Asean is gaining approval from the Americans for interfering into Myanmar's domestic affairs

Asean's voice is getting louder over the execution of Myanmese protesters. This is music to the ears of the Americans. You can see how happy Blinken was during the Asean foreign ministers' meeting with the big powers in Cambodia. The more vigorous Asean is in demanding Myanmar to heed Asean's terms, the happier will be the Americans.

The interference of Myanmar's domestic affair is setting a precedence for Asean to interfere in all Asean member's domestic affairs. In other words, Asean is behaving more and more like the Americans, poking its fingers everywhere. Asean members in future would have to accept Asean fingers poking in their asses. And as Asean gets use to meddle with member countries, it would gain more confidence in what it is doing, like punching above its weight. Asean may then extend its behaviour of interfering in other member's domestic affairs to interfering in non Asean members' domestic affairs. Prime targets would be the domestic affairs of China and Russia.

For whatever Asean dares to do, with tacit American approval and goading, there will be countries that it would not dare to poke its fingers in. Number one will the American affairs. Holy shit, this country is out of touch from Asean. Asean knows what it can do and what it cannot do. And of course the Anglo Saxon countries would also be out of Asean's reach. India would be an exception. India would screw Asean from the top to the bottom if Asean is callous enough to dare to mess around with India. Then there is the beloved Japan, a very peaceful and civilised country that Asean looks up do will also be spared from Asean poking its fingers into its domestic affairs. Both the Americans and Japanese are no longer the beasts and butchers of the past, committing genocides against the American natives and Asians in Asia.

Asean has grown up, strong and confident, with the Americans' approval, to act like the Americans, to poke here and poke there. What neutrality? What non interference in members' domestic affairs? When Asean's head is swelling with every pat from the Americans, it has forgotten its core principles of neutrality and non interference in other member countries domestic affairs. Now it is par on course.

The Anglo Saxons would be very happy with the new Asean. Maybe can change Asean's name to SEATO, the southeast version of NATO. Nice, Asean is now recognised by the Americans as a regional power, maybe can assume the role of Sheriff of SE Asia or Asia.

The new Asean has a bright future under the enlightened leadership of the Americans. Which Asean member would be next for Asean to dig its fingers in?

  1. The United States on Friday (Aug 5) said Beijing can ease tensions over Taiwan by ending its "provocative" military drills.

And then Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan said Asean countries want temperatures between the United States and China to come down, especially with military manoeuvres in the region.

Sounds like someone taking sides and unashamedly parroting his lord

  2. Asean is heading down the slippery slope of becoming a trouble maker. It is dropping its principles of non interference and neutrality.

  3. In response, Beijing says it is the US that started the provocation, and if really care about regional peace and stability, why didn't stop Pelosi from visiting. The US, Beijing says, is the initiator of the crisis and should bear all the consequences.

If a certain state in the US tried to separate from the US and form a separate state, and another country provided it with weapons and political support, would the US government and people allow it, Beijing asks.

Pelosi's visit seriously damaged China's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, and South Korean President wisely snubbed Pelosi by not meeting her face to face. But Singapore . . .

  4. UN did not condemn Pelosi's visit to provoke China and raise tension in the region.

Asean thinks poking Myanmar's internal affair is more important than the provocation and tension caused by the Pelosi visit. No condemnation. Why?

  5. Why are the ASEAN Countries so obviously taking sides with the Evil USA?

On the one hand, they never condemn the Evil USA for intentionally provoking China. On the other hand, they are so fast in poking into the internal affairs of Myanmar, thereby sacrificing their long-held principle of neutrality.

What is the World coming to?

The dogs seems to be behaving like good obedient dogs, always baking in unison with their Master?

What the held is the United Nations doing?

  6. Many can see the little red dot in diplomatic circles acting in lockstep with the US, although a recent PEW survey shows its population (> 60%) has a more favorable view of China than the US. The head is not in sync with the rest of the body.

    1. Yes, truly the head is outrageously out of sync with the majority of the population.

The head could be infected by the Covid-19 bugs or something.

But this has been the trend for many years already.

Moreover, it is too small to go against such a formidable foe. Therefore, it is better to tow the Evil Empire's line.

Hope China understands. That's why China is still not angry in any way.

  7. South Korea seems the wise one, with the President avoiding contact with the Witch. They know China is important and the North is watching. After all trade with China is more important than the USA. They made the right decision. The South Korean President was said to be on 'staycation'. Is that really important? The message to the USA is quite obvious.

But there is a price to be paid by South Koreans. We shall know that in time to come.

  8. The USA is already using NGOs supported by NED and others, funded by the USA Government, to instigate regime changes in Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia and Thailand.

Singapore and Philippines already need no regime changes. They are very trusted supporters of the USA.

So, in ASEAN, if they succeeded in instigating regime changes in Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia and Thailand, what is their objective? Contain China of course. The same agenda as in Europe where they keep encroaching and expanding NATO to contain Russia.

  9. https://www.taiwannews.com.tw/en/news/4617111 This imported Taiwanese Singaporean billionaires are showing their muscle to donated US100mil to Taiwan defences. Unfortunately, Myanmar may not have this type of naturalised billionaires for support. Naturalised Chinese sg billionaires may have loss face for not donating to China PRC. Wondering what is the implications to sg FIC law.

  10. ASEAN has a bright future. Agree. But which ASEAN member has the brightest future? Singapore of course. The only ASEAN country invited to the White House to meet with the Ogre of the Evil Empire not long ago.

The USA does not trust the Philippines, which was the perennial favourite for decades.

  12. How did this Ou Yang Li-hsing died? Died of heart attack? Or committed suicide?

Either way, this looks bad for the Tsai person.
