Is honesty a good thing? Not in Singapore any more

Survey: Singaporean students more honest than those from US, UK, Australia

Above survey is posted in theindependent.sg. Is this supposed to be a praise or a dig against Singaporeans? Though I agree with the finding, I shiver at the thought of it, at the silliness of Singaporeans for trying to be honest, for being brought up to be honest and throw into the deep blue sea to compete against the dishonest sharks and hyenas.

Honesty was a good thing in the past. The govt under the first generation of leaders made it a point that all civil servants and politicians must be honest. This is the first judge of a person to be enlisted in the premier service and to become politicians, to become super talented politicians. If one is dishonest, out you go.

And it was easy then to find out if a Singaporean is honest or dishonest. Check with the teachers and the schools. Check with the people he mixed around, his neighbours and the neighbourhood. Singapore is such a small place and everyone knows everyone. There is no where to hide, not even your grandfather's past. all can be dug out when needed.

And the system worked then. Honesty is a must and nearly all Singaporeans are honest. And after many years of living inside a tiny bubble of honesty, the daft, oops, honest Singaporeans also think everyone in the whole world is like them, all honest Abel. They can never imagine that other people can be so dishonest. They cannot believe that foreigners coming to Singapore looking for jobs can present fake academic records, claiming certificates and degrees from fake universities.

And because Singaporeans are so honest, all the fakes with their fake certificates and fake universities are happily hired, as their fake certificates and degrees are printed in genuine high quality paper, like gold, and all of these fake foreigners are hired to be the bosses of Singaporeans.

And the rest is history. Singaporeans are now mostly unemployed or underemployed, sacked by the fakes to protect themselves, so that no one is around to question them or to check on their fake certificates and degrees.  Today, many qualified Singaporeans with their real degrees from world best Singapore universities are jobless and have to drive taxis or deliver food to be gainfully employed.  Some of them now have to learn to fake, to be dishonest, to tell their employers that they did not have degrees or diplomas or they would be over qualified and would not get the jobs as drivers or security guards.

Honesty, honest people, competing with the fakes, the cheats, stand no chance. They would be outsmarted by the cheats. And the saddest part of it, when the cheats are caught, they simply got a smack on the wrist. Some could still be employed by the imbeciles even after being caught for cheating.

Maybe honesty is no longer value in Singapore. Only the daft Singaporeans continue to be honest and stupidly believing in honesty. Come on, go ahead and cheat in your exams and change the grades to all As. Or simply buy from degree mills printed in good quality paper. The employers love it. The employers would say this is smart, not dumb. If you can't cheat and ended up unemployed, blame yourself. The foreigners are so talented. Everyone armed with the best degrees from the best universities and with excellent grades and experience, from little villages from God knows where.

Honest Singaporeans would not stand a chance with their degrees that cannot be eaten.  Serve them right. Being honest is equal to being daft and being unemployed or becoming drivers and delivering food or checking people at entrance of buildings, food centres or shopping malls. If there is no Covid19, dunno what these daft Singaporeans would be doing.

What do you think?

    1. “In a court of fowls/CHICKENS, the cockroach never wins his case”:

The weaklings do not ever get justice because of their nature. This proverb addresses the social injustice that makes it difficult for people who don’t have “connections” within political circles to enjoy their rights and privileges.

PAints the "di lee mma" we are in.......

  2. A nation build upon the foundation of obedient, subservient, kiasu, kiasi and honest joes, ah bengs, ahmads and rajoos will never survive in the next war. Be it a localised war (with Malaysia and Indonesia) or a World War.

This will be the fate of Singapore and Singaporeans being conditioned and subdued by the PAP's power-hungry, selfish, self-serving, self-enriching, self-gratifying, self-praising and self-centered Elitist Lee-der-sheep.

The glory of the PAP will be short-lived by its own doings. It is in fact digging its own grave day by day, without realising it.

  4. It was a Sunday morning sermon and the pastor's topic for his sermon was 'Thou shall not steal for stealing is a sin.' On that same afternoon the pastor found two big fowls of his neighbour in his garden. He caught them and cooked them for dinner. His son of about eight years old asked his father, "Father why did you steal the neighbour's chickens?" "Didn't you say in your sermon this morning that 'stealing is a sinful crime?" Oh! don't worry son, the sermon is for the people. But we are different because we have God's special blessing with two big fowls. We didn't steal because they are sent to us by God. So, don't worry, just enjoy and eat it with God's blessing."

This is Western democracy. This is Western values. This is Western human rights. They all can be bent and twisted to suit the powers that be's warped agenda. Anyway, not surprise because this also Singapore's adoption of Western values, democracy, human rights and of course twisted morals and honesty.

  5. Not true that Sgreans r most honest as compared to the whites US, UK & Aussies; this honesty thingy is true ONLY WHEN SG R STUDENTS, once they graduated most of them will change & adaptable to the environment, that's why in the media occasionally some corruption or cheating cases popped out on the media. Sgreans r the most worse cheaters in the world that's why kena caught easily whereas the foreigners r very street smart as employers trusted them due to cost s and manpower crunch issues. The Sgreans lost out not entirely due to honesty but due to structural bias employments economic costs factors. Honesty is jus 1 of the parameters, how would expect a salespersons to be completely honest when they sell their goods n services?..

  6. S'pore easing Covid-19 measures step by step to avoid U-turns, human cost

Stepping on the brakes every now and then to adjust to changing scenarios is the right thing to do and we fully support that.

PM Lee noted that Singapore was trying to reach an end point without paying the high price many other societies have, which got infected before they got vaccinated.

This was also why it was easing up on restrictions "step by step" even as it moved to living with the virus, "without having had to make unsettling U-turns".

"The terrible trauma that society goes through - you have people who are sick, whom you cannot treat, who die waiting for oxygen or waiting for a bed - I would much rather not have to do that," said PM Lee.

    1. Instead of leading at the forefront of this war with Covid-19, he hides from the main scenes, despite his excuse to prolong his stay in power by saying that he would lead during this Pandemic. Only once a while, when he feels like it, then he makes a speech or a few statements for public consumption.

All motherhood statements cleverly framed to self-praise and deflect blames.

      What a responsible leader!

Who is running the country, really?

  7. Behind a powerful man, there is always a wo-man.

Behind a powerful wo-man, every man either hides under her skirt or hides far away from her.

When an Asian country is ruled by a selfish and greedy wo-man, from behind the scene, its downfall will be swift and sudden.

This is the natural progression of power in the hands of a wrong person.

Hope Singapore will not end up like that.

  8. COVID-19 Daily Brief

There were 3,474 newly discovered and confirmed Covid-19 infected cases in Singapore on Nov 17, 2021. Of course, as usual, many of those infected have not been officially "discovered" or disclosed.

This was a significant increase of 1,405 infections from Tuesday's 2,069 cases.

Another seven more preventable deaths have been recorded in the register for the day, bringing the total number of officially declared COVID-19 deaths to 619, from the low figure of 53 before the living/dying with COVID-19 was launched by the MTF.

There are only 430 ICU beds in Singapore. Luckily, only 112 beds are occupied by Covid-19 patients.

The ratio of community cases in the past week compared with the week before is 0.89. This is irrelevant, misleading and an exercise in futility, because the real figures of infections on the ground have not been taken into consideration.

It is safe to note that for every case of Covid-19 infection that has been discovered and officially reported, there are at least two others that have gone unreported.

In its nightly update on the coronavirus situation, the MOH said that there were 48 patients who were unstable and under close monitoring in the ICUs to prevent further deterioration. This is down from the 54 reported the day before. Obviously because six of them have died or "made to die" by the complications of unknown nature?

Happy "Living, Suffering and Dying from Covid-19 End-the-meek!

Think positively, Singapore must be having special blessings from God!

  10. The US wants to start a war between NATO and Russia so that Russia will not be able to dominate the Middle East or help China, in case the US starts a war with China. All these are based on a conventional war setting.

But, but, but what if the conventional war quickly turns into a Nuclear War?

Answer: The US and NATO will be totally destroyed!

  11. Covid-19 Germany: A Big Lesson And Warning To Singapore

Germany is hit with 65,000 new COVID-19 infected cases and at least 260 to 300 deaths daily. This is the official report. But the unofficial report is that the real figures are at least two to three times of the official figures.

With only 65% of the population vaccinated with the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, which are waning in efficacy, efficiency and effectiveness very fast, it is not only the unvaccinated who gets infected. The vaccinated ones who have their immunity waned, are also getting infected fast. This is the signal for the Fourth Wave of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

This proves once again that those who have allowed their bodies to be poisoned by the Pfizer and Moderna pseudo vaccines have been taken for a wild long ride through the Valley of Darkness led by the Blinds and the Fraudsters.

There is no light and there is no tunnel. This Covid War is still a long way to go.

85% of Singaporeans have been screwed good and proper. By you know who?

  12. Honesty generally is a good policy. But honesty under general lee does not seem to be a good policy, unless you can make use of the par-lee-ment to defend yourself and wash clean your dirty linens in front of the public.

  13. Not something we don't already know - Chinese influence operations and overseas Chinese susceptible to said influence operations.

But end of the day, it is alright if one is favourably disposed towards China, just know which country you are a citizen of and that ain't China. The other takeaway which yours truly already knew and experienced, in this age of Chinese hyper nationalism, don't assume you the Overseas Chinese is one of them for in the eyes of many Mainland Chinese you are tainted and not quite Chinese no matter how favourably disposed you are. It is on them not on you.

"Lofty rhetoric about the Chinese diaspora belonging to a “community of common destiny” is all well and good. But his mainland-Chinese colleagues “look down on us…They think we come from a small, poor and weak country.” He adds: “[They] don’t see us as one of them”. Nor does Mr Lee. He identifies not as a Chinese national but as Chinese Malaysian. "

    1. People who disparage their own ancestral roots are worse than animals. The education thry received has gone to waste. The brain they have in their heads must be filled with Western Propaganda and Bullshits, so much so they think that they are superior to their own kind.

The fact is that the Westerners look down on them as scums behind their back and yet they are so blind and deaf and stupid not to have realised it.

  14. The Chinese would despise all the silly bananas. The bananas deserved to be despised. Period.
Even the overseas Chinese would despise the bananas.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ya, the bananas also despised themselves, hating the yellow skin they are wearing and would dye their hair blond or white to pretend they are not Chinese. They led a miserable life hating themselves everyday for not being white. Such poor things.

They also curse their parents for giving birth to them. They wish their parents were whites.

  16. People that despised themselves for the colour of their own skin, do not deserved any respect.
The white men must be looking at the bananas and seeing how ridiculous they are, everyday cursing at who they are and wanting, acting and thinking like the white men when they are not.
