Singapore being a Chinese majority country is not something to be taken for granted. It is a necessity, a survival formula for the Chinese to thrive in South East Asia. Without a Chinese majority in Singapore, the fate of the Chinese, especially bananas, is dire. Singapore is the only peaceful oasis for the overseas Chinese in South East Asia, to be able to live freely and to excel in whatever they want to do, to be the best they can be, without being oppressed or threatened. This is not a luxury, not just a racist and selfish recipe, but a matter of survival. This is something that the Chinese majority cannot be unthinkingly generous with, and willingly surrender it and think life would still be beautiful and everything will be the same.
Throughout the history of Chinese migration after China was invaded by the conquering westerners, overseas Chinese have been persecuted, victimised, discriminated oppressed, suppressed and even massacred by the natives everywhere, and the whites in the USA, Australia and New Zealand. The Chinese diaspora left a poverty stricken China caused by the invasion and exploitation of the whites only to fall victims to the whites in countries the whites stole from the natives.
In the USA, after helping to build the east west railway, the Chinese were persecuted, oppressed and racially discriminated by the whites. There was the 1875 Page Act that forbid Chinese women migrating to the USA despite the thousands of male Chinese railway workers there. Then there was the Chinese Exclusion Act 1882 to prohibit Chinese migration to the USA, followed by racial persecution, beating, torturing, murdering and driving out the Chinese from America. And there was the hate Chinese witch hunt of McCarthyism.
The whites in Australia and New Zealand were equally harsh on the Chinese with their discriminating and oppressive laws against the Chinese goldmine workers and erecting the bogey man of the Yellow Peril to oppress and persecute the Chinese.
In the Philippines Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia, Chinese were massacred from as early as the 1600s to 1998 in Indonesia. Thousands of Chinese were also forced out of India after the humiliating Sino Indian Border War. A weak China was not there to help and protect the Chinese diaspora. Today, a strong China has change the status quo to some extent, only for as long as China remains strong and willing to step in to protect the Chinese from being massacred again.
The history of the Chinese diaspora in South East Asia has been a painful history of racial discrimination, persecution and killings by the natives. Even in Chinese majority Singapore the Chinese were not spared, only to a lesser degree. Only with the consolidation of power by the Chinese majority that the Chinese in Singapore could live life with some security and dignity and without fear. This state of affair in Singapore cannot be taken for granted as losing this majority, the future and fate of the Chinese in Singapore could be just like the Chinese in other parts of South East Asia.
This selfish interest of the Chinese to maintain its majority status cannot be dismissed callously as it is a matter of life and death to the Chinese community. Only in Chinese majority Singapore can the Chinese sleep in peace that they would not be racially discriminated, persecuted and killed because they are Chinese. The Chinese in Singapore must not be so silly to lose this majority status. Losing this would mean losing an oasis of peace for the Chinese diaspora in South East Asia. The Chinese majority can be very kind and magnanimous to the minorities, but they cannot expect this to be reciprocated if they lose their majority status in Singapore. For losing Singapore, the Chinese have really no where else to go outside Greater China where they can live life to the fullest, to be able to excel in whatever they do without any inhibition, restriction or oppression. Only when you have a confident Chinese majority can you talk about meritocracy, where the best could be selected to be the best in their fields. Without a Chinese majority you think others would be talking about meritocracy and allow meritocracy to be practised in Singapore? Look around the region and the world and ask which country is practising meritocracy? Even in Singapore, the Singaporean PMETs are losing out, sacked, not because of meritocracy but clans men and villagers of the same kind. The daft Chinese Singaporeans talking about meritocracy would not stand a chance in the real world.
Just open your eyes and look at the fate of Chinese in the neighbouring countries and ask yourself is that what you want. Do not take your security and freedom to live as a human bean in a Chinese majority Singapore for granted. Losing this majority status in Singapore is to lose everything for the Chinese community here. Do not wait for the day when you have to beg for mercy from another majority to wake up your sense of stupidity. A Chinese majority Singapore is crucial to the well being of the Chinese community here and in the region. Once lost, you will never get it back and will forever be at the mercy of other races. Do not gamble with this state of affair and think it is ok to lose the majority status and all would be well, and practise meritocracy blindly. There is no option if the Chinese diaspora is to live well, with dignity and prosperity in South East Asia. A Chinese majority in Singapore is not negotiable and cannot be compromised. It is the last piece of rock to stand on before slipping into a stormy sea of no returns. This is a cruel and difficult world, not a bed of roses that you can live in pleasant dreams and fictions of fairy tales, thinking that others would also be kind to you.
PS. Some fools in Singapore think that meritocracy will continue even if Singapore loses its Chinese majority and life will still be as per normal. This is flirting with self destruction and disaster.
That's is why Ah Heng said b4 the erection that Sinkieland r not ready for a Indian PeeAm mah, otherwise many India Indians would bring all their kakilang from whole village to whole city to come to invade and flood over Sinkieland & the Chinese Sinkies would juz be marginalized or become minority lio mah.

Almost everyday, MOH is reporting new imported COVID19 cases from India, many of which are Dependant’s Pass holders from India. Am curious also why they still don't ban travelers from India since there're almost daily new imported cases from that country.

I can agree that the minorities would disagree with my position that the Chinese remain as the majority. They would look at it from their point of interest.
ReplyDeleteLooking at this objectively, Singapore is what it is because of the Chinese majority and the prosperity is being shared with the minorities with a bigger pie.
Singapore could still be a third world underdeveloped country if the Chinese were not the majority and the pie would be smaller and less to share with the minorities. Take Singapore as an experiment and compare the progress of Singapore with a Chinese majority and the progress of regional countries when the Chinese is not a majority and see how it benefits the minorities in general.
The difference between Singapore and the regional countries is that the majorities in these countries used their political power to oppress, bully and discriminate against the Chinese, even rob them of their rights to compete equally, and in worse cases, killings of the Chinese.
ReplyDeleteIn Singapore, the Chinese majority bent backwards to accommodate and share the progress with the minorities and have strict laws against racial discrimination. No bullying or oppressing the minorities. In fact the minorities enjoy a greater share of the pie proportionally to their size.
The Chinese majority would be hammered by the govt if they are tempted to take advantage of the minorities.
Right you are Anon 10.49
DeleteSinkieland Chinese Leaders will whacked you hard if you as the Majority were to insult or discrimate against the minority races.
But not the other way round.
Chinese upbringing the elder siblings must take or bear more punishments than their juniors.
In other countries especially the Whites and the Mats, their majority together with their leaders in cahoots bullied the minorites as punching bags.
In Indonesia they simply goes amok and killing the Chinese.
In Matland, they were given too much face and pampered that they bully the Chinese even with their blessings of their leaders.
To torture especially Sinkies Chinese who went there to even help their economy.
They were just too jealous of Sinkies Chinese success.
Their Malay political leaders are racists thru only their own kind members.
Minorities are sidelined and bullied and thrown scraps.
That's why the minority Sinkies must be grateful that our Chinese Sinkies and leaders treated them so well and even better than our own kind
Yet, many still complained discrimations. My Foot.
Count your blessings you are in Singapore.
Think that the Ah Long administration feared that one day the Chinese majority will be minority that's why the open leg policy of allowing more Foreigners to come over ( maybe with some kind of a quota or ratio,.probably like CMIO is 7:1:1:1) that will keep Chinses majority in Sinkieland going, but with SickA & FxA agreements with many regions countries Sinkies Chinese majority might be over taken or over run by many Trojan horses running wild on this red tiny dot, its already happening here look at Changi, Jurong, Orchard, Tekka, Beach road & many other places One will think that they r on Foreign land in a SingaForeign land of SingaFor.
ReplyDeleteThe Chinese in Spore must not be shy to claim credit for turning it into the most prosperous country in SE Asia. Try to imagine what it would be like if the Chinese were not the majority and not given the chance to build Singapore into what it is today.
ReplyDeleteSingapore is the best place to live and be because the Chinese majority made it happened by bringing the minorities together as one people, one nation, to be the best each can be.
But this formula of success may be slipping away with idiots sleeping in their jobs.
U r rite..nowadays is jobs for SingaForeigns & NS and Grabs / Delivery Riders, Screwty, Cleaners,or any low end jobs r for Singaporeans, Singaporeans jobs r being sucked away or stolen away by these wild Trojan horses roaming around lah.

Even though they are not the majority here they already behave as though they own Singapore. They have no respect for the citizens, verbally and sometimes physically abusing the security guards, taxi drivers, service staff. They strut 2 or 3 abreast on the sidewalks and expect you to make way for them. Note the arrogance and contempt in their eyes. Once one CECA Indian stalked off in disgust to the next carriage of the MRT when he realised that my husband, a Singaporean Indian, was not his compatriot when he took the seat next to me, a Singaporean Chinese. This is just a foretaste of what it will be like if the Chinese here were to become a minority. Already there are already calls for the Chinese majority to be diluted.

Singapore belongs to Malays. Chinese and Indian are squatters here. all brought in here from thousands of km away by British. no different from recent migrants that you are complaining about. singapura had nice population size of 20,000, all malays and Muslims. then you all came and made population into 200,000 then 2 million and now 5 million. all of you all must get out
ReplyDeleteYour Malays are also immigrants lah.
DeleteManly from Indonesia.
Boyanese! Head Hunters lah.
Singapore also NOT belong to you.
Give you special privelleges only give you all chance and face as cannnot compete with other races.
It's also just beacuse Malay Peninsula is on top and Indon surround that myth that Singapore is Malay.
Friend u need to be sodomized jialat jialat
DeleteYou Malays still in myths that Singapore belonged to your tribe.
DeleteJust a Fishing Village. At that time why Riau Islands and even the neighbouring Islands that also as what's you said belonged to the Johore Sultanate were conquered by the Indons and they also kept quiet.
Also Singapura don't belonged to you. You think you are Johore Loyalty. ? ?
I purposely don't want to put as Singapura as I knew your tribes will definitely claimed that just because you are Mats Origins you will want to claim that Singapore belonged to you.
Why the Brits conquered Singapura and your tribes beholden and slaves to them do nit have the guts ans balls to tell them to go back to Brits Land.?
Up to today, your tribes still in myths that Singapore belonged to you and soley your tribes.
Without the Chinese and others who built up this place, your tribes would be still living in jungles and caves.
Your same mentality as the Mats in Matland ordering everyone NOT your GFN that is good for nothing tribes to go back to China and gave back the country to you when it became a metropolis.
Also are you so Cock sure that Parameswara is a Malay?
Boyanese and Javanese are NOT Malays. They are Indons happened to just embrace the same faith.
Bali they even worshipped Hinduism. You must be a Mat made good in Singapore and felt entitlement just like them thinking that all these belonged to you and wanted to chase out all the Chinese.
Without the Chinese and the others you be still scavenging for food in.the rubbish
Take so well care by Others and still in Dreamland or Nightmare that this place rightfully still belonged to your tribe and ordering those WHO made lives so good for you to fark off to China and elsewhere.
If I could, yes definitely I will live in China where now no one even dared to lift a finger against them. You think they will simply accept me as one.
Wake up from your dream or Nightmare and forget that just beacuse you are a tribe similar to the Mats and Indons in.this rock you are the owners of this place.
Even Indon and Mats do NOT recognise you as their own.
Indons are different from you Mats and.they don't called themselves Malay but just as Muslims in same faith.
If you NOT happy, go back to Matland and joined your entitled useless Mats to bully the Malaysian Chinese who also built up the country for your useless tribes.
virgo 49, why Chinese in China will not accept you? they look down on you?

Also, they also don't want bananas to their countries to cause shits with their ALREADY different lifestyles.
Overseas Chinese especially Sinkies are greatly influenced by the decedent Western lifestyles. Just like the Hong Kies who not lay eggs for them but shits.
You think China so hard up to accept Overseas Chinese to support their Nation. Fifty years back maybe.
Now they are the Ones calling the shots.
If Singapore belonged to the Malays, where the Hell there is one called Parameswara that landed here and called it Lion.City?
ReplyDeleteStudy the history lah. Also Malays are the MOST productive in births.
Where got we all can beat you to five millions?
If really belongs to the Malays, now should be already ten millions.
With so much special privelleges and supports should be able to beat all others.
ReplyDeleteWho Are The Malays, Really?
The original tribes of Malaysia are the:
1. Negritos (the earliest)
2. Senoi
3. Sakai
4. An extinct tribe that looks like pygmies (dwarfs).
These four tribes spreaded across the entire South-East Asian Archipelago, which includes Indonesia, East and West Malaysia, the Philippines, the Riau Islands, and Singapore.
The present-day Malays are not the original tribes of Malaysia. They are derived from the Proto-Malays who lived in the Yunan Plateau (China) around 4,000 years ago.
Owing to severe climate change, they moved eastwards and southwards, following the three main rivers of China.
Living along the banks of rivers for very long periods of time, they acquired the skills of fishing, pottery and making boats. With their boats (like the present-day Rohingyas) they travelled across the seas and settled down in many different islandic regions - as far east as Okinawa (which was part of Taiwan), Formosa (Taiwan), and as far south as Australia, New Guinea, Java, Celebes (Sulawesi), Borneo (Kalimantan, Brunei, Sabah, Sarawak), the Philippines, Sumatra and Malaya.
Indo-china (Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam), Burma (Myanmar), Thailand and East Pakistan (Bangladesh) were not spared.
These Proto-Malays inter-married wherever they go, in order to survive, when they came in small groups. These are the present-day self-subdued and peaceful Malays.
When they were in large groups, the overwhelmed the original inhabitants and massacred them, or pushed them into the jungles. Exactly ike what the murderous Whitemen did in Africa, Latin America, Central and North America, Australia and New Zealand. These are the present-day kris-flashing Malays.
The point of this very brief recount in historical and archeological facts is to ascertain the fact that the Malays are not Orang Asli (Sons of the Soil). This topic has been dealt with in the early 1970s.
It was UMNO that redefine Orang Asli to include the Malays for political purposes. The real Orang Asli (Sons of the Soil) in Malaysia are the Negritos, the Senoi, the Sakai and the Dayak.
The Malays' roots can be traced back to China. Indeed, they should claim themselves as Chinese, if they are wise, for long-term success. They are actually the dark-skin Chinese.
I hope that can enlighten some of you in one way or another.
SSO - August 2020
P/S: Same as the Indians in India, the Chinese in China also have the fair-skin Chinese and the dark-skin Chinese.

ReplyDeleteThe Andaman and Nicobar Islands belong to Burma but India stole them from its much weaker neighbor.
ReplyDeleteTibet belong to Tibetans but China stole it from its weaker people
DeleteHistory Conveniently Forgotten And Discarded For Political Advantage
ReplyDeleteChina stole Tibet? Wrong!
It was Tibet that stole China.
The Tibet King ar that time ganged up with the Mongolian Emperor (Genghis Khan) to invade and conquer China when China was weak.
China was swallowed by the Mongolians with the advice and assistance of the Tibetans. China was unable to ward off the relentless series of invasions carried out by the Mongolian-Tibetan Forces, even with the Great Wall of China built to defend the country.
The Great Wall was finally breached at a few points and the enemy forces entered to massacre millions of Chinese people to force the rest to surrender and submit to the Mongolian-Tibetan Rulers.
The Mongolians and Tibetans ruled China from then on, for a period of time about 250 years. During this period, the Mongolians and Tibetans voluntarily assimilated themselves into the Chinese Civilisation. They became part of China willingly, just because they were the rulers of China and the Chinese people
The Han people of China rose up and toppled the Mongolians to take back their country. Mongolia (both Inner and Outer Mongolia) and Tibet became part of China by reversed conquest (similar to today's reversed merger).
Today, Tibetans are no more ruling China, so they want out.
Instigated by the British in the early days and the US in later times, the Tibetans want independence from China.
China offered them the same conditions as Inner Mongolia - Autonomous Region. At first, the Dalai Lama accepted but later, after further investigations and evil advice by the US, he rejected the offer. He was total independence so that Tibet can become one of the thousands military bases of USA to encircle China.
Nevertheless, the Dalai Lama shamelessly and proudly still keeps the title Dalai Lama, which was conferred to him by a Ruler of China. The title means The Great National Adviser (or Teacher). This is proof that the Dalai Lama is still an important part of the Chinese Rule.
One can't keep the cake and still eat it. If you bite the hands that fed you, how can you still keep the title? If you kept the title then you are admitting that you are a subject of that country. You can't have it both ways.
Same as Taiwan. Taiwan cannot call itself the Republic of China and still claims that it is not part of China. That is double talk. Same as speaking in fork tongue.
ReplyDeleteIf you were to look at the features and characteristics of Chinese, Myanmese, Viets, Laotian, Thais to the Malays and Indonesians, you can see the gradual transition with the northern SE Asian tribes looking more like Chinese, the southern SE Asian tribes more like the northern SE Asian tribes.
ReplyDeleteBut when you look at the polynesians and Papua New Guineans, there is an abrupt change in the features and even in the skin colour and tones. There seems to be a clear break with very little similarity. They are more negritos while the SE Asians, including the Malays and Indonesians are more mongoloid in looks and features.
China stole Tibet? Wrong!
ReplyDeleteIt was Tibet that stole China.
SSO said the above. The statement is also applicable to the claims in the South China Sea. Some Asean states are claiming the islands that belonged to China for centuries are theirs and accusing China of claiming their islands. When China was ruling these islands, these Asean states were not even states or nations. They did not even know the existence of these islands while the Chinese were sailing and marking them and using them.
The only basis for their claims is the new UNCLOS Treaty that they wanted it to be retrospective to claim the islands belong to them. Using this same law, the continent of USA and Canada cannot belong to the Europeans. Australia and New Zealand cannot belong to the white men. Ask the white men to go home to Europe?
The Three Theories On Proto-Malays
ReplyDeleteThe term Proto-Malays - sometimes mistakenly identified
as "Austronesian speakers" - do not come from Australia
but the other way round. They were from Mainland Asia, who moved to the Malay peninsula, the Malay archipelago and elsewhere,
between 2500 and 1500 BCE in a very long series of migration by "foot" and boats.
The Proto-Malays were the first of two migrations of early Malay speakers, before that of the Deutero-Malays.
The Proto-Malays are the ancestors of the Malays in the modern Malaysia and Indonesia.
The Proto-Malays are believed to be knowledgeable in oceanography, and possessing advanced fishing as well as basic agricultural skills.
Over the years, they settled in various locations and adopted the various customs and religions of the places they adoptes, as a result of acculturation and inter-marriage, with most of the people they come in contact with, especially with the Orang Asli tribes, such as the Negrito and Senoi peoples.
"The Encyclopedia of Malaysia: Early History" pointed out three theories of the origin of the Proto-Malays:
1. The Yunnan Theory, Mekong river migration (first published in 1889). This theory of Proto-Malay originating from Yunnan is supported by R.H Geldern, J.H.C Kern, J.R Foster, J.R Logen, Slametmuljana and Asmah Haji Omar.
Other evidence that supports this theory includes: stone tools found at the Malay Archipelago which are analogous to Central Asian tools; similarity of Malay customs and Assam customs; and the fact that the Malay and Cambodian languages are kindred languages because the ancestral home of Cambodians originated at the source of Mekong River.
2. The Sea-farers Theory (first published in 1965). This theory suggests that the Ptoto-Malays migrated by sea-going vessels only, not by foot. Though it sounds logical, there is insufficient facts and research to support this theory.
3. The Taiwan Theory (first published in 1997). This theory is based on the similarity of the languages they speak today. All these languages have been conveniently grouped together and called Austronesian languages. One identifies a tribe not just by the linguistic basis. It has to include more distinctive factors than just a single factor.
Which of the three theories is more credible? It's up to you to judge. However, you may also come out with your own theory as it fits you.
There is no need to get all worked up if you can't accept the truth. For the truth may sometimes appear stranger than fiction.
Have a nice day. Cheers!

ReplyDeleteWhy do we often refer to Earth as Mother Earth?
ReplyDeleteBecause we belong to the planet called Earth. Not the other way around.
Similarly, the people belong to country, not the country belong to people.

about "ask not what the country can do for you, ask what you can do for the country";
Or, you often hear some people say, "Hey, you don't belong here!"

After you are dead, you are either buried into the land or you are burnt to ashes and the ashes sprinkled into the sea, river or buried. The land owns you!
Nobody can say this country belongs to me because my ancestors lived there 4,500 years ago. On the other hand your country of origin, like your parents, can claim that you originated from there/them.
