The Sino American War has been racheted a notch higher with the outrageous arrest of a Chinese citizen, Meng Wanzhou in Canada. The Americans are bent on fighting this war with China at any cost. The Chinese leaders are still sleeping, thinking that they could talk reasons with the rogues in the White House and appearing meek and accommodating would win the day. They might as well go down on their knees and beg Emperor Trump for mercy.
Trump is no different from the neocons. It is about the American Empire and ruling the world. China would not be allowed to challenge the American Empire and must be brought down on its knees. Hear that, China. Wake up and open your eyes to see what you are dealing with and their intent. There is not going to be any niceties. The arrest of Meng Wanzhou in the midst of a trade negotiation in Buenos Aires is the American's way of telling the Chinese that they could do anything to China and China would meekly accept its fate.
The whole world is watching at how China reacts to the American attacks, especially the American allies like Japan and Europe. China's meek and inaction have led them to a conclusion that China has lost the war and would be swallowed up by the Americans. Japan has read the situation and jumped in to not only ban Huawei from entering the Japanese market but also ZTE. To Japan, China has lost. Period. This is the prize China is paying for being weak and meek when attacked by the Americans. More American allies would join the pack to ban Huawei now. China brought this upon itself and deserves to be attacked, just like the invasion of China in 1937 by Japan. When you are weak, you deserves to be attacked. China has not learnt its lesson and it is being given a second lesson on not to be weak.
However, the most serious consequence for China is that top Chinese businessmen would fear to travel out of China as they are easy target for kidnapping by the rogue American regime and its mafia allies. How would this affect China as the next world leader and Chinese in the eyes of the world community?
Would Singapore join the American allies and ban Huawei's 5G from entering the Singapore market? This is crisis time and also an opportunity for Singapore to seize the moment, to be with China or against China. Huawei's 5G is the future technology and would transform Singapore into a truly smart city. Singapore could go along with Huawei and move ahead while the Americans and the West struggle to find their way to develop their 5G technology, maybe another decade. This is time on Singapore's side to be at the forefront of technology and be a model city for the West and the rest of the world and to win China's confidence to work with Singapore in the various projects Singapore is proposing in China. This could be the litmus test for Singapore and its well being in the future as the trading and transportation hub of SE Asia now that China is abandoning Malacca, Malaysia that was to replace Tuas, Singapore.
What would Singapore choose?
Xi must follow Putin.
ReplyDeleteWhen meeting the Dotard stared hard at him like Putin does.
Dotard always avoid eye contact as chow Ang mohs and black ants habits of staring into your eyes.
Also Dotard always extend his hands to shake Putin first.
Others, like Matcon and that Fat German also no hiok.
Putin in his own Terriority always brought his two big husky dogs to frighten his guests.
Another small small intrusions he asked his navy to fire the missles
So far, U Ass A kept quiet.
So Xi must do the right thing.

China Xi mistake was to show hand.
If Xi has quietly but steadily march forward n bring great value added to the rest of Asia, South America, Africa, Middle East n Eastern Europe n grow the economy n domestic technology way above USA, then USA can bitch n threathen but will be uneffective then.
He was too hasty.

ReplyDelete@ war fans, keep your powder dry,
Please lah, there won’t be any war.
China has always “played it cool” when taunted or bullied by the USA. US can violate China airspace, China makes some noise. US places sanctions, China responds in kind, then backs down at G20 as Trump plays China’s backside during seemingly “cordial” dinner with Xi.
Redbean already observed that China doesn’t stand up for itself enough. And it’s not that they lack the resolve (balls). They won’t fight unless they can win; for one; and secondly they have much larger fish to fry---OBOR. Armed conflict, especially with a war-monger like the US which is “ex-spurt” in killing people and destabilising entire continents will impact China’s economy---their economy being the #1 valuable asset which is driving their growing global dominance and relevance.
P.S. I don't agree that China is "weak and meek" although it certainly looks that way. They're playing the long game.
ReplyDeleteSo what if they “lose” the Huawei fight. Sometimes shit happens, and you just take the loss, because you have an asset of far greater value to focus on.
Huawei is not one successful, free cash-flowing company in China. There are THOUSANDS.
The world, and many Americans themselves are getting fed up with how the USA is bullying the world, with a petty-minded Head of State who wants to fight everyone like a spoilt brat. They weaponized their currency and treasuries, and now they are arresting people who dare to do business with Iran or any of the US’s “enemies”. The world is pissed off lah, America is losing its leadership by being The Cunt of The Planet.
Go PRC! Dun worry.
Someone described Singapore as a "tiny bonsai model" for China to learn from.
ReplyDeleteSingapore likes to punch above its weight.
If China punches above its weight, already so heavy, then its punch will be very very strong and blow the US away!

ReplyDeleteHere’s the link I posted previously.
Here is a more recent rejoinder.
There’s little doubt China learns from us, and adapts Singapore ideas to suit their culture and goals.
The way Singapore manages its money, especially in the sovereign wealth funds and foreign reserves is probably the best in the world, even though the locals don’t like it. You can only do this shit in an authoritarian society, and like Singapore, China is an authoritarian society.

Stanford Physics Professor Zhang Shoucheng, a China born American, died at the age of 55 after having tea with American intelligence agency. A top physicist that was a potential candidate Nobel Prize winner, supposedly committed suicide.
ReplyDeleteHe died on 1 Dec, the same day Meng Wanzhou was arrested. Coincidence?
Why would a prominent and successful physicist commit suicide at the prime of his career?
Was he murdered by the rogue regime?
Zhang was an expert in quantum computing, AI, blockchain etc etc.
Ordinary Sinkies expect to see leader come to the forefront, appear to take charge, when there's a crisis.
ReplyDeleteThere're previous instances of CIA assassinating Iranian nuclear scientists.
ReplyDeleteEven last year, we had case of 2 Israeli operatives came to Malaysia to kill Hamas scientist (they rode away from murder scene on expensive powerful BMW bikes).
So there's a very very high chance that Zhang Shoucheng was indeed killed by American Intelligence.

Many top Chinese scientists have been killed in the USA when they revealed their intentions to return to China.
ReplyDeleteMeng's detention happened as China and the US agreed on a 90-day trade truce to relieve their tariff spat and repair their damaged ties. Washington Post lamented that the timing could hardly be worse and is a bad reflection of the Trump's chaotic administration.
ReplyDeleteThe arrest is a hideous political mistake committed by Uncle Sam and its Canadian poodle. China wiĺl hit Canada first before taking on Uncle Sam. Trade between China and Canada reached C$46.6 billion in the first half of 2018 and China will do less business with Canada. Personnel exchanges may also drop as fewer businessmen and tourists will go to Canada now that their personal safety can no longer be assured. A Huawei spokesperson commented that it has every confidence that the Canadian and Uncle Sam legal systems will reach the right conclusion. Sabrina Meng did not break any Canadian law but was detained by Canadian authorities at the behest of Uncle Sam. Canada will be made to pay the bill for carrying out Uncle Sam's order.
Meanwhile Singapore is busy solving Its problem with Malaysia.
China cannot allow such incidents to happen again and again. It would lose credibility in the eyes of its own people and nations of the world.
ReplyDeleteLook at the USA and Russia or India for that matter, who dares to do such things to them. In my view the Chinese policy of not retaliating is stupidity. You cannot reason with rogues and gangsters.
By not hitting back, China is inviting more sneak attacks. A big power must carry a big stick and be willing to whack when attacked to keep irritants away.
If you Canada you will also obey USA lah. Canada earns 100X more revenue from USA than China. And USA shares a 2,000 mile border with Canada --- you don't want to piss off a neighbor that is your largest customer (1 American spends equivalent to 100 cheenas).
ReplyDeleteAs for S'pore, you can be sure that govt has stopped implementing new Huawei equipment. They are currently doing intensive tests & intrusion attacks on existing Huawei equipment to see whether can continue to use or not.
China's warning to Canada of serious consequences is also a direct hint to Uncle Sam to watch out. China's wise leaders are weighing their options. Crisis projection is sure to be carried out by the 3 countries as each plots its next move. Uncle Sam is worried that China may kidnap one or more of its prominent businessmen and do a hostage exchange. Chinese hawks want to target Uncle Sam's warships. World markets have spoken. It is a vote of no confidence. China can afford to wait. Wall Street will influence The White House to be or not to be. But a hot war is definitely out of the question.
ReplyDeleteUSA attack China via tariffs and sanctions.
ReplyDeleteChina attacking back at USA via cyber space, abandoning 2015 Obama-Xi cyberspace anti-hack pact.
The trade war and the kidnapping of Sabrina Meng will take their tolls on the world. It is an internecine war which no country can afford. Uncle Sam's pocket is too shallow compared to China's. Uncle Sam is perceived to be clutching at the last straw to hold on to its pole position as the world's hegemon. China wiĺl rely on wisdom and not brute force to win.
ReplyDeleteThe epitome of martial excellence isn't winning every battle, but winning without fighting.— Sun Tzu, The Art of War
I have to agree with Matilah 8.59 that China has bigger fish to fry.
ReplyDeleteChina's stand in the South China Sea is already putting its neighbours on tenterhooks. China obviously does not intend to isolate itself even more by creating bad blood with those even further away, since it is looking for more trade and opening up.
Moreover, being overly assertive is not good for the OBOR initiative, as it puts those already on the bandwagon to be suspicious of China's motive of colonisation of such countries, which has already been propagandised loud and clear by the West.
China cannot act like a big bully and has to calibrate its response carefully. Acting rashly may jeopardise all the investments poured into projects and relations that had been built up with great difficulty over the last decade.
I think if a push comes to a shove, China will act. Never underestimate a sleeping dragon. It is no longer a paper tiger.
ReplyDeleteInternet Protocol
IPv9
https://youtu.be/RACbXf27iQ0
Great news and why Washington is harboring so much envy and hatred against China:
After watching the video "National Sovereign Network IPV9 officially unveiled", I realized why cyber security is national security and what enabled the US Government to amass so much wealth from every other country in the world. Day after day and each time we surf the internet, read our emails, WeChat, QQ, WhatsApp, etc., and use WiFi for whatever reasons including video streaming on smartphones and smart TVs, we have to use the United States Internet protocol IPV4. This is the parent server and the main root server for WWW or the worldwide Internet.
China had signed an agreement with the United States to rent the worldwide Internet for 20 years from the year 2000. Every year, China and the rest of the world have been, and currently still pay rents to the United States monopoly. The annual rents are increasing with the ever rising increase in usage, including 500 billion in 2007 and 1.8 trillion in 2017.
By the end of 2020, it is estimated to be even more which is only the rent from China alone! Every other country in the world are also paying rents for Internet usage to the US. How much is that transfer of wealth! How can a country not be rich when it possesses such a hummus monopoly? If the ordinary American people ain't receiving a share of this fabulous windfall, then their country's elites like Trump, Clinton, Bush, Wall Street banksters like Goldman Sachs, etc., can perhaps be made to divulge their secret.
Thankfully for China (also quite likely for Third World countries) by 2014, China independently developed the IPV9 parent server and the main root server with independent intellectual property rights. Having achieved this quantum leap, China tried to negotiate with the United States to introduce to the world its new IPV9 protocol.
Not surprisingly, it was rejected. Then in 2015, a team of Chinese delegation of technological experts unveiled and gave a test introduction of IPV9 to members of the UN General Assembly. The team of experts were able to prove that both the security and quality of IPV9 far exceeded that of the United States's IPV4 and IPV6. T
The two nations were then given the opportunity to present their case at the end of which the UN Assembly voted overwhelmingly in favor of China's IPV9. After further discussions, the UN General Assembly handed over management of the worldwide internet to China for 100 years. That is to say, when the current lease with the US expires in 2020, China will assume leadership and management of the worldwide internet with its superlative IPV9 parent server and the main root server.
All the receiving and transmitting stations in China have now been completed. To date, 25 countries have signed lease agreements with China with the rest of the world to follow. In 2019, IPV9 will be put into trial operation. When the lease with the US expires in 2020, the old and outdated American IPV4 will be closed and China's new generation Internet, namely the Internet of Things IPV9â, will be up and running.
If Internet IPV4 and IPV6 made the United States brilliant, then the Internet of Things IPV9 will bring immense glory and blessings to China and the rest of the world for the next hundred years!

ReplyDeleteSingapore will sell ammo & missiles to both sides, as well as offer salvage, repair & overhaul for ships and aircraft, medical services and open up S'pore as R&R location for both.
War stocks baby!!!
It is now revealed that Trump knew about the impending kidnapping of Huawei CFO. John Boltan admitted he was aware that Canada would do its bidding when the 90-day truce was being signed. Trump did not expect China to be so cooperative. China agreed to buy more soybeans and other produce at dirt cheap prices and probably stockpiled the whole lot of them. Loser Trump must be hopping mad and went ballistic. China's next move is to secure the release of Sabrina Meng. China will probably use the UN International Court of Justice. It did that when Qian Xuesen, the father of Chinese rockets was illegally detained by Uncle Sam. Fear has made Trump come up with dumb actions.

ReplyDeleteIf this is truly a Chinese development, is there a need for China to steal technology from the US? Perhaps the evil empire and its poodle will say such technology is stolen from them.

In 1995, President Clinton signed an executive order barring U.S. investment in Iran’s energy sector.
ReplyDeleteTo evade U.S. law, Halliburton (CEO = Dick Cheney) set up an offshore subsidiary that engaged in dealings with Iran. So why wasn't Dick Cheney arrested?
The detention of a top Huawei executive in Canada has derailed British Columbia’s trade mission to China.
ReplyDeleteThe delegation led by B.C. Forestry Minister Doug Donaldson will no longer be stopping in China, and will instead end its trip after a visit to Japan.
Canada must now be declared as a Terrorist Country. It uses legality to kidnap rich VIPs just like the terrorists in the Philippines and Middle East, for RANSOM, under trumped up charges.
ReplyDeleteOn Friday, reports showed US IT company Cisco sent email to its employees over restrictions on their future travel to China out of concern for Beijing's "retaliation measures." Although Cisco later denied the story, it shows that arresting Huawei executive has created a climate of fear, even among American companies. In the end, the US threatening Chinese companies also threatens its own enterprises.
ReplyDeleteWashington is bringing terrorism to business competition. No matter how far US domestic law can reach - whether it can be applied to another nation's citizen or whether Huawei did violate US law - there has never been an incident in modern times quite like this of a country using mafia-style tactics: kidnapping an executive of an international corporation and holding her hostage as a political tool.
US claims Meng was arrested for sanctions-breaking business with Iran. But a wide range of companies, quite a few of them US allies, have been operating on Iranian soil in the face of US sanctions. Many were fined. No executives were seized.
Why is Meng being treated differently? Because Huawei, an outstanding representative of China's high-tech companies, has long been a thorn in US flesh. As a leading giant of global communication equipment suppliers, Huawei is expected to lead the global race for 5G networks. In the face of China's technological innovation and upgraded manufacturing, Washington has gone berserk. As Bloomberg pointed out: "No company better personifies the perceived trade threat than Huawei."
Washington has stopped being reasonable and is using the arrest as an attempt to thwart Huawei's future development. The primary purpose is to scare off US companies and companies from other nations from using Huawei technology, elbowing Huawei out of the future global 5G system.
The US should be reminded that when it reimposed unilateral sanctions on Tehran and threatened its allies to follow suit, the EU suggested the move jeopardized international security. "We believe that it is and has to be up to the Europeans in this case to decide with whom to trade," said High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini.
And if Washington's new terror tactic prevails in the business world, other countries will take similar action to target any company they want, using the excuse of their domestic laws . Business practice will be replaced by hooliganism. All the companies in the world will be under threat.
@ anon 1254:
ReplyDeleteI add further: everyone accepts that Trump’s days are probably numbered. Yes, he has house money at the moment, but he could easily be derailed by a host of federal felony indictments. People are gunning for his head---not just the dems but pissed of republicans too. These are very powerful people, they will put political differences aside and cooperate to take him down.
Even if he survives the scalping by the Americans, he is a temporary problem, as China is playing a much longer game.
Dr M flirts around. He knows when to kiss and make up. Such a leader will not win trust. Only Muslim countries patronize and humour him. Now age 93, Singapore can wait for him to kick the bucket. Using delaying tactics will suffice. He has always been trying to bully and intimidate Singapore. His tactics are anachronistic and will not work this time. Just let a sleeping fox lie.
