What are the important takeaways from this Meeting desperately called upon by the Americans but totally disinterested to the Chinese? The media reported that the talks were candid, substantive and constructive but without anything to show. The other giveaway was a comment by Hua Chunying that hopefully it would rewind the relationship to the meeting between Xi and Biden at Bali.
There were many things unsaid about the Meeting but are more meaningful to describe the relationship between the US and China. The first point is about American behaviour. They stirred up a storm because of a weather balloon to a state of hysteria, shooting it down with a F22 fighter and filled the pages of all American media in the biggest and most sensational circus of 2023, and culminating in cancelling a planned visit in February by Blinken. This was followed by panic station, desperately wanting to make the trip again, preempting any views from China, broadcasting to the world that the trip was on, with or without the agreement and approval of China. What did all these say about American behaviour? A bunch of silly clowns not knowing what is serious and what is clowning.
I think the most important part of this visit is that American preeminence in military power is over. The Americans wanted to continue to provoke China and mess around in the East and South China Seas but are afraid that China would shoot at their warplanes and warships. This kind of fear never exist in the past. The Americans were so arrogant during the Taiwan Strait crisis to sail two aircraft carriers through the Strait to intimidate China with no fear of being attacked and sunk by the PLA. Today this kind of arrogance would be seen as madness. Even stationing the aircraft carriers east of the Philippines did not make them any safer as they would be sitting ducks for the Chinese anti carrier missiles.
The flying and sailing of warplanes and warships close to Chinese shores are a guarantee for destruction by the Chinese, if a PLA soldier or pilot presses a wrong button. In this Meeting, or a code of conduct for engagement is what the Americans are hoping to get, to protect their trouble making pilots and sailors in Chinese waters and airspace. The time they could stand in front of the Chinese and beat their chests like big bullies is over. The Chinese only need a needle to prick and puncture the bloating arrogance of the Americans.
The Americans may still want to strut around in the western Pacific, but they are now at the mercy of the PLA. Any miscalculation by the PLA would mean terminating the lives of American pilots and sailors. And China has all the reasons to miscalculate, to make errors, to return the favour of the bombing of the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade, killing several Chinese embassy staff. Taking down a few American pilots and sailors should be in the Chinese cards and waiting to happen. And the Americans know that the Chinese can do it, and would do it. It is a matter of when, not if.
The Meeting is as good as the Americans admitting that they have lost control of the western Pacific to the Chinese. China is in absolute control of the region by air and by sea, under the sea and above in space. The Americans know this and better take note that they could no longer strut around with impunity.
The Americans needed this Meeting to protect their cowboy gangsters from mishaps and miscalculations by the Chinese. The Chinese are ready to kick their asses and they could not respond like bombing Iraq to the Stone Age. The Chinese would respond in a similar fashion and style should the insane Americans dare to misbehave. This also shows that the Americans already know their place in the western Pacific. All the cries and bravado are for show. There is genuine fear that they would have to bite the dust or drink radio active contaminated waters from the Pacific Ocean.
On the other hand, China does not want to talk to the Americans, knowing that it would be a waste of time. Blinken would have raised the intent of Biden to visit China and hoping for a return visit by Qin Gang to Washington. Both were met with a stony silence. What is the point of a visit by Biden who did not know what is happening, can't remember anything, if any, at best for the Americans' domestic consumption, to raise the stature of Biden and Blinken. Now, read this again. Today, a meeting with Xi or a visit by a Chinese leader to the US, is a great event for the Americans. If Xi refuses to meet with Biden or any American president, the latter would lose prestige to the American public.
At the last hour, Xi agreed to meet with Blinken. This is a major concession by China. Xi did not plan to see him, expecting that nothing substantive would come out of the Blinken Qin and even Blinken Wang Yi meetings. Apparently, for Xi to change his mind, Blinken must have agreed to something that is meaningful to China. What is that? Whatever, it is only words and can be dismissed or ignored after the Meeting. Words mean nothing to the Americans. Even agreements can be torn to pieces by the Americans.
For now, China is prepared to take Blinken's words at face value, likely for the last time. China had been duped by the Americans many many times. Every time, after a meeting, China thought the Americans would honour what they said. But when the Americans left the meeting, they would do the opposite. China would be watching what would the Americans do after the Meeting with Xi. Biden's trip to China depends on it.
The Meeting shows that China is gaining more confidence in dealing with the Americans and would not meet them if there is nothing useful and substantive to talk about. No more wasting time on American lies and wild accusations or meddling with China's internal affairs. China would set the agenda for talks or there will be no talks and no visits if China finds it unnecessary.
China would be watching the Americans every move from now. Would the Americans be sincere and wanting to move forward to build better relations with China? Can Blinken and the Americans be trusted? Wang Yi told Blinken, the Americans have to choose between conflict or cooperation with China. The ball is in the Americans' court now. This is the last chance for the Americans to mend relations with China.
Incidentally, American aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan is in the South China Sea and China is not pulling punches. 5 Chinese 052 warships surrounded the aircraft carrier on its journey. This is the first time that China has done this, looking at the Americans eye to eye with warships against warships. A miscalculation could sink the aircraft carrier.
PS. After listening to Blinken's press conference post meeting Xi, I am quite disappointed that Xi made the effort to meet him. Blinken disclosed that he raised the issue of Taiwan and human rights in Xinjiang. As for Taiwan, Blinken quoted the Taiwan Relations Act which is a unilateral American law to interfere in China's internal affair. This is a hostile Act against China, to interfere and defend Taiwan. Blinken also repeated American position to sell arms to Taiwan and would not want a change in the Taiwan situation, ie, to keep Taiwan separate from China. Why would Xi regard these as acceptable? And why would Xi, Wang Yi and Qin Gang agreed to Blinken raising the fake human rights issue in Xinjiang during the Meeting?
Having said these, I do not see any real change in American policies on Taiwan, and the provocation and interference would continue. If China regards Taiwan as the most important of its core issues, China would be badly disappointed once they see the Americans continue with what they are doing in and to Taiwan. The Chinese would feel very silly to think that the Americans have changed and would not interfere in Taiwan, an internal affair of China.
The Americans would interfere and would not allow Taiwan to be reunited with China. Period. The Americans' one China policy is a China with Taiwan as it is now, not independent but separate from China permanently. Is China going to live with this?
China got duped again. Caveat, unless something was agreed on the Taiwan issue that Blinken is not saying in the press conference.

DeleteBlinking Idiot visit to China
I am disappointed that Xi did met with Blinken. He shouldn't lower himself. Let Wang Yi deal with him is good enough for protocols sake.
ReplyDeleteIn any case, that meeting close no gaps which is apparent in the view of China and the USA. Xi must be thinking, if you want to play the game of peace pipe smoking, but planning for war and provocations, let us play along with you.
My view, China has not surrendered yet. What is unsettling is that China is not seizing the moment when the Americans are drowning in debt and fighting a losing war in Europe, to be tough with the Americans. The shadowing of the Ronald Reagan by 5 PLAN 052 destroyers is a major move coming after confronting the American spy plane and the antique American and Canadian warships recently.
ReplyDeleteFor Blinken to crawl to Beijing uninvited is a sure sign of desperation by the Americans. What is silly of the Chinese is for Blinken to continue to talk about human rights, Xinjiang and Taiwan, which are none of the Americans business. Is China so weak or so foolish to let the Americans into their house to tell them they are not happy with this and that?
Chinese foreign ministry needs to grow up and take the bull by the horns, carry a cane and whack if necessary if they want to be respected, if not feared. If they are afraid to stand up like a man, they are inviting more trouble from little countries as well.
China must not have the delusion that they can have the whole world to love them. Many countries would never love them till kingdom comes. Many would hate the Chinese for their own silly reasons.
ReplyDeleteChina should work for more countries to be friendly with China. As for countries that are unfriendly or hate China, China should take a stand, to make them fear China and would not dare to poke at China. This is a more practical approach to deal with devils, punks and silly little countries. If they are unfriendly, make them fear you and stay away from you.
When Blinken can talk about human rights in China, genocide in Xinjiang, Taiwan independence, in a press conference in China, it is a big slap in the face of Xi and the Chinese Foreign Ministry. It is absolutely showing no respect for Xi and China.
ReplyDeleteWake up Chinaman, stop being a fool to the Americans. If you allow the Americans to treat you like a fool, they will do it, in Beijing as well.
China and its Foreign Ministry need to revamp their obsolete thinking and policies vis a vis the Americans. If not they will lose respect and support from the rest of the world. The world is looking up to China to stand up to the Americans, not to be bullied by the Americans. If China wants to be the leader of the Global South, it must act and behave like one.
Before the visit, people from the USA's MSM were already commenting that Blinken had been humiliated by the Chinese for inviting himself to Beijing.
ReplyDeleteAfter the visit, people from the USA's MSM are crowing that this was a victory for Blinken and the USA over China, and that China has surrendered to the USA over its tech war containment of China. Propaganda at its best.
Really? Did China, in desperation, invited Blinken to Beijing to talk about the tech war or about peace? China in fact placed little importance to the visit, with scarcely any widespread reports over the intended visit. And is China really being forced to reluctantly accept the status quo of the USA imposed tech war after Blinken's visit?
All the talk about that visit basically comes from the USA side. Now, who actually was deperate to talk to whom? Even Barely-conscious Biden is now spouting the narrative that he hopes to meet Xi over the next couple of months. Did Xi ever said that he wants to talk to Biden as China is in a desperate situation? Will Xi invite Biden to Beijing or vice versa.
What position of strength is the USA talking about? A position of strength means you invite the other party to your country to pay obeisance, just like inviting African leaders for the USA/Africa summit, or ASEAN leaders to Washington to be humiliated. All were talked down by the USA as the one in a position of strength, were they not?
If Wang Yi or Xi were invited to Washington just for talks on the tech war and Taiwan, I would accept that the USA is now in a position of strength. But the reality is, Blinken invited himself to Beijing under orders from Blinken. So, who is actually in a position of strength? It was already a de facto humliation that they envisaged before the visit.
Talking about position of strength, which was the same undiplomatic language used by the USA when they met the Chinese in Anchorage, Alaska in 2021, Blinken and his team was given a tongue lashing by Yang Jiechi, who told him, in no uncertain terms, that USA is not qualified to 'speak in a position of strength'. The USA side went home with tails between its legs, licking their wounds and unable to talk much about it. Who dared to talk like this to the USA before?
Lavrov: When the Ukraine Conflict Ends, Globalism Will End
ReplyDeleteBy the time the conflict in Ukraine is resolved, Kiev will have accepted the loss of its former territories, and Western-led globalization will be dead, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told RT Arabic on Friday.
Speaking on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Lavrov described the West’s proxy war with Russia as “a geopolitical conflict,” in which the US was attempting to eliminate a powerful competitor and “preserve its hegemonic position by all means.”
“The attempt is futile, and we all know this,” Lavrov stated, adding that Ukraine and its backers will be forced to accept new “concrete realities” before a ceasefire is reached.
The era in which the US and its allies control the institutions of globalization – primarily development banks and multilateral organizations – will come to a close.
It would be too much to say that the Russians planned it this way. Clearly, they did not. We can see from the initial invasion that Putin and Lavrov assumed that the US would negotiate. Anyone who suggests that the Russians are so stupid they believed they could conquer a nation of 40 million people with 150,000 soldiers is just lying to you. The initial invasion was obviously a negotiation tactic.
What they ended up with – the whole world on their side, and a lead role in the new world order – is more than they could have ever hoped for.
It was a perfect storm. Everyone was sick of the US for an entire list of reasons, the most recent being that the US is in the process of forcing the whole world to participate not only in gay sex but in child gay sex.

Talk about issues doesn't mean China will cave in to them or agree with them. China now does not care what the USA thinks or wants to talk about. China will treat them as non issues and let its actions decide, just like its demonised BRI projects and its stance on Ukraine vis a vis Russia. Did China turn against Russia despite all the attempts to pressurised China to condemn Russia. It all falls on Chinese intentional deaf ears. Just like the USA talking about China's evil intent in Africa, human rights abuses and LGBT issues in Africa, which the Africans just completely ignored and let the USA and the West bark as loudly as they want.
ReplyDeleteChina does not care about what the USA or the West thinks about Taiwan's independence. It is what China thinks that is important, and China need not keep repeating its stance over Taiwan again and again. Taiwan is part of China and they can invent scenarios to turn the de facto position of Taiwan to no avail. They can tell the whole USA leaders and people to visit Taiwan, but that will not change the position of Taiwan in relation to China.
China, as the fool today, is overtaking the USA in many ways, and that makes the USA an even bigger fool to ignore China for the last four decades. Yes, the USA had concentrated on fighting terrorism and the Muslims in the Middle East over the last few decades, thinking Chinaman are fools and just laundrymen and cooks, that can never rise up to compete with them. If China has lost so much respect from the rest of the world by being a fool, why are so many countries joining BRICS and garnering so many praises from African, Latin American and Middle East leaders. Not to mention five big Central Asian countries are now co-operating with China in development and trade ties.
Now, who is the fool, trying to contain China after it has risen to compete with the USA? Never try to look down on Laundrymen and Cooks? Just like never look down on Africans, which the USA and the West is still doing, calling Africa a 'shit hole'.
Didn't the Chinese took the cane and whack the USA in Anchorage, Alaska in 2021? I guess that has been forgotten by many complaining that China is giving in to the USA in everything.
ReplyDeleteWhen Trump enacted the trade war, he even warned China against retaliating. China retaliated nonetheless when its interest is at stake. Does that show that China is giving way to the USA in everything?
When the Biden administration enacted the technology war against China with the Chips Act and calling its other doggies to sanction China over chips supply, didn't China retaliate against Micron, eliciting the USA to respond to such action as 'economic coercion'.
China will take up its response after calibrating where it is going to hurt in the long term, not like what the West did with Russia and got itself into deep trouble with the backfiring energy crisis consequences. China acts in the long term in mind, invest its actions in the long term and will not act on the spur of the moment, in anger and without calculating the price of its actions.
Europe provides that very important lesson against Russia and paying the price.
ReplyDeleteTrust the Anglo-Saxons at your own peril. What's the use of meetings and talks when afteer each meeting and talks they go back and do something different. The native Americans smoke peace pipes with the whites but after each puff they find themselves pushed further and further back to more desolate deserted reservations euphemism for labour camps.
China must realize that the US thugs adopt meetings and talks as a ploy to plot further their evil plans against China. The American leopard can never change its spots. To prove their sincerity China must insist they denounce and renounce all their diabolical militant doctrines of aggressions like the Doctrine of Christian Discovery, the Doctrine of American Manifest Destiny, the Doctrine of American Exceptionalism, the evil Darwin Doctrine of Law of the Jungle and the Paul Wolfowitz doctrine of stopping all other countries from progress and development to catch up with the Americans and for the Americans to smash any country that shows signs of becoming a regional or global power. If they can't undertake this promise to show their sincerity and peaceful change in attitude then all that China can do is to prepare for a final showdown with the Americans that the Chinese must win at all cost.

Watch the video clips on Blinken's trip to China. The protocol from the aircraft to the State Guest House, Diaoyutai, was plain and spartan. No red carpet, no welcome cheer teams, just one member from the Chinese Foreign Ministry. Blinken and his group were sent by coaches to Diaoyutai. Qin Gang met him at the door.
ReplyDeleteThe protocol was plain ordinary. Not for a VIP. This is how China made it known to Blinken, that Blinken was not an invited guest of the Chinese government. He came knocking at the door to be invited in.
I could not understand why the MSM and others keep harping on the danger of an economic collapse of the USA as also going to collapse the whole world economy. Is this the reality? Can someone explain. Maybe there will be disruptions for sure, but not leading to apocalypse as they sure like to paint it as such.
ReplyDeleteI would even think that the collapse of the USA would be a happy occassion for the rest of the world to celebrate. Nothing different from breaking free from a noose around the neck, that is being tightened slowly to squeeze the life out of you.
Will USA collapsing lead to other countries stopping work, their trains not running, farmers stop growing grains, oil production halted, banks stop doing businesses, malls closing down, businesses folding, the taps not delivering water, the lights stop working, rivers stop flowing, or the sun not rising from the East. Countries holding USA debts may be greatly affected, but ordinary beans?
ReplyDeleteLife still must go on, goods can still be exchanged using barter, like Iranian oil for Chinese infractructures. Trade can still be done away from the US$.

Wow, reporting secrets to Bidamn.
World must be cautious of this SNAKE
In the press conference in Beijing, Blinken said that the US is in constant touch with BRICS member India to know what is going on in BRICS.
ReplyDeleteModi just flown to the US to brief Biden about BRICS. Great intimate relationship and India would be greatly rewarded by the Americans.
OMG, what we expected has come true, if Blinken said that. India is indeed a Trojan horse inside BRICS. Modi is visiting Biden to report on BRICS agenda, and will be richly rewarded, with promises of more tech companies investing in India. They will get along fine, both having forked tongues and speak the same language.
ReplyDeleteJust saw it in CNA.
ReplyDeleteModi's visit to US. Biden said 'Unprecedented trust in US India relationship'. And Modi is there to brief him about BRICS. How are the BRICS members going to view this development?
Biden also called Xi a dictator. Hey, did he remember that Blinken just returned from Beijing and relation is supposed to stabilise? He forgot, or he is not happy after Blinken briefed him of the meeting? If the latter, that the Blinken trip is a total washout and things are going to get worse, not getting better. What happened?
Commenting on the trip, Biden told reporters that Blinken did "a hell of a job," and said "We're on the right trail here," Reuters reported. Biden has said he hopes to meet President Xi in the next few months. GT
ReplyDeleteIf Biden continues to smear Xi, he thinks Xi would waste time seeing him?
Aiyo, Xi just simply gave the Asses Face to meet that Blinking Idiot.
ReplyDeleteSee after handshake Xi just simply walked away to his seat.
