Losing the war in Ukraine is a loss of face for the USA
and NATO. It is even more catastrophic than losing the Afghanistan War.
Losing to Russia is a very difficult pill to swallow, and finding an
excuse to extricate is equally painful. It is going to set a precedent
for Taiwan that all the USA 'iron clad' pronouncements mean little when
the shit hits the fan.
The USA and NATO thought that mounting
the Russian Bear in Ukraine is going to be a piece of cake, what with
all the seizure of Russian assets and sanctions imposed on Russia.
Little do they realize too late that Russia is indeed a war machine.
Defeating Adolf Hitler and Napoleon Bonaparte was the lesson the USA and
NATO failed to learn. In fact, the USA should already have learnt its
lesson in Afghanistan, the 'Graveyard of Empires'. The USA thinks that
with its military might and support of NATO, Russia is toast. Now, it is
the EU that gets toasted.
The world is now looking at the
failure of sanctions in all its glory against Russia. The most
sanctioned country in history is doing better than all the sanctioning
doggies. That is the biggest irony. What a slap on the face of the USA,
EU and all the doggies!!

Destroying Russia (together with China) was the intention in order to enable the USA to retain its sole superpower status and the US$ hegemony. Destroying Europe's industrial base was the prelude to lure back manufacturing to the USA. In other words, destroying both Russia and China was and is the ultimate goal.
ReplyDeleteThe Ukraine War was the perfect timeline for the USA to take advantage of the start of selling expensive energy to Europe, which was further aggravated with the bombing of the Nord Stream pipelines.
Cutting off Russian oil means Europe has to turn to the USA for a large part of its energy needs, a situation already evident from the sanctions against the Nord Stream pipelines during construction. The writing was already on the wall, with Angela Merkel the only obstacle, as Nord Stream 2 was her project. But the USA had the opportunity to put its foot down when Olaf Scholz lost his marbles and bowed to every dictate of the USA.
Olaf Scholz basically helped the USA to punish Europe and his own Germany of all countries, by refusing to give assent to turn on the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. Not only that, but he even went ahead, helping to destroy it.
France is also in trouble with reported recession in its industrial sector. There is no way Europe can hope to progress and hang on to industrialization, without cheap Russian energy. In fact, the EU was able to prosper over the decades leveraging on cheap Russian energy. Now that is gone for good.
ReplyDeleteRussia is unlikely to pivot supplies back to Europe and the USA is strongly against that possibility. Which is why destroying the Nord Stream pipelines was to prevent Europe going back to Russia for energy when the Ukraine War reaches its conclusion, thus competing with the USA once again.
The USA cannot realistically compete with Russia energy supply to Europe. USA gas delivery by ship to Europe is never going to be cheaper than Russian gas through pipelines. It is a no brainer to compare.
