The USA's belief is that the US$ hegemony is now so
integrated into the global economy, nothing is going to dethrone it. Let
us hope they keep believing in it and let BRICS carry on its mission
uninterrupted.
On the contrary, Trump is beginning to realize
the consequences with his 100% tariff threat against countries joining
de-dollarization. The democrats have kept their paranoia and insecurity
under wraps so far, with neither Biden nor Harris touching on it. They
obviously think that it is a sign of weakness to admit the reality.
The
USA turning a blind eye was a blessing in disguise for China's rise
over the last three decades, thanks to the fight against terrorism that
diverted the USA's attention. China's rise was never an issue, until the
middle of the last decade. It was a frantic move by the USA to try to
keep China down with trade wars, creating chaos in Hong Kong and
Xinjiang, hyping up China's move against Taiwan, and China's South China
Sea expansion.
Anti-de-dollarization is going to be the modus
operandi of the USA and the West going forward, which is going to
fast-track de-dollarization more than trying to sabotage it.

Do not be deluded that Trump will end the war in the Middle East and Ukraine. It is not going to happen. The MSM is now hyping up the assassination attempt on Trump by Iran. True or not does not matter so long as it enables the USA to find an excuse to target Iran and continue with the Middle East War. Trump never walks the talk if he can help it.
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, ending the war in Ukraine could be a possibility, now that Russia is having the upper hand, and the West knows that it is just a matter of time before Zelensky capitulate. Of course, fabricating a Russian assassination attempt on Trump is out of the question, knowing the history of Russia gate, and Trump and Putin's relation over the years. Despite all the false pretenses by NATO, especially Olaf Scholz about helping Ukraine despite his own political future in doubt, it is just political grandstanding, nothing more. Face saving is now very important for the USA and its European allies, after failing to erase Russia from the face of the earth by using the 'Mother of all sanctions' to collapse Russia. Who had been hoping for the collapse of Russia must be suffering withdrawal symptoms by now, just like Gordon Chang's China collapse, a prediction that had been renewed every year.
The Middle East will just continue to fester and escalate, Trump or not, and you can be sure of that. Trump has a lot of baggage carried over from his first term which he will have to fulfill. The point is that more demonization will come the way of Iran, even with fabricated evidence just as in Iraq. There is nothing the USA will not do just to attain its sick agenda of creating forever wars.
The USA just cannot do otherwise than sustaining a war economy. Manufacturing is not its strong point to uplift its economy today. That is why it is resorting to so many underhand tactics just to keep competitors down, which is an exercise in futility. This has been its modus operandi for decades against countries rising too fast like Germany and Japan. China is just unfortunate to be its punching bag today for the same reason. But China is not France or Japan. China is now a peer competitor in every endeavor, a situation that the USA has never faced before.
The second Trump Presidency will all be about taking out Iran and countering China. Tackling internal problems are not on the agenda.
DeleteThe first Trump Presidency was all about taking out North Korea and countering China. Tackling internal problems were also not on the agenda.
The tariffs war will fast track the de-dollarization moves. When countries are threatened by Trump's tariffs, do you think they will just let Trump slap them on one cheek and turn the other cheek for the USA to slap?
DeleteThey now have an alternative and that is joining BRICS countries to continue trade without needing to export to the USA and face the tariffs. Common sense will keep things in perspective. And that is going to hasten de-dollarization, whether the USA like it or not. As more trade is carried out among BRICS countries, less is going to be denominated in US$. This is the reality.
There is no stopping de-dollarization. It will only be a matter of whether it will be fast or gradual, nothing mysterious about it.
DeleteDe-dedollarization ?
