China's Ministry of Civil Affairs on Sunday standardized the names of 11 places in Zangnan (southern part of Southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region) in Chinese characters, Tibetan and pinyin, in accordance with regulations on geographical names issued by the State Council, China's cabinet.
Zangnan, or South Tibet, is the name the Chinese government refers to the state of Arunachal Pradesh, which is located in India’s northeast. China lays claim to around 90,000 square kilometers of the land of Zangnan (the southern part of China’s Tibet) as part of the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) of China.
It is a legitimate move and China's sovereign right to standardize the geographical names. The official names of the 11 places were released by the ministry on Sunday, which also gave precise coordinates, including two residential areas, five mountain peaks, two rivers and two other areas. It also listed the category of places' names and their subordinate administrative districts.
This is the third batch of standardized geographical names in Zangnan issued by the civil affairs ministry. The first batch of the standardized names of six places in Zangnan was released in 2017, and the second batch of 15 places was issued in 2021.
Zangnan is located in Southwest China's Xizang region which has been China's territory since ancient times. In order to strengthen the standardized administration of place names, China's move to standardize the names in Zangnan completely "falls within China's sovereignty" and it is also in accordance with the regulation on the administration of geographical names.
It is more meaningful to safeguard national sovereignty, maintain peace in border regions and manage border-related matters at the legal level. For instance, some river names were standardized, making people more aware of China's territory.
A revised rule on the management of place names by the State Council came into effect on May 1, 2022. The regulation requires strict management over the naming and renaming of localities and sites.
The names were written both in standard Chinese characters and Tibetan, reflecting the respect for ethnic culture in accordance with the law. Meanwhile, the third batch of standardized names added corresponding pinyin, which will help people to remember and identify these place names more conveniently and accurately.
Indian external affairs ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi claimed: "Arunachal Pradesh has always been, and will always be an integral part of India. Assigning invented names to places in Arunachal Pradesh does not alter this fact.”
Chinese President Xi Jinping had said China cannot give up “even one inch” of territory that the country’s ancestors left behind.
The Indians are nervous over China's coming moves to reclaim its lands that will stolen by British India that are now administered by New Delhi.

PS. Arunachal Pradesh was carved away from China by the pen of a white man coming from the British isles. There was no India before 1947.

ReplyDeleteGood morning All
China renames six places in Southern Tibet: A revenge for Dalai Lama's visit.
India said its belonged to India?
Haha let see.
Cheers
India should be focusing on how to extract repayment of £43T plundered and pillaged by Little Britain rather than making ridiculous claims over China's southern Tibet.
ReplyDeleteThis can be planned with the support of Russia and China. The first step is for India to lead the way to abandon the post colonial 'Commonwealth games', and demand the return of the Koh-i-Noor diamond as first down payment. By not including interest on the 43T, India will be viewed as being fair minded and generous.
- It is best for India to collect installments on the 43T in gold, yuan, rubles and rupees, and of course payment in kind should also be negotiated.

DeleteWell said!
With that can built India into a Metropolis.
Metro Polis just like the Americunts Gangsters Polis.

Still this Zulfiki insisted must spat National Language as Polis and Block as Blok.
Blok Heads ah?
Virgo. What are you talking about.
ReplyDeleteOnce worked in Port Kelang as Rep for Spore Office.
DeleteAlways took the 10pm wagon train two bunks beds to KL just from my block NOT blok to the KTM station and then switch by their socalled MRT transit to PK at KL main terminal..
Most of time in JB first stop normally very seldom have another joker to share cabin to KL.
So most transits whoa whole cabin to myself.
One fine trip had one young JB guy happened to share same cabin.
In conversation with him he said going back to hostel in KL for his medical studies as a Dr.
Asked him studying in English?
No, he said Malay as their National Language. Whoa big big thick medical books.
But also shown me his English Medical Books of same studies.
I said so many medical terms that laymen also cannot pronounced properly and you must study in Malay ah?
He said ya then we translate from Malay to English.
My God, I said why made you buggers so difficult?
Why don't straightaway study in English when even the English educated found hard to pronounce at that initial stage of studing until maybe as they weny along in their further studies.
Why when so many of the. malay words that are literally translated into English because you all dont have the modern terms or words for them.
So Block simply became Blok.
Why? Must be wise and pragmatik lah.
Why use a language when you required new technology studies to keep up the times?
And you dont have them? Just simply translate them leaving up certain alpahets?
This is what's I am talking!
Matahari had set back a whole generation of his own people just for thr sake of Ketuanan Melayu and handicapped many in processing to modern technology.
Zul, just ignore him.
ReplyDeleteI can't even find the 'Pound' symbol on my keyboard. Is the 'Pound' going to disappear soon.
ReplyDeleteOn second thought, Little Britain can just print and print the 43Trillion to repay India. They have been doing that, quietly for decades. I still remember in the 1960s when the Pound was worth S$7.3. Now? Shrinking like the Empire itself!
