WASHINGTON: Three quarters of people infected with COVID-19 at public events in a Massachusetts town were fully vaccinated, a study by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) showed.
The study, published on Friday without naming the town, suggested the Delta variant of the virus was highly contagious.
The study found vaccinated individuals had a similar amount of virus presence as the unvaccinated, suggesting that, unlike with other variants, vaccinated people infected with the Delta variant could transmit the virus, the CDC said.
CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said this was a "pivotal discovery" leading to CDC's recommendation this week that masks be worn in areas where cases were surging as a precaution against possible transmission by fully vaccinated people.
The above Reuters report confirmed that vaccinated people are not safer than non vaccinated people against the virus especially Delta variant. It also said that the virus presence in vaccinated and unvaccinated people are similar, ie no difference, just as infectious.
The narrative in Singapore is that vaccinated people are safer though this is changing to one that said vaccinated people would have less severe infection than unvaccinated. Maybe the virus here and those in Massachusetts are different and the virus here are less likely to infect vaccinated people. Any data to prove this is so? Any view, vaccinated people are more dangerous carriers as many are asymtomatic and could be spreading the virus under a false confidence that they are not infected.
Whatever the narratives, the number of new cases is the new and real story. If the vaccines are effective, new cases must go down, not go up. The situations in US and UK are getting worse, more infections and more stringent measures introduced with mask becoming mandatory. And they all use mRNA vaccines, touted as the best by the sales talk with sales figures claiming more than 90% efficacy but losing ground and confidence with new data coming up.
Where is the solution, what is the solution when vaccines are no longer effective? The self denial that vaccines is the solution, the cure and prevention of this virus is growing very thin. Why keep poking and paying when it is not going to be effective?
PS. Vaccinated people infected with the Delta variant might be as contagious as those who are unvaccinated , the CDC says, and urged Americans to start wearing masks again.
Singapore's problem is not the CECA Indians but the imbeciles that allowed them to come in with their virus and to steal the lunch of Singaporeans.
ReplyDeleteSee how tough they are with China. Banning people coming from Jiangsu. The cases in China is big, but not in numbers of infection, 300 in a month. It is big because the effort by the Chinese government is big, going all out to contain it.
Contrast with India, with at least 68% of the country, in hundreds of millions infected, but with little effort to curb the spread, pretending all is well until the imbeciles also believe it and keep letting them come in to infect the Singaporeans.
See who is the problem?
In a top bulletin report on Friday about the resurgence of the virus in China Nanjing and surrounding provinces with more than 200 cases, the BBC host Philippa Thomas kept asking the regional correspondent whether that proved the Chinese vaccines were not effective.
DeleteSomehow, US and UK using the mRNA vaccines are having near hundred thousand infected but no such question was asked about those vaccines.
So it seems all vaccines are the same and why are we still discrimimating against one by not using ground examples but insufficient data as pretext.
Thinking of stupidity has no cure.
ReplyDeleteChina's Covid19 cases very dangerous, growing at an alarming rate, 100% increase, from 3 to 6 cases. Damn serious man!
Countries with 40,000 cases daily very safe, only increase by 4,000 daily, 10% only mah.
Rookie health minister hide data of daily imported cases from high-risk India and come up with dangerous plan to accept the coronavirus as endemic, ridiculously treat the coronavirus like the flu virus and audaciously suggest Singaporeans should live with the coronavirus.
ReplyDeleteThis is how Singapore will integrate with India, government, conomy, population and virus as well...moving towards one country, one India and no Singapore.
ReplyDeleteIn other words, you can vaccinate the whole population, but they still get infected, or should I say become more infect-able going by the Massachusetts' experience.
ReplyDeleteWhat this means is that the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are ineffective for protection, even for those fully vaccinated. Therefore what is the point of touting it's 97% efficacy for? Just a marketing ploy!
To latch on to the original con job before it falls apart, Pfizer is now changing it's narrative and chanting their new mantra that a third booster shot will offer a better protection against the Indian Delta Variant. Is this a fact or just another ploy to con the world and make more profits? The 'no liability clause' is giving them the iron clad protection to make all kinds of spurious claims without consequences.
Now, how is the world ever going to open completely, knowing vaccination is not stopping the spread. Where is the proof in the claim that 'herd immunity' will close down the virus with 100% vaccination? The world has been taken for a merry go round ride by big Pharmas and still non the wiser. Ever wonder why the West is facing an anti vaccination movement? The Massachusetts' claim is going to deter more people from taking the jab.
This study gives the world the real waking up thinking that living with the virus is not going to be that easy. And it drives home the point that vaccination is no longer the protective cover that it purports to provide.
ReplyDeleteThe WHO warned that the global community has to stamp out the present variants before a new monster virus put mankind into extinction. It looks ominous and pretty likely to say the least.
In China, a few hundred cases is blown up into a catastrophe by the MSM. In the West, tens of thousands of cases is said to be under control. See the hypocrisy?
ReplyDeleteCOVID vaccine protection highly likely to wane over time - UK advisers say
ReplyDeleteLONDON, July 30 (Reuters) - The protection that vaccines give against coronavirus infection, and potentially severe disease, is highly likely to wane over time so vaccine campaigns will continue for years to come , scientists told the British government's advisory group.
"It is highly likely that vaccine induced immunity to SARS-CoV-2 infection, and potentially severe disease (but probably to a lesser extent) will wane over time," according to an executive summary of a document considered by the government's Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE).
"It is therefore likely that there will be vaccination campaigns against SARS-CoV-2 for many years to come, but currently we do not know what will be the optimal required frequency for re-vaccination to protect the vulnerable from COVID disease," the scientists said.
The document, titled "How long will vaccines continue to protect against COVID?", was written by prominent virologists and epidemiologists from Imperial College London, University of Birmingham and Public Health England.
The believers and suckers would still be touting that vaccination is important, cannot prevent infection but can lessen the seriousness. Really?
ReplyDeletePicking up a few oldies to prove the point but hiding the statistics of younger people being infected and just as serious is an irresponsible lie.
A swallow does not a summer maketh. A few oldies is just that, not conclusive proof that the liars tried to con the oldies.
When will the believers and suckers wake up and face the truth, that the lies about 95% efficacy is nothing but an outrageous lie, a marketing stance, a sales talk.
It is too painful for the believers to accept the fact that they have been silly and easily conned by the pharmacies. Too shameful to admit that they are just a bunch of imbeciles.
They are still shouting, ho, ho, ho, chin ho, chin ho, to cover their stupidity.
ReplyDeleteThe West now even used 'dead man tell no tales' advertising with people on their death beds claiming that they regretted not getting vaccinated and thus got infected and are now dying.
ReplyDeleteImpossible to disprove that they said that, and nobody can prove the conversation except the person who cannot rise from the dead.
Ingenious propaganda and slick marketing!
People got jabbed and died a few days later, they said not related.
ReplyDeleteThey are so desperate to get people jabbed with dangerous vaccines. Is it because they too have been jabbed and wanted others to go along with them?
Has any of the local media dared to report anything negative about mRNA vaccines? Is this a sign something unscrupulous is going on, when they refused to tell you?
Yes, flawless, so safe, no need to be scared. Everything will be fine.
ReplyDeleteSee, no reports about bad and adverse events. Very safe, very good, chin ho, sibei ho.
A new study of more than one million Covid-19 vaccine recipients has concluded a rare blood clotting side effect is as likely to occur from a Pfizer jab as the much-maligned AstraZeneca vaccine.
ReplyDeleteIn a paper pre-released in The Lancet, researchers from the UK, Spain and the Netherlands said both jabs have a “similar” incident rate of thrombosis.
“In this study we have found the safety profiles of ChAdOx1 (AstraZeneca) and BNT162b2 (Pfizer), an mRNA-based vaccine, to be broadly similar,” the paper explained.
Hahaha
ReplyDeleteThe vaccine civil war is good news for China. Now China can just sit and watch the show.
When vaccinated or unvaccinated, both carry the same virus load and can infect others, does the special privilege to vaccinated people to dine and unvaccinated people cannot dine makes any difference?
ReplyDeleteAll the claims and narratives are falling apart. But not to worry. Necessity is the mother of invention and the vaccine civil war is getting hotter with new inventive narratives coming out.
ReplyDeleteNow it is more like Animal Farm quotations.
ReplyDeleteFirst is four legs good, two legs bad.
Then two legs good, four legs better.
Then they will say two legs good, four legs better, three legs just as good.
Soon they will say two legs good, four legs better, three legs just as good, but no legs best.
It is your choice. Hahaha
Knn not funny Hor as its serious matter
DeleteIndia Is 1,200 Times Stronger
ReplyDelete"Vaccines have been shown to reduce the concentration of virus particles, or viral loads, in the airways of individuals who become infected. But delta is associated with viral loads that are 1,200 times higher in newly infected individuals compared with the original coronavirus strain -- a feature that helps delta spread as easily as chickenpox." - Bloomberg, July 30
This is very very very very very very very very xiong!
DeleteSingapore reported 121 new Covid-21 infected cases, out of which 8 infected cases have been deliberately imported and 113 are new locally transmitted infections as of noon on Sunday (Aug 1). These includie 38 infections with no links to previous cases.
ReplyDeleteThis state of affairs has been going on for about two months now. Yet there seems to be not end in sight.
The Reactionary Multi-Millionaire Multi-Ministry Taskforce seems to be taking it very easy. For example, the newbie millionaire Health Minister is still adamantly going ahead with the "Living with the coronavirus" no-strategy strategy. And the newbie millionaire Education Minister is still using his A-level mathematical calculation of ratio and percentage to decide whether to close the schools so as to prevent our hundreds of thousands of children from being infected by the deadly India Type Delta variant, using all sorts of excuses and throwing the blame onto some parents and teachers who care more about inconvenience to themselves than their children's health.
