Even though China's military spending is much lower than the USA, there is more bang for the buck. This fact is quite instrumental, as there is so much corruption and siphoning of USA military spending that goes under the radar.
We have heard of US$600 toilet seat covers being supplied to the military. We have heard of bags of some kind of nuts and bolts costing the USA military US$90,000, that people on the streets can buy for US$100. Such is the kind of spending that the USA military is being clobbered by contractors.
The above are just two examples of the kind of rip-off that is ongoing in the USA military. What about the weapons and shells made for the military? I believe the same modus operandi of slaughtering is being carried out. Bombs are being charged to the military at prices that literally cost a 'bomb'. No wonder the cost of a reaper drone is about US$30 million. And its performance lags even a civilian drone made by DJI costing a couple of thousand dollars. And F35s are so expensive, costing upwards of US$110 million each. But no sweat, since those weapons are sold to countries around the world, who are paying through their noses.
So, the USA Government is blindly being ripped off by the likes of the military contractors and players. Life is so good for them that they want wars to be perpetual. And the Military Industrial Complex is a known component of the Deep State, with huge influence in Congress. It is a black hole with the Pentagon unable to explain for the US$ trillions that could not be accounted for.

When we point finger at American military related issues, we also must remember that the player involved in this game also include those other countries that did the purchase, namely Taiwan & Sinagpore.
ReplyDeleteIt takes two paws to clap.
DeleteI could not help thinking that they are actually proud of the corruption going on in the USA Military Establishment.
ReplyDeleteTheir response to the Los Angeles fire shows that the country is not prepared for emergencies at all. This is a National Security Issue that has not been their top priority to take care of. All the leaders talk of every day are sanctions, tariffs against China, war mongering threats, invading smaller countries, instigating regime changes, giving aids to Ukraine and Israel while ignoring its own domestic failings.
ReplyDeleteAs in the Hawaii fire a year back, it was also an issue of the lack of water or poor water management, resulting in fire fighters having no water replenishments at fire hydrants to fight those fires. In a situation like this, even having a million fire engines is useless. This is the same in Los Angeles. And it clearly shows that the USA's infrastructures are indeed failing apart, though they are more concern with China's bridges falling than their own shortcomings.
What about the USA's military response in times of war? If it is the same mentality as Tai Chi boxing, how is the USA going to fight a multi front war? Every day they are proud of comparing USA weaponry, aircraft carriers, F35s against China and hyping up their superiority. Let us hope they continue to do so.
The moral of the story is, never point out the mistakes of the enemy and try to correct them.
