The Devil’s in the Details
Both the law and power
are at your discretion.
Using both is no crime
Except for your obsession.
I write poems all the time –
an open confession.
Depending upon the time of day,
My inspirations ebb and flow.
The challenge of law’s a delight
To think about justice for the lay.
From an innocent child starting to grow
To a retiree who can laze, ponder and write.
At dawn, when it's still dark and unclear,
You’ll find me jogging with torch light lit.
At dusk, when the day's near its end,
You'll find me writing without hope nor fear.
At night, sitting in mediation is my habit,
Except during holiday and week-end.
The devil you cannot blame,
My muse you cannot thank,
When neither glory nor fame
Appears in my memory bank.
Yet my efforts are less lame
If our collective mind is not blank.

ReplyDeleteCannot help feeling that many are in remorse in their old age aka twilights years.
ReplyDeleteMany of
these folks are abbetters of the PAP in their younger days and are now quite guilt stricken with the Situation now.
As intellectuals, how is it that they failed to read or be prescient of the Resultant Development, says over two decades ago ?
Think many were PAP psycophant and bootlicker themselves prior to regaining their sense and conscientiousness. Many are sincerely doing repairs. Hope a stitch in time saves nine, though it appears too late.
Corrections to my Above-comment.

ReplyDeleteThe biggest fool of all is non other than the great lky who cannot even see how his own son would dishonour him and single-handedly destroyed the harmony in his own family.
Still, the blood of this country is on our hand, for being too trustful for too long. We need to right the wrongs.

ReplyDeleteEveryone is responsible for the shit such goes on in their mind.... both the good and bad shit. It is up to the individual to make sense of the shit and to act accordingly, knowing that they can be wrong, or even if they're "right" they can be clobbered by pure arsehole BAD LUCK.
Conversely, they can be doing everything wrong and be "rewarded" by a bolt of GOOD LUCK, which will fool them into confusing "luck" with "skill". 😜👍
If you have SHIT in your head, just remember that YOU are the one who put it there! 🤓
Fuck off already ...

ReplyDeleteTay Kheng Soon say the price of HDB flats is:
1/3 building cost
2/3 land cost
But Singaporeans are only given a 99 year lease when they "buy" a HDB flat.
Since the 99 year lease does not include ownership of the HDB flat or ownership of the underlying land.
So why are Singaporeans paying property tax on HDB flat/land that we do not own?
When you rent out your private condo.
- does your tenant pay your condo property tax for you?
KUALA LUMPUR: A former Malaysian policeman who was convicted of killing Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu claimed that he acted on the orders of then deputy prime minister Najib Razak, a shocking allegation dismissed by the latter as a conspiracy to defame him.
ReplyDeleteAzilah Hadri revealed in a statutory declaration dated Oct 17 that Najib had ordered him to “arrest and destroy” Altantuya – whom Najib described as a foreign spy – with an explicit “shoot to kill” message in 2006, Malaysiakini reported on Monday (Dec 16).
“I asked the DPM (deputy prime minister) what he meant by arrest and destroy the foreign spy, he responded: ‘Shoot to kill’, and indicating it with a ‘slit the throat’ gesture.
“When asked the purpose of destroying the foreign spy with explosives, the DPM replied:
‘Dispose of the foreign spy’s body with an explosive device to remove the traces and the explosives can be obtained from the UTK store (armoury),” read the statutory statement sighted by the news portal.
UTK refers to the elite Special Action Force of the police.
Azilah filed the statutory statement in seeking the Federal Court to review its decision in the conviction and the death sentence imposed on him and Sirul Azhar Umar, a fellow UTK personnel, in 2015.
He is also seeking a retrial. The court has fixed Tuesday for case management.
Altantuya's son says he had to change his name after mother's death, Malaysian court hears
Altantuya was shot dead and her body blown up by military-grade C4 explosives in Shah Alam in 2006. She was said to be the lover of Abdul Razak Baginda, a political analyst who advised former Malaysia prime minister Najib Razak from 2000 to 2008.
Azilah and Sirul were convicted and sentenced to death by the Shah Alam High Court in 2009 for killing Altantuya between 10pm on Oct 19, 2006 and 1am on Oct 20, 2006.
The Court of Appeal overturned the High Court’s decision in August 2013, but the Federal Court later restored the conviction in 2015.
Sirul had fled to Australia while on bail in 2014 and is still held in an Australian prison till now, pending retrial.
In his statutory declaration, Azilah detailed how he met Najib in Pekan, Pahang, and received the verbal instruction to carry out the covert operation.
Altantuya was described by Najib as a “threat to national security”, Malaysiakini reported.
'I never met her': Najib denies links with slain Mongolian model Altantuya. But it has been rumored that his wife was seen shopping in Singapore with Altantuya?
There are many evergreen wisdom of the years like wealth or fortune does not last more than 3 generations or father built, son destroyed, or all empires will crumble and fall, but no one would take heed.
ReplyDeleteIt would not happen in my time.
The thing is that whatever the twits are doing, they would always think that they are doing the right thing and they are the genius of the day. Look at how they are patting each others back for doing a great job. So clever, the empire will last forever.
If only they know that they were the twits and what they are doing are wrong, they would not have done them.
Only historians will write about their stupidity when everything becomes history.

ReplyDeleteShe was also rumored to be the lover of Najib, who had impregnated her. And that she was carrying Najib's child. That's why Najib gave the instruction to obliterate her body with the very powerful military TNT high explosives after killing her. And that she had pleaded with her killers not to kill her because she was carrying a baby in her womb. When the body was disintegrated in this manner, no traces of her pregnancy could be established unless a DNA test was taken in that line of investigation, which means very extensive and tedious work of picking up every single bit of the disintegrated body within the first few days, before decomposition sets in and rain water interfere with the decomposition process.

ReplyDeleteI was just wondering...will the guys who blew up the body of that model receive 72 virgins each when they die and go to "paradise"?

ReplyDeleteThinking 'bout the wrangled me
That worn out all my shoes,
I’m joyed in exasperation,
But my mind’s in Twitter blues.
It’s the way I like to speak;
Though I'd toned it down.
Still I'm thrill'd with florious geek,
And nothing can ding me brown.
We poets are a crazy pot,
Boiling with words and worse.
Wrangling with the fools of corm,
Inhibitions so reverse.
A long time to take in the snub
Maybe the dude is made of wood.
Or how about a tiger at the pub?
Mate, I can’t wet a guy, but I should.
