The Americans and the west have been pushing the narrative that countries should not be over dependent on China for trade, technology and everything. But it is ok to be overdependent on the Americans or the west. So they started to push the agenda for decoupling, but this failed and now calling for derisking.
India is perhaps the exemplary country that practised this non dependence on China strategy to the hilt. India bought its weapons from countries around the world, the best from Russia, UK, France, America, Israel and whoever, not from China. The Indian armed forces is like a United Nations of weapons manufacturers. India has gone to the stage of building the airframe of an aircraft, fitted with American engine, Italian tyres, European avionics and Russian weapons. This is like buying a car, with parts from all over the world and assembled in India...not to be dependent on any one country.
Pakistan on the other hand did not have this problem and would not be misled by this crazy and flimsy strategy of the West. Pakistan not only bought aircraft and weapons from China, but the whole operating systems, including radars and SAMs.
The merits or demerits of the two strategies are best demonstrated in the Operation Sindoor, between India and Pakistan. The rojak system of India failed miserably when all the parts cannot be put together to function as a whole system. The India Pakistan War speaks for itself and is telling the potential buyers of weapons systems what is best for their own interests and not be misled by the mischievous agenda and narratives of the West. But many countries like to believe in the American and western lies, especially Asian and Asean countries. They will continue to ransack all the western junkyards to find some discarded stuff and pay a ransom for them because they are made in the West.
Good morning All

ReplyDeleteAnyone thinks Singapore got chance to fly back its bought and paid F35s?
ReplyDeleteIndia did the right thing listening to the USA, but adopted the wrong tactics, buying weapons from every Tom, Dick and Harry. The problem is they do not work well together, with systems culled from Russian, French and Indian sources and now adding in USA weaponry, trying to get them to work together into a cohesive force. It is Indian 'Rojak' mixed with Russian, French and now USA ingredients that is neither East nor West and expecting them to work together.
ReplyDeleteIt failed against Pakistan that used basically Chinese weapons and Pakistan self-developed fighter jets, the JF17 fighter jets, made together by China and Pakistan, that works well under a single system. Now Pakistan got the idea and is now buying even more advanced Chinese fighter jets and weapons. Iran also got the idea fast and has ordered Chinese J10C fighter jets and the whole works, in fact calling it the whole Chinese air force, including AWACS.
With Boeing still suffering bad publicity with another 737 Max fire before take-off at Denver Airport days ago, due to a collapsed landing gear, how honestly reliable are those F35s bought by Singapore and stationed in USA? By the time hostilities breaks out over here, there may not be a place to land for them, not to talk about being on time to fight a war.
That Boeing landing gear collapse at Denver and resulting fire is one of two incidents. The other incident occurred within days at Heathrow Airport involving a Boeing 777, after takeoff with smoke in the cabin and forced to return to Heathrow. Passengers must have diarrhea on board, knowing what happened with Air India Flight 171, also a Boeing 787.
DeleteBut all will be forgotten. Just don't mention it and focus on Boeing sales. It is so good.
