Who is writing and deciding on the narratives for Singaporeans?

China foreign policy not winning fans, but its Africa investment is - Nirmal Ghosh, US Bureau Chief

Tensions lowering European business confidence in China - Jonathan Eyal - Global Affairs Correspondence

Blinken visitss Tonga, warns of  'problematic' behaviour' by China - Reuter

The questions that remain over China's removal of Qin Gng - Tan Dawn Wei - China Bureau Chief

Above are 4 headlines in the Straits Times today and yesterday. Readers should be excused for thinking that they are reading American or western media that are anti China and attacking China daily with all the negative news about China. They have nothing good to say about China, only saying things that are unfavvourable to China. Using falsehood and duplicitous behaviours are standard practice for the American and western media. To them this is war. To the innocent and naive, they did not think much of it and blindly allowed themselves to fall victims to these malicious American and western media.

Channel News America, financed by the American $600m war chest to spread lies and hostilities against China, paying journalists, reporters and academics to demonise China with negative reports and articles, has been very active all over the world. Their attacks on China are relentless with blatant and outright lies, fabricated news and propaganda. This propaganda war using main media has been going on for ages and lately becoming more vicious and direct with white men's lies without any apologies.

Are Nirmal Ghosh and Jonathan Eyal Singaporeans? They seem to be writing most of the main news about international affairs that appeared in the ST. By their writings, they are big influencers on the readers of ST and their views would be unconsciously accepted as the main narratives. If they are not Singaporeans, would Singapore allow foreigners to influence the thinkings and views of Singaporeans instead of Singaporeans writing from the perspective of Singapore and the interest of Singaporeans? Or the views of these two journalists are the views of Singapore and therefore allowed to be perpetuated almost daily in our main media?

What do you think? Should important and major news that affect the interest of Singaporeans be written by Singaporeans?

  1. Singaporeans not good enough to write serious international news?

With world class universities, with many educated in top Ivy League universities in the West, all turned out to be duds? Must rely on foreign talents in everything, even in writing opinion pieces?

  2. Hi All

Not only propgrated and demonised against China.

Nothing good to write about them and awaiting any trivial bad news to hail their downfall and demise.

Shits Times and Channel News America are all the propgranda mouth pieces for the Papies.

Especially very demeaning to anyone that challenged the Papies.

All good only for their Errections Candidates.

Devoted voulumus pages and speeches for them with extremely good looking posture photos.

Whereas the Opposition Members are highlighted in their bad not so nice photos.

Also use taxpayers monies to fund them so as to propgrate more propgranda for the Papies.

How to beat and match their ingrained machineries of one sided affairs.

The worst is that Sinkies been supposely so well Electrocuted or Edicated are so naive and dafts to swallow any damn propgranda by them.

    Sinkies names very apt

    Tweet from @OopsGuess:

'China will build a canal to Southern Thailand to ensure energy and trade security. At present, China relies on the Strait of Malacca, which is under the control of the Singaporean government and is vulnerable to geopolitical influence and may be hijacked and blocked by the US, posing potential risks to China's economic interests.

China wants to reduce this risk by building the Kra Canal on an isthmus in southern Thailand. In total, $20 billion will be spent on the project.'

Singapore, in being so pro American is committing economic suicide if this canal is built.
The new Tuas port would be a white elephant when ships could save time and money bypassing the Malacca Straits.

SinkiesLAND doggie had allowed UAssA Naval Feets to be station here to blockade the narrow passage mah.

What's their nonsense Rules Based UASSA Orders.

Unless China have no choice but to send their Brand New Up to date Naval Fleets of Fuijan or Hokkien and have a big party here at the doorsteps of SinkiesLAND and we be sank to the bottom of the Straits of Singapore. No need Straits of Melaka.

That's the Evil Agenda of the Americunts.

You think China men never think of the Western barbarians Evil plans?

That's why they kept planning and have other alternatives overland routes like the BRI and the circumcision of the Isthmus of Kra to bypass the S.O.M.

Also tried to cajole Matland to have their Northern Eastern side to have more ports especially Trengganu where they had Petronas Oil that could supply China.

Mats stupid stupid lah. So many businesses opportunities with China to earn foreign revenue and surpass Sin Dollar no want.

Now China not I'm hurry lah. They have overland routes on their side to the many Middle Eastern States to connect their oil supplies from Russia etc.

Also their Xingang with abundant not drilled yet tons of oil Wells.

That's why the Americunts robbers are so keen to cause havoc and chaos there so that they can have the oil to themselves.

Americunts daylight robbers only no need work, just robbed lah.

  8. Thank God, I stopped reading ST more than two decades ago. I missed nothing. Someone said that ST is only fit for picking up dog poo. Even with more dogs today, the fake circulation numbers tells the whole story. That shows that ST is not even fit for dog poo.

Right you are. Last time now already shifted away cheap skate neighbour used to come and asked us for the hard copies Shits Times for her doggies poos.

Ever seen one very interesting one with a dog pooing it's poo on the face photo of Dotard Trump?

Yet Dotard just smiled and shake his body.

As for the inflated copies advertisers are paying more for their advtgs and thus is considered cheating under the Publications Act's.

Here, Sinkieland all their old flames are named "SUE"

Using big hatchets and Cement pounders and sledgehammers to sue and pound anyone that challenges them even in trivial matters.

Talked about principles and intergrity whereas their own had tarnished their so called values.

Can said we did not straightway censured them as their scandalous affairs are less serious than Corruptions.

Also CPIB Chief must asked for approval. Under the PM Office.

Thought Anti Corruption Agency is Independent and is impartial and should have investigated straightway.

    Why must ask PeeAyam ah?

What's happen if they really wants to cover up?

    1. Just to add some more can praised ownselves that their PMs as in the past did not hamper these investigations.

What's if that scandal and Corruptions are so damning that they would bring down the total collapse of their Government and their Party?

Reported first for them to access the situation ah?

      To disclose or not?

CPIB should not be in the Jurisdiction of the PM'd Office.

      It should be Independent Enity.

  10. CNA's policy is to have locals write their own news from a local perspective.

Why assigned such an important role to foreigners to feed foreign biased views to the locals and pay them handsomely when they could use the same money to pay local journalists and analysts?

  12. One perhaps newly minted Indian Sinkie has written an inflammatory article for the WAPO abt China influencing ethnic local Chinese with support has gone viral. In particular, she writes abt the Chinese Sinkies and Zaobao.
How ironic its the ST that is most openly pro American sourcing its news stories and OPeds from US and western news agencies and think tanks that even China hater Hudson Inst given a platform to peddle their CN filth. She even collobrated with CN fake news creater ASPI and quotes Bilahari Kausikan without balance from sane geopolitical strategic academics like Kishore Mabubhani or George Yeo.
Is she trying to sow anti Chinese discord here by shilling for the American hegemon here?

  14. Hardly surprising that Indians in Red Dot are spouting anti China rhetoric in Red Dot as well.

Indian sites like 'Firstpost' are the worst anti-China propaganda mouthpiece of the Indian Government. So much so that even Indians themselves are asking why they are not taking up the issue of the Manipur chaos and concentrating on peripheral issues that does not even convern India, like looking for answers as to why China is dismissing its Foreign Minister. Where are the site's priorities they asked?

The site even had the audacity to ask about companies leaving China and whether India is their destination, without looking at the other side of the coin of companies leaving India in droves. Nothing about Wistron, Foxconn, Xiaomi having trouble in India, and why India is dead set against BYD's venture with an Indian company to build a manufacturing facility in India. Is this the way that India is attracting investments into India to become the next 'factory of the world' to overtake China?

I think this is another blessing in disguise for BYD. The same way it is a blessing

  16. There are political issues to building the Kra Canal that had been talked about for decades, on and off. Thailand is a rather unstable country with coups happening all the time. Investing so much money into the project could be risky with any change in the Thai Government, especially with foreign interference in its domestic affairs.

That is why China had to embark on the BRI land link to Europe and not just hedging its bets on one area alone. Moreover, that Kra Canal is not within the total control of China and the Thais will have the biggest say.

China is also actively looking into ventures with Pakistan, with port developments and pipelines running all the way through Pakistan and/or Afghanistan, enabling Middle Eastern crude oil to be rerouted via pipelines into Western China, instead of the Straits of Malacca. That China always thinks decades ahead is no mean boast.

China is also exploring the feasibility of cutting another canal across Nicaragua to rival the Panana Canal. Of course the West is now hyping up the consequence of that canal on the environment, but we know the real reason is it will compete with the Panana Canal, now controlled by the USA.

  17. Singapore is excluded from new Pew Research Centre survey report this year after favoring China more than US last year! The survey covered only 24 countries, mostly anti-China.

ST's Nirmal Ghosh avoided mentioning Singapore's exclusion in his column.
