Trump made an unprecedented gesture to invite Xi to his inauguration ceremony as the next President of the USA. Superficially this looked fine and friendly in the context of bi lateral relation between the two top superpowers and Trump's often claims that Xi is his good friend. At face value, and diplomatically, Xi should reciprocate the friendly gesture and accept the invitation.
On the other hand, looking at the big picture and Trump's character and past behaviour, Xi should simply decline this invitation, which would give Trump a chance to attack Xi, that he tried to be nice and friendly but it was Xi that was unfriendly. Another victory lap for Trump.
There is no reason for Xi to accept the invitation given what Trump has been doing these few months, and recently after his election. Trump has been calling China, China, China with many derogatory terms during his last administration and during his campaign for election. And Trump has also been boasting about how tough he is going to be on China, threatening extreme tariffs and sanctions against China. And these are not the only offensive things that Trump did against China. Trump has named a cabinet full of anti China hawks, showing his intent to attack China at all costs. Trump cannot be trusted and his solitary gesture of inviting Xi must be taken with great apprehension as to what this rascal is up to, mostly no good.
Xi cannot have forgotten how Trump was complicit in the arrest of Meng Wanzhou while having dinner meeting with him in the G20 meeting in Buenos Aires in Dec 2018. That was a very rude behaviour of a scum. Xi would never trust Trump a second time and would be laughed at if this rascal does the same trick on him while attending his inauguration. If it did happen again, Xi might as well stay in the USA and resign from his post, not to return to China anymore. Being cheated once is excusable. Being cheated a second time by the same rascal is unforgiveable for Xi.
Thank God that Xi made the right decision not to attend the den of liars, criminals, rascals, cheats, criminals and inscrutable gangsters.
Xi's decision must be noted by all Chinese officials not to be taken in by the rascals and lying gangsters in Washington. Not a word from them can be trusted. And their intention is hostile, to bring down China, even going to war. Dealing with such rascals should only be on official business only and kept at arm's length. Do not be taken in by their fakery and treacherous behaviour and antics.
Good riddance to bad rubbish. While Trump may be gloating publicly that Xi is his good friend, Xi would not share the same feeling for him.
Xi should decline but send a nice CLOCK to the orange loser as an inauguration present.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, there is no plausible reason for Xi to accept the invitation from an insincere person like Trump. China really has no preference over who sits in the White House, and any indication that Xi is now going to attend the inauguration is tantamount to supporting Trump. Xi attending the inauguration might even be construed as having indicated a preference and may be accused of interfering in USA elections. It is best for Xi to avoid dealing with rascals, villains and charlatans.
ReplyDeleteSomeone commented that Xi should decline the invitation diplomatically by telling Trump that he is too busy dealing with the 'Trade Wars' initiated by Trump since his first term as President, LOL. That will be a veiled insult for Trump to digest, without being brutal.
Xi honestly has no love lost for either Biden or Trump. Diplomatically he and his fellow leaders have to follow protocol by meeting them and their representatives when they visit China for talks. That is not a sign of weakness as some had been saying. Other than that, I do not think Xi even wants to see their hypocritical faces.
Trump is playing ball with Xi, probably giving Xi some tricky decisions to make with his invitation. According to some Chinese social media sites, Xi may just delegate some junior leaders to represent him, maybe even China's ambassador to the USA, complemented by other junior Government leaders.
DeleteThis is one way for Xi to discreetly show how much significance the inauguration of Trump means to him. It may be a big occasion for the USA, but Xi will probably downplay its importance and demands no necessity for him to attend.
Xi does not travel that often, only on special trips of major significance, like the remembrance ceremony for the victims of the NATO strike on the Chinese Embassy in Yugoslavia, a discreet message to tell NATO that such an act is never forgotten. That trip was also tied in with a state visit to France, Serbia and Hungary
Xi cannot afford to be humiliated by Trump a second time, this time in Washington in front of all the Americans and the whole world. He would have no where to hide his face if scoundrel Trump did another Meng Wanzhou on him.
ReplyDeleteIt is not too far fetch for the Americans to announce the arrest of the daughter of a Chinese leader during Trump's inauguration, and with Xi sitting on stage, smiling and clapping for Trump.
ReplyDeleteWhat would that mean for Xi to the Chinese people and the rest of the world?
Accepting the invitation is a very dangerous move for Xi and could lead to his downfall. There is nothing to gain. Trump and his gang, the whole lot of hillbillies in Washington, are bipartisan in wanting to bring down China. Period.
Chinese leaders must have no delusion that the Americans will be nicer to China if they behave like Ah Q, doing the bids and calls of the Americans...and stupidly refusing to learn after being lied to and cheated by the Americans for so long.
How come Pinky was not invited? Remember he used 16million tax payer money to to invite Trump & buddy Kim over for talk cock sing song session. At the least, he should have a sit in the coming Trump inauguration. Or maybe Trump don't even remember who is that sissy he meet..haha
ReplyDeleteNot invited also must go lah!
DeleteXi may accept if it's Trump's funeral if he die in office . . .
ReplyDeleteAssassinated maybe?
DeleteGuns are plentiful in the USA.
DeleteIn the terrorist capital, anything can happen. They can assassinate Xi and blame it on Al Qaeda or ISIS.
ReplyDeleteTrump is a rascal with no morals or principle. He just want to win at all cost. If he can bring down China and Xi, he will do it.
