Incorrect. The KMT leaders were mostly from the north or central China. The Hokiens were a neglected fringe group, the province surrounded by high mountain ranges, not easily accessible then.
The Hokiens in Taiwan were there before the KMT fled to the Taiwan. Thus there is this hatred for the KMT by the Hokiens, mostly locals, having migrated there and settling down in the island decades or centuries earlier.
