In banning Huawei and ZTE, Sweden calls China a national security threat
Sweden’s ban on Tuesday of Huawei Technologies and ZTE Corp from its 5G networks – which has already drawn a strong rebuke from Beijing – did not surprise observers. It is the blunt reference to China as a threat to national security that did.
For its part, Beijing seems ready to take retaliatory measures, casting doubt on future business in China for the Sweden-based telecommunications giant Ericsson, Huawei’s nearest rival in 5G technology....
Italy has put up costly bureaucratic hurdles for operators using high-risk vendors, making it uneconomical to choose Huawei or ZTE.
Tim Rühlig, an expert on EU-China relations at the Swedish Institute of International Affairs, said that Swedish authorities banned Huawei in the most explicit way possible.
“Sweden could have done something similar [to Italy] and ban Huawei in silence. Today’s decision shows that Sweden is up to taking a clear stance,” Rühlig said....
Jan Weidenfeld, of the Mercator Institute of China Studies, a Berlin-based think tank, said that “currently, Europe is playing chicken, seeing what other countries are doing on 5G”.
The above is what America and its allies are doing to ban and kill Huawei. China is retaliating by banning Swedish telecom companies from its market. But this is not enough. China should ban major companies from countries that banned Huawei from the China market. And this should not be limited to telecom companies. China must not just be reacting and let the rogue countries set the agenda, take the lead to decide what to hit China. China should initiate what it wants to ban and which company it wants to ban to make it painful for these countries for attacking China. Take out a few countries and a few big companies for a start to let others know that they would not get away if their country is rogue.
This is the only way to deal with gangsters and bullies. Do not let them get away with their bullying and hostility. It must be a tit for tat or else more and more little countries would think it is ok to follow the evil Empire to attack China. Many big companies especially in the US and among its allies need the China market more than China needs them.
China, just whack. Or else the little monkeys would get embolden and more little monkeys would join the bandwagon. Any weakness in China's response would be an invitation for more problems for China's companies to operate in American controlled countries.
PS. China awarded a big contract to Ericsson to build 5G network. With Sweden accusing Huawei as a security risk, China should do likewise to Ericsson, declares that it is a security risk and cancels its contract and bans its operation in China. China cannot afford not to ban Ericsson once Sweden banned Huawei. What are you doing China? It is plain silly not to do so.
“Sweden could have done something similar [to Italy, or Singapore] and ban Huawei in silence."
ReplyDeleteXinjiang is almost fully electric. All public transportation, ie taxis and buses are operating using electricity. Private cars are also mainly electric cars.
ReplyDelete"China should initiate what it wants to ban and which company it wants to ban to make it painful for these countries for attacking China."
ReplyDeleteCoal bosses say this country must get its bilateral relationship with China back on track as evidence mounts that Australian coal is being blocked by Chinese customs while rival coal-exporting nations continue to sell there.
Speculation that Australian miners were facing unique discrimination from Chinese customs was fuelled on Wednesday, when Coronado Global Resources confirmed it was still selling coal into China from its Buchanan mine in the US state of Virginia.
That confirmation comes after Canadian miner Teck said last week its coal shipments to China were unaffected at a time when Australian miners such as BHP are having coal shipments to China deferred to other locations.
Whitehaven Coal chairman Mark Vaile was federal trade minister when the Australia-China Trade and Economic Framework was struck in 2003, with that framework becoming a building block for the free trade agreement struck between the two nations in 2015.
Mr Vaile said Australia should not be afraid to speak up to China on important issues, but had to juggle that voice with the knowledge that China was its biggest trade partner.
''We do need as a country to continue to take steps to get that bilateral relationship back on to a steadier footing,'' he said.
Coronado Global Resources chief financial officer Gerhard Ziems said Australian politicians needed to foster positive dialogue with their Chinese counterparts.
'"We need to be careful how we phrase certain statements when we talk to our biggest trading partner unless as an economy we want to accept a profound negative impact," he said.
"I think we should maintain a positive dialogue with China."
The Aussies are the one that is causing the rift, attacking and smearing China. They deserve to be whacked. Period.
ReplyDeleteNot to worry China Chinese will adopt the wolf warrior tactic diplomacy (ju like they did to Canada) & o more monkey bzinesses.

ReplyDeleteChina Must Retaliate Strongly, Instead Of Looking Like A Lame Duck
How to steal from USA, when USA still has not even one single type of the Covid19 vaccine that has been declared officially workable?
How to steal from USA, when the lying, cheating and robbing USA still has not the 5-G technology today?
What national security Bullshit? Any idiot can just say anything under the sun as an excuse for national security.
Google, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Microsoft are the biggest national security thtests, in terms of communications and detailed mass data collection and analysis, to any country that uses any of them. The confidential information of each and every user and his family and workplace have been collected enmass by these giant tech companies and stored for various uses, both tactical and strategic, short-term as well as long-term.
Moreover, any mobile phone system is, in one way or another, a national communications and data collection security threat to any country that uses it..
China must retaliate with very strong counter measures on any country that ganged up with the Anti-China USA, especially small countries Like Singapore that has so obviously been ganging up with USA against China for the last 15 years. Otherwise, these USA stoogess will take China as a lame duck or easy punching bag.
China must use her economic power to cripple the economy of those Anti-China small fries in order to not look like a lame duck or punching bag, especially for those who boast about punching above their weight all the time.
China will also adopt wolf warrior tactic diplomacy to tackle those that stands in it's way, let's wait n see now..
DeleteChina must teach a few monkeys to frighten the chickens, just like what Unlawful States of Asses have been doing.
ReplyDeleteSigh...just coughed out $36,500 for COE a fortnight back.
ReplyDeleteCanada under the boy PM is becoming a rogue state but did not know that it is one. Arresting a Chinese national that has not committed any crime in Canada and think it is alright to do so. And the silly boy PM went to thank clown Trump for his support to get the two Canadian criminals arrested for espionage and drug offences and believing that Trump could set them free.
ReplyDeleteThese white rogues did not know that they are the rogues that have stolen people's land, committed genocides and war crimes and have the audacity to pass judgements on others.
China is holding back judgement on the two Michaels.
ReplyDeleteOnce the silly Canadians hand Meng Wanzhou to the US, these two Canadians would be served the death sentence for sure.
Indonesia has rejected the US proposal to allow its P-8 Poseidon maritime surveillance planes to land and refuel in the country. "We don't want to be duped into an anti-China campaign," former Indonesian ambassador to the US Dino Patti Djalal told Reuters.
ReplyDeleteUS' P-8 Poseidon maritime surveillance planes have played an essential role in the country's surveillance operations against China, especially its surveillance of China's activities in the South China Sea. The P-8 surveillance planes had landed in Singapore.
Washington has been trying to rope in regional countries to gang up against Beijing, forcing them to take sides. But smart ASEAN members including Indonesia attach great importance to balanced national relations with major powers. Taking sides is not in line with their interests.
Swede ban on HW is openly explicit like Australia and the US , unlike some countries like Italy and even Singapore who are more diplomatic with niceties giving HW some consolation prizes.
ReplyDeleteChina awarded 3 multi-million dollar contracts to Ericsson. Ericsson recently reported a bumper profits of additional $1 billion mainly due to China business despite the pandemic.
China should divert these contracts to Nokia which got nothing during the tender. Finland is a more friendly country to China.
Btw if you read all the western business news, they reported China's reply to Sweden's ban on HW as a "threat" while Sweden, Australia and those western countries that ban HW as due "security concerns" despite lack of evidence. Trade and business dealing is about reciprocity so how is China's reply considered a "threat"?
Everyday you hear these white bastards attacking or accusing this country or that country of this and that. They are so angelic.
ReplyDeleteChina on the other hand keeps quiet and continues to build roads, railways and infrastructure and trade with every country that wants to trade with China.
The evil whites still wanting the world to think they are the good guys, the angels. They think the rest of the world are blind and stupid.
China should ban DBS from operating across China. Just limit it to Beijing.
ReplyDeleteReuters today (Thursday) :
ReplyDeleteIndia’s coronavirus infections rose by 55,839, taking its tally to 7.71 million, health ministry data showed on Thursday.
Cases in India have dipped since a peak in September, but experts warn that infections could surge as the peak festival season approaches.
India has the world’s second highest number of infections after the United States, which has a tally of 8.3 million.
Virus deaths in the south Asian nation rose by 702 in the last 24 hours, taking the toll to 116,616, the ministry added.
If AGC is contemplating on taking legal action to prosecute or to sue lawyer Mr Ravi for his remarks about prosecutors being "over zealous", I think it is very unwise to do it.
ReplyDeleteThere are likely going to have several unfavourable consequences for AGC, especially at this point in time, if it goes ahead.
I have been unable to sleep well for the last two months, always thinking of the future of my grand children. Sometimes waking up in the wee hours, like now, by surrealistic dreams of an utopia somewhere in the wilderness of the high mountain regions of the Amazon jungle. Sometimes in the Himalayan Mountains. Sometimes in the Malaysian jungles.
ReplyDeleteI have not believed in Singapore as a nation, until LKY, Dr Goh Keng Swee, Dr Toh Chin Chye, Lim Kim San, EW Barker, Devan Nair and Rajaratnam and others in Old Guards had managed to convince me.
But after Goh Chok Tong took over as the seat warmer PM, all his policies and schemes really put me off. Especially his empty promises of the Swiss Standard of Livung, Wotld Cup 2000, More Good Years, Retiring Graciously, etc.
Then, after LHL took over I thought things and life would become better. Sad to say, it got worse. The worst of all.
Now, I am so disappointed that I do not believe in Singapore as a nation any more. I believe Singapore is just like a flashing meteorite. In a moment it is so bright that the whole world can see it, but in the next moment it fizzles out. And nothing is left to be seen.
My children also see the same thing coming. We have prepared ourselves to ensure that there is a Plan B plus Plan C, when the time comes. And I think the time has arrived, together with the Coronavirus Covid-19. It really exposed the weak and incompetent leadership that do not deserve the $millions salary at all.
The time has come for me and my children to act.
Can u share your plan b and c to benefit more people,,,? As most are dumb can not think well
