Evil Americans endless pretext for war...and being loved by the stupid Anglophiles in Asean

When Russia and China were not that friendly, and the USA and China were still not at loggerheads, Russia was the only major enemy that the USA vis a vis NATO was facing. Therefore, Russia had to remain the whipping boy for NATO to continue to exist. But the provocations against Russia went too far off tangent and that pushed Russia towards China. This was not part of the agenda, and the war-mongering game had now to be pivoted towards the South China Sea.

When China became a peer competitor thirty years ago, and seen to be teaming up with Russia, the game had to be changed. The USA had to pivot to contain China as well, hence the use of Taiwan and South China Sea issues were worked into its agenda on the pretext of claiming that China had been provoking others around the South China Sea. Was there a war going on between China and Taiwan or other Asian countries? South China Sea territorial disputes had been around for ages without much fanfare until the USA steps in.

Much effort had been made to pry apart the alliance between Russia and China ranging from economics to military issues. That has not succeeded thus far, and I believe China is not trying any more to musk its direct support for Russia economically, though not so apparent militarily like North Korea.

Had the USA succeeded to pry Russia away from China, Russia will probably be in NATO by now and the Ukraine War will thus be over. But Putin probably is too astute to fall into a trap once the China issue is settled. New issues will be created to make Russia into the proverbial punching bag once again, knowing that Russia can always rise to compete with the USA. The USA needs to create an enemy to be used to rally its doggies, cronies and allies to sustain its Military Industrial Complex.

To pivot to its new agenda, NATO has to find a way to expand its reach to Asia to confront China to ensure its relevance and continuity Do we now realize why NATO is expanding into Asia, setting up base in Japan? Think about that!

The USA has lost much influence in South America; too late to have any influence in Central Asia, now in the hands of Russia and China; has lost credibility in Africa after the fiasco of inviting African leaders to Washington by Joe Biden just for a photoshoot, and being given the cold shoulder and being promised chicken wings amounting to US$7 miserable millions each to develop digital infrastructure in all of Africa. Now, the USA has also lost ASEAN, with Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia joining BRICS. USA defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, is now selling snake oil at the Shangri-la Hotel, trying to flog a dead horse by castigating China. Why repeat the mantra that the USA is not seeking a war with China when the obvious is about to happen?

  2. China is well prepared. China said it is prepared for any war with the USA. This indicates that China no longer lacks the confidence to take on the USA.

One area that China needs to do is to extend and monitor its rare earth export restrictions to countries that are allies of the USA. Just how desperate the USA is now facing can be seen in its effort to siphon off rare earth requirements discreetly under the radar, using the UK and South Korea to bypass the Chinese ban. The UK and South Korea had been exposed by China over their massive increase in rare earth buying from China in recent times, compared to the norm, when their present needs are not providing the necessity to do so. Those frenzied buying spree has only needed one reason to explain, reselling to the USA. China has to plug this loophole fast and in saying that, China is coming up or has come up with a new vetting system to stop the leak.

Trump is now livid and jumping up and down, with most people saying that rare earth elements is the culprit, accusing China of breaking the agreement they made in Switzerland. What agreement is he talking about? Was there a written piece of paper, which Trump can tear up at his whims and fancies anyway. The two countries have not even discussed the terms and concessions, and with Trump's recent actions against China, nothing is going to move forward.

Once again, they USA side is speculating that Xi will need to call Trump in the face of Trump's raging madness. Xi will not call him, that is for sure, after all the attacks that Trump made against students studying in the USA, the further steps he is taking by banning countries from providing China with EDA software for semiconductor development and trying to strangle China by forcing banks not to provide loans for Chinese companies.

    1. China is going to teach Trump and his White supremacist a lesson they cannot forget. China is unlike Japan, being trampled upon and having no cards to play. China had also been through such trampling by the White gang before and learned the lessons well. Trump and his White supremacist are going to find out that China makes all their cards and knows how to play the game as well.

  3. Rare earth is the other 'Archille Heel' of the USA military power besides the US$ hegemony. Every weapon that the USA needs to make - fighter jets, submarines, aircraft carriers, missiles, drones are all highly dependent on an unlimited supply of rare earths.

Why should China provide the means for the USA to make weapons to target China. It makes no sense.

    1. Scott Bessant claimed that China's containment of rare earth is curtailing global trade on purpose. What about USA containment of China in the development of high-end chips? What is sauce for the goose is also sauce for the gander. The Chinese are just paying the USA back in its own coin, nothing more. What is there to talk about unfairness? The USA wants a trade war and is getting one.

Scott Bessant has been pushed to the wall and has no more cards to play. The next couple of weeks will see a total collapse of supply chains and empty retail stores facing the USA consumers. Bessant still thinks Xi will have to call Trump to talk. The silence of Xi so far is causing Trump and his administration much misery, desperation and hair tearing.

To quote Robert Di Niro, playing the role of Al Capone in the untouchables warning his nemesis - 'You mess with me, and I will mess with you'
