Tharman for PM again?

Tharman recently gave a speech to open the IMAS-Bloomberg Investment Conference, talking about how the World faces the ‘perfect long storm’ and why concerted global action and investments are needed.

Just read his speech for yourself and you can see for yourself the quality of the intellect that he has.

It really puts to shame out whole bunch of useless, incompetent, and overpaid 4G ministers such as CCS, OYK and even LW.

Which of them have the type of deep understanding of world affairs such as Tharman does?

Most of them are talking nonsense (such as the backside Doctor KPK) and are sorely lacking in substance as you can see from their handling of the covid pandemic.

In fact I think he’s the most qualified person to be our next prime minister. Even at his age, he looks extremely young, sharp and energetic....

Prabu Ramachandran

Above is part of an article posted in TRE with the title Tharman for PM. For many a long time, Tharman for PM has been the talk of the town but met with silence from the PAP.  And Tharman himself has for many a long time been saying he is not interested in the job. Another typical Singaporean reaction, saying that they did not want high paying top jobs, like CEOs of DBS bank or any other govt linked companies where the govt could conveniently appoint them there if they simply say they want the job. But since they did not want these high paying jobs, including the CEO of Singapore's biggest provision shop, NTUC FairPrice, the govt got no choice but to pay handsomely to headhunters to go to third world countries to hunt for the best village talents to fill these posts. Singaporeans simply love to be their own boss, to drive taxis or be security guards.

For umpteen times, people have been calling for Tharman to step up and say he wants the job, and proposing him as the best man for the job. Would Tharman continue to say he did not want the job, or feel so uncomfortable when people continue to ask for him and be forced to say ok? Whatever is the reply of Tharman, yes or no, he would be in a difficult dilemma.

Such calls must be very haunting to the 4G waiting in line. Almost there but may not be there, like Anwar Ibrahim.

This is a very uniquely Singapore situation in many ways. Who would finally be the chosen one, by man or by divine intervention, to be the next PM of Singapore? Whichever way, whoever becomes the PM of Singapore, the declining good fortune of Singapore is looking dimmer by the day.

How long can Singapore continue to be blessed when all things are not looking well, including the unexplained, mind boggling and chest thumping hypes about Ukriane that shocked every thinking Singaporean and the world. Asean leaders are also scratching their heads in bewilderment. A kuching kurap little red dot poking the eyes of the Russian bear like David and the Goliath.

What do you think?

'YEREVAN, March 14 - Sputnik. The member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and China will develop a project for an independent international monetary and financial system. This was agreed upon by the participants in the economic dialogue "A New Stage of Monetary, Financial and Economic Cooperation between the EAEU and the PRC. Global Transformations: Challenges and Solutions", which was held on March 11 via videoconference. It is envisaged that the system will be based on a new international currency, which will be calculated as an index of the national currencies of the participating countries and commodity prices. The first draft will be submitted for discussion by the end of March. As Sergei Glazyev, Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics of the EEC, emphasized, China was the first in the world to move to the stage of national economic recovery.'

  5. Taman has indicated years back when he was still a DPM, that he was not interested for the post of PissMan. The white emperor made his decision to appoint Sweet Cake as DPM, and to take over the emperor post, but later Sweet Cake affirmed that he gave up seeking a short runway as the reason. Taman does not wish to clash with the white emperor and they oso claimed that Sinkingland was not ready for a non-Chinese PissMan. So, no point harping for Taman again, unless he is daring to form an opposition party to challenge the white emperor !

  6. I agree that Tharman is "smart"..that why he don't want to be PM..just by sitting on the sides & still can collect million $$ salary..so why take on PM responsibility. Maybe his pay is even more than PM if you add those $$ that come from sitting on "board" of big organisation + speeches given.(wondering whether he even need to pay taxes for it??)

If you look at all the "nice" speeches he had given over the years.. have you ever wonder whether he actually walk the talk?? or he just like to talk cock sing song lampar song.

Have he ever come out any policy that is good for singaporean?
Have he ever rebuke/vote against his own party policy?
Have he ever agree/listen to opposition or people like you & me on our feedback/complain..or just treat it as another shit.

When he was the education minister, his slogan was "teach less learn more"..until today I still don't know what he mean?

Can someone enlighten me, what have he done for singaporean, to make our life better??
He is just like a lecturer who teaches business studies, but had never start/run a successful business and the students think he is good.

Never have another PM from pap, they all worship the same $$lee$$ god period.

    1. His last act as Finance minister was to raise the duty of petrol and diesel when opportunity was there with low oil prices. Now look at the prices affecting not just private individual drivers but also all businesses that depend on transport.

Even if you discount the govt subsidy across the causeway, Malaysian petrol prices are still a steal.

Tharman for PM? He is just bird of feather in the PAP nest, only can speak more intelligently than the rest.

  7. Tha Man said that years ago that he is not interested in the Pee Ayam position. That was when Indian support was relatively low in the establishment. Now, it is different. The Istana Deity is Indian, The Chief Justice is Indian, The Central Bank chief is Indian. The foreign Indian legion has grown much in the interim. Last I heard, even Fairprice Chief is also Indian. So, what is the surprise that Tha Man is now interested?

  8. Singapore..small country with big problems eh..Singaporeans really ingrained that only PAP can rule? Only a chosen one can replace the chosen one? .. Singapore will flounder if the stat boards are not filled with coat hangers.. that the only qualification u need in stat boards n glcs is your ability to plp or better still who u marry or which hole u emerge from.. writing is on the wall.. sickly looking or not..he can contribute..perhaps as much as his father's last 15 years as an mp. If anything.. Singapore can talk the big game..but who cares really..the citizens can see the failures of your grand designs..Jewel..gbtb..your endless digging to add another 50kms of railway..we exchange that for peace tranquility n sensible governance any time

which Singaporean would say 'No'.. ??

All Singaporeans are greedy and look after self interests..

    and PAP knows it.

The PAP knows it long ago. They used the three weaknesses of Singaporeans to exert total control, namely greed, fear (kia si) and selfishness.

There was that historic upgrading carrot hung out at every General Election and they fell for it. Now they realise that at the end of 99 years, however much upgrading there were, all will become useless rubbles. Upgrading suddenly became an extinct issue over the last few General Elections.

The most ridiculous example of PAP spreading fear was during elections in Hougang years ago, when one PAP hotshot, at a rally, warned Hougang voters that if they vote in the opposition, rubbish will pile up to the 3rd storey of their HDB flats. Obviously Hougang voters have more backbones than what the PAP thinks and voted opposition nevertheless.

  14. Singapore is a meritocracy. The Indians are better than the Chinese. So the Chinese appointed them to important positions.

  15. How come China many times better than India huh ?

    ReplyDelete
  16. They took off almost equal up to 1990. Thirty years later China's GDP is almost six time that of India's. Does that indicate the Indians are better? Take off those blinders please and see the reality. Only in Red Dot can the Indians think of themselves as better and no where else. No shame?

They are still dreaming while many have become unemployed statistics and the country is been swarmed by foreigners taking over everything.

  22. The Man has no conviction to serve the People or the Country.
Cannot blame him, even a selected one finds reason to run-away to serve the Puny State which is like running a mamak stall but paid like the CEOs of GIC, GLC, DBS, Changi Airport and other State Enterprises.
I suspect they know the Fate of Sin is sealed.

Where will Sin be is quite obvious.

  23. He'll be good for business & banks here. But unlikely for him to be chosen by the inner circle of PAP. PAPies are cunning & have their fingers on the ground as to what the masses prefer as PM. Currently only Indian s'poreans or the richer & more sophisticated s'poreans overwhelmingly support him as PM. But they only form a small minority of S'pore voters. PAPies are aware.

Keep steady if we test ART+.

Check oxygen levels and call your doctor if it drops below 95%, and go straight to the A&E if it drops below 90%. You are having a silent pneumonia.

Check our oxygen level regularly before any covid infection to get a sense of our oxygen levels, as our baseline reference.

We should normally be between 95%-100%.

Some people may have lower oxygen levels at 93%-94%. These include folks who are smokers, or have chronic lung conditions.

If so, folks with lower than normal oxygen levels, should use that as their baseline, and watch for any drop that is more than 3% from their baseline as an alert to call their doctor, and treat any drop of 5% or more as an emergency alarm to go to hospital.

  25. Singapore, officially the Republic of Singapore, is a sovereign island city-state in maritime Southeast Asia. It lies about one degree of latitude north of the equator, off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, bordering the Straits of Malacca to the west, the Riau Islands (Indonesia) to the south, and the South China Sea to the east.
