SINGAPORE: Singapore will import electricity from Peninsular Malaysia under a two-year trial, said the Energy Market Authority (EMA) on Monday (Oct 26). The trial aims to "assess and refine the technical and regulatory frameworks" for importing electricity into Singapore, said the authority in a press release. CNA
After reading above I could only shake my head. Some were commenting why sold all our power stations away, one to Malaysian owner and now must import electricity from Malaysia? Is this a case of stupidity has no cure disease manifesting itself as another class act, a brilliant stroke of the pen to do the unthinkable and the end result must be good?
It cannot be. It is worse than stupidity has no cure. Remember our water problem and over dependence on Malaysian water and always got threaten and held at ransom by Malaysia? After great effort and expenses and enduring all the threats, Singapore finally broke free from this Malaysian blackmail by building several reservoirs of our own.
Now this. We had several power stations, now have nothing, all sold. Then we are going to the Malaysians to buy electricity. Are we not putting our head on the chopping block once again, to be held at ransom, to be threatened, from being independent of electricity, self sufficient to becoming dependent on Malaysia, our great friend up north all over again?
Who is the genius that came out with this brilliant idea? Or who is the 'khong cum' strategist who is putting Singapore into another compromising and precarious situation again? From self sufficiency to dependency from our most reliable friends up north. Mahathir must be smiling at the stupidity of it all. 'Can squeeze your balls again!'
Clap, clap, clap.
Is this part of the plan and requirement for 10m population?
PS. I am wondering if Singapore has a national body looking after the national and security interest of the country, like protecting strategic assets, like making sure foreigners are not put into positions that would compromise our security and national interest, like in charge of banks, control of IT systems, demographic distribution, in defence matters, control of the media and national narratives, etc etc?
Great.
ReplyDeleteWe gonna pay less for our electricity bills.
lt is far cheaper to generate electricity power in Malaysia and therefore we should be paying much less for it.
Cheers !!
How many cents did they pay to Malaysia for your water?
ReplyDeleteHow many dollars are they charging you?
Many people need to be paid in the millions. Where do you think they are going to find the money to pay them?
ReplyDeleteHaha......
ReplyDelete57% do not mind paying leh.
So,
what is the Problem ?
Willing buyer and profiteer dancing together happily. This is the Marvel of Sin.
Unique !
1. Ownself have five strategic National Installations that produce power.
ReplyDelete2. Sold three to foreign powers - China, Indonesia and Malaysia - two of whom are potential war time enemies. Why?
Because the Jinx lost $billions and need to cover up balance sheet at end of year to reflect profits instead of losses. Cunning people said sell strategic assets and use that sales proceeds as profits to show balance sheet not in the red mah.
3. Now, got not enough power for long-term use. Must set up one long-term power supply project an Australian conman in Darwin.
Wah! So clever one. Forgot the Thailand fiasco from buying Taksin asset so fast already?
Some more, Australia is so far away and separated by vast Ocean of water. How to transfer the electricity all the way to Sinkingland?
Spend money again to build underwater cables or pipelines? Money ownself print one, don't need taxpayers to pay, is it?
4. Now, in the mean time, buy electricity from Malaysia. Water problem not yet solve, now create another problem?
KNN, what type of strategic planners and thinkers are there in the High Almighty Palace, in the Kingdom of The Blind?
This shows not only incompetent, inefficient and ineffective but also self-suicidal tendencies. Must be greatly invaded by cancerous cells into the brain already. Otherwise, how to explain this kind of cockup thinking?
What father built, son destroyed. This is called RETRIBUTION.
ReplyDeleteProbably in exchange of something or other projects or favours that the public was kept in the dark。
ReplyDeleteIn the final analysis, Singaporeans will also be sold and new citizens are bought over to run the lifeline of the little piece of rock. Then the Aristocats can have a rock n roll fun life for their children and grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteThe emperor without clothes on really does not know what he has been in for. The cunning tailors who have been tailoring to his desires have been very busy providing him with all sorts of new clothes.
ReplyDeleteThis usually happens when an egoistic charlatan takes over the throne and starts surrounding himself with a bunch of money-bought loyal eunuchs whose job is solely to please him and say good things to his ears.
Worst of all is to have a dominating, over-bearing and greedy concubine who has an insatiable appetite for power and wealth, over and above the bunch of scheming eunuchs.
Sin is in the process of self destruct. The hole is too big and cannot be plugged. Plugging one hole will lead to opening of more holes.
ReplyDeleteAll these manipulations will only lead to higher cost of living, not to benefit the people. And they will continue to depress wages, no minimum wage and the poor at the bottom would bear the full burden of higher cost of living.
ReplyDeleteGuess how long
ReplyDeletewill Sin last ?

ReplyDeleteThe answer to your question is "YES"!
There is this big nose Pinocchio. He is incharge. But he frequently fell asleep even in Parliament while the debating sessions were going on, and in full view of the public. What do you expect him to do behind closed doors in his own office on cloud 9 at the ivory tower?

That is called "Slaves Driver".
Aiyoo Redbean, stop your scaremongering attitude lah. This is only for a trial period of 2 years. If not good can always opt out. So why worry, must explore all possibilities. Maybe there is a strategic move that you and I do not realised. If it become a good arrangement for both sides then can extend the contract beyond 2 years. You may be right that this is for the 10 million population to come. Singapore being land restricted can always pay for the construction of a nuclear plant. Maybe this purchase of power from the north is a prelude to a nuclear plant.
ReplyDeleteAnon 7:14pm, how old are you?
ReplyDeleteSingapore has been dealing with Malaysia since 1965 and it is already more than 50 years of nightmare. If you still did not learn anything, then you are seriously ill with the stupidity has no cure sickness.
Heard of the saying, a leopard would not change its spots?
I speculate:
ReplyDeleteStrategic Moves:
1. Deliberately sold all power producing installations. So that power becomes a big problem.
2. Power not sufficient. Buy from neighbouring countries, knowing fully well there will be problems in the near future.
3. Near future arrived. Problems from foreign supply of power arrived - mainly due to too high pricing.
4. Problems with foreign power cannot be solved. Good excuse to build a NUCLEAR Plant.
5. Few years down the line, nuclear plant also become weapon grade. Produce Nuclear Bombs.
6. Suicidal tactic - if neighbouring countries attack, Nuclear Bombs will be used to destroy self and neighbouring countries.
7. Nuclear weapons can be used by he who is fond of punching above his weight to punch above his weight effectively.
More problems:
Neighbouring countries' forward defence strategy dictates that before the Nuclear Threat comes about, Singapore will be neutralized - smattered, smithered, smothered and scattered.
Singapore's imbecile leaders think it is ok to buy electricity from Malaysia.
ReplyDeleteIf Lee Kuan Yew is still alive, these imbeciles would be whipped in public for their stupidity.
Offering themselves to be screwed by the Malaysians.
Great that Sin is getting along well with its' neighbours.
ReplyDeleteCheers !
