and the Philippines, all inside the Chinese Lake. They appear to be safe but knowing that they are not safe anymore.
South Korea has nothing to worry about as they did not have real issues with China, does not threaten China and vice versa. Japan is like a doggie inside the Chinese Lake, still growling, snarling and putting up a brave front...and still arrogant and provocative, even wanting to go to war with China. When they cross the red line, China can simply close the door and whack the dog anyway it wants. Japan is alone, has nowhere to run, cannot run. To the North is Russia, to the West is North Korea and China is all around.
When China decides to give the doggie a beating, it will just tell the Americans, the master of the dog, to stay out and not be involved. All American military bases, assets and boys and girls will be safe. The Americans can choose to defy China, to protect the dog. This would put America in direct confrontation with three nuclear powers, and the consequences would be unbearable. The math's and geography did not favour the Americans. They may be mad but not stupid. They will not fight a losing war against all odds for Japan. And staying out would mean safe and sound and no casualties.
The current provocations by the Japanese are still escalating, with the Japanese still prancing around, waving the samurai sword. China is keeping pace with the Japanese antics and waiting for the moment to close the door and whack the doggie. Any resistance or attempt to hit back would only increase the intensity of the whacking. The Japanese must know that China, Russia and the Koreans have an axe to grind, to settle scores with the Japanese. The Japanese must also know that all three are nuclear powers and would have no qualms of releasing their pent up feelings, anger and hatred for the Japanese. They will show no mercy for the Japanese to avenge the barbarities and heinous crimes against their own kind in WW2. If they have to bury the Japanese for good, so be it.
Japan is asking for a beating and will get a real beating. The gravity of the beating will depend on how wild the Japanese behave. The Americans know this and would wisely choose to stay out. The bloody feud has nothing to do with the Americans. Stepping into the fray is to invite self annihilation. The Chinese and Russians would have notified the Americans in advance not to be a busybody.
PS. When China closes the China Lake, Taiwan will return to the Motherland without a fight.
