- Our 4Gs are very daring and adventurous - going where no one else dare!
India was a colony of the UK, their legal system was adopted from the UK laws, many countries follow the Indian Penal code as it is developed with the best legal minds of UK. This legal system was much better than the Chinese legal system when India gain independence, also India is a democracy compares to communist China.
However China has leapfrogged India in a few decades in many many aspects. What is the main difference?
Heard from the grapevines that when one of the local banks headhunted its top honcho from one US bank, on the first day of work when he was presented with business plans and projects - all projects and business in the Indian sub continent to be suspended. Heard that the American bank where he was headhunted had lost tons and tons of money there.
In a country where even the central government had endorsed a project, the company still needs to deal with local and provincial officials. Everything needs to be greased to move. Many companies were lured in by cheap promises, only when they set foot and sinks in the money, the demands and problems starts piling up - many times the budgeted amount and all cannot be accounted on paper!
In our neighboring country Malaysia, one company Sime Darby - a conglomerate computed that since they are paying so much to the banks for their services it would be cheaper to have their own bank. Yes the Sime Bank came into existence but they never deal with some of the untouchables who ask for loans and overdrafts and many others but never repay those loans and overdrafts etc. These work out to be even more costly than bank charges! Sime Bank had to merge with RHB. Lesson - never ventured into unknown territories which looks greener from the outside.
I can only say good luck to the daring 4Gs. - tanhh
A wise man once said, "When considering which countries my company should invest in, I won't touch country X with a 10 foot pole"
ReplyDeleteCountry X has a notorious record when signing deals whether at the government or corporate level. They only believe in win-lose deals, otherwise they won't deal with you. In other words, if you ink any deals with them, you have already lost
They will seek every opportunity to fine u, screw u in any way possible. And when things don't go their way, they will threaten to take you to the world court to seek "justice"

ReplyDeleteThe world is at an inflection point.
It may be the end of an era of relative peace and prosperity underpinned by economic integration and adherence to the UN Charter.
The decisions made over the coming days and weeks will be absolutely crucial to the new world that is emerging, especially for us as a tiny city-state.
We must uphold the existential principles of mutual respect for sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of all nations, big and small. We must support a rules based world order and always aim for the peaceful resolution of disputes.

Protecting our kids with vaccination even as Ba.2 continues its decline.
Already Europe is facing new surges from the Ba.2, as their earlier Omicron wave subsided. This is bcos the earlier Omicron infections including the Ba.1 do not fully prevent re-infection with Ba.2.
There are some studies which suggests that the more infectious Ba.2 does offer better prevention against Ba.1 reinfection, than the other way around.
So in a sense, Sg is lucky that we weren’t so hard hit with either Delta or the Ba.1, before the Ba.2 took over and is now nearly 100% of the local cases.
However, the rapid emergence of the Ba.1, Ba.2 and Ba.3 and their sub-sub-variants is a reminder that we should be prepared for more new variants to come.
The new variants to come would clearly be more infectious if they appear within this year.
This is bcos with the Ba.2 now becoming dominant globally, it takes a more infectious new variant to displace the Ba.2. This presumes, of course, that the Ba.2 offers prevention protection against the potential new variants to come.
If the new variants can break through the immunity of the vaccines or the Ba.2 infections, then we may yet see 2 different waves of infections criss crossing each other.
So to be safer, we should vaccinate our kids wherever and whenever vaccines are available.
The vaccine scam is getting more and more ridiculous and the pharma getting more greedy. Knowing that their vaccines are nothing better than placebo, they keep on asking the people to go for booster after booster. And with the virus mutating, every new mutation is used as a justification for more boosters.
ReplyDeleteWhat a convenient con game to get people boosters and the pharmas laughing all the way to the banks with a half baked vaccine.
Just support the American warmongers and the world would become very safe when they nuked everyone.
