Singapore at a cross road choosing between China and India

The last decade or so after the demise of LKY, Singapore has chosen to follow the Americans and played the role of little USAs, dancing like little puppets on a string, depending on which string the Americans were pulling. It has a lot of advantages, primarily it gave Singapore the luxury of punching above its weight, sitting on the shoulder of American might. Singapore was so arrogant and confident that with the Americans behind, it could kick anyone it liked, behaving like a spoilt brat.

China was no exception and treated just like another state to be told off, to be challenged with total disrespect as if Singapore was an equal to China’s economic and military might. The blaring at China to follow the dubious ruling of the so called ‘UN backed’ funny private court formed by one party on the South China Sea dispute was the last straw, and China hit back. It was a rude awakening, that small country could not anyhow barked at big powers and thought it could get away with it. The reality was so shocking to those that advocated punching above its weight and totally relied on and be dependent on the Americans for its security concerns. This blind belief in American power was given a rough jolt and a thorough review on this policy was undertaken. Singapore paid a heavy price for listening to wrong advice from people who had fallen asleep and did not know what was happening in the world of big power relations, people who believed in their own delusion of greatness.

The Americans were no longer the Americans they used to know. The China was no longer the China they knew. It was late than never to wake up to the new reality. The world has changed while Singapore happily took a nap, thinking that all was well, all was the same.

Subsequent to the new developments and a new awakening, Singapore took a deep breath and found that it has to reshape its position vis a vis the new balance of power. The American way is no longer the way to a safe and secure future. The belligerent and warring path of the evil Empire would only drag Singapore into more troubles and enmeshed in disputes and wars that it needed not be involved. There is a need for rebalancing and to take a new policy forward for the good of Singapore. Putting all its eggs into the American basket is not the right way or safe way going forward.

The Americans’ isolationist and unilateral policies of going alone and thinking American first policy make things clearer and easier for Singapore to change direction. Free trade, multilateralism and rule of law are what were good for Singapore and what Singapore stood for. But whither Singapore if it stops taking sides with the Americans blindly to create trouble all over the world, starting wars, engaging in wars and in conspiracies and in destabilizing countries and regions?

The two rising Asian powers in India and China were beckoning. Come join us, we are the future super powers. Should Singapore join the Indian camp and be as powerful and prosperous as India as India rises to become the next super power, or should Singapore join the Chinese growth engine and be part of the Chinese plan to rebuild the world? Would Singapore become more like India or more like China as it realigns its policies with the next winning side, the next super power after Pax Americana?

PS. If Chok Tong is still the PM, the direction is very clear. He is very proud of the CECA and his Indian fever and the demography of Singapore is likely to change.

As for Hsien Loong, after years of listening to the pro USA and Indian camp and antagonizing China, leading to the Terrex Incident, his position is now wavering. On one hand he is trying to get into the BRI band wagon and chirping that Sino Singapore relations are very good and Singapore must be neutral in big power rivalry. On the other hand, the attack on China continues in the main media with many biased and anti China articles published almost daily.

Where would Singapore be heading? Would Singapore become more like Mumbai or Shanghai?

  3. One tribe provides spicy curry, 1 worker worked & 3 stand and watched, great at digging soil, and treat poor & women as lower caste.
Another tribe provides soup dishes, workers built buildings & bridges while bosses tried to squeezed & exploit, elites love state capitalism, and public like to gamble.

  4. Sink Ka Pore is already going to the Skunks. DOGS is in a way in a higher caste than the Skunks. With open legged policies of letting in the Third World and the so called cunning Scoundrels who came and robbed and black mailed the Banks and also the liviehoods of her citizens, the incompetent leaders are still grabbing at straws and looking for directions to find the correct path and light.

Now,after fifty odd years of uniteruppted One Party Rule, they still toying with what's Education and what's Smart Nation screwed up setups and policies.

Sinkies still sleeping that they are been overun by the Foreign Trashes who had already infiltrated into all government bodies and commercial entities.

The Parliament is also ran by the Minorities that had preferences for their own kind.

They want to have their cakes and same time eat them.Have priorities in having their choice and jumping queues in the allocation of Public Housings. Now wants priority and assisantance even in selling their flats for profits.

India, a hot air and empty vessel good for nothing shits ridden country would never be a Superpower.

Only good for conning and deceiving others as in their natural traits.

The way for Sinkieland's Salvation is to lean and cooperate with China. The boh lam par Leaders are just too afraid that the Sakais and the Brownies may accuse them of been Pro-China as a Chinese Majority Country. Which now it is not.

We are now in the 21st century and now in the Confrontation or Kronftasi Times of Sukarno.

  5. Singapore under the current system and current relationship with major powers policy is best for the country. Uncle Redbean is very pro-China and anti-USA. We all know that through his many anti=USA posts. One sided view from uncle Redbean is getting a little boring.

  11. Best for Singapore is to balance the Super and Duper Powers. Be neutral. Don't take sides.

And for goodness sake, stop punching above her weight because everybody knows Singapore has no weight but only a few feathers.

Even in Government and in Parliament, power must be balanced and proportionate. Too much power resting in the hands of the Indian Minority is not only bad administration but very bad politics in the eyes of the locals as well as in the eyes of the world.

I think, because of his poor health, Hsien Loong has not been working as vigorously as the Prime Minister should be, especially after his father's and mother's demise. It looks obvious that he has been over-dependent on a few of the Cabinet Ministers and he has not been providing as much direction as a good leader should be. That's why shits have been revealing themselves. Yet Hsien Loong seems to think the shits are ptecious gems.

Thirdly, the PAP has been scrubbing the bottom for real talents forvthe past 15 years or so. That's why rejects such as the asshole doctor and the no-clue on education Education Minister are treated like precious metals.

The decline is not only confined to intake of new talents but also in other areas, such as foreign policies, economic progress, financial management, attracting good foreign investments, infrastructure, transportation, environmental, education and health.

Singapore, under Hsien Loong's leadership has become a leaderless ship. A ship without proper compass and a captain is going nowhere but round and round in the same turbulent sea. It is a matter of time it will sink to the bottom.

  14. @ xenophobes and nationalists:

Aiyah, please lah. The Singapore Brand is one built on "attractiveness". ie. The Socio-Political Engineers make the place "look good" so that the world comes flocking to be part of The Action.

India gives us cheap, well-trained (๐Ÿ˜‰) labour, China gives us cheap products, America gives us cheap money, cheap talk and cheap entertainment....FREE if you just steal it from places like The Pirate Bay.๐Ÿ˜†

We need these cheap things, because we have to have enough money left over to pay our poor, starving ministers and public servants. We are a generous and compassionate people. We take care of our own, and we pay tribute to our Gods.

As long as our hardworking PAP keeps the place rocking and awesome, the nice foreigners will keep pouring money (aka "Assets Under Management") into the place, to be looked after by our happening financial sector.

By being "attractive", we can continue to grow and rock even harder. So please Don't fuck up the show!

  15. Singapore is good for fun and for spending your hard earned money. Tourists and foreigners from all over the world come to Singapore for fun and the Singapore Experience. Singaporeans who cannot afford to spend like the rich tourists are somewhat jealous. They think that because it is their little island they should be the ones to enjoy the glamour and the good life. The FTs who come to Singapore to earn big money, like the Indian and the European bankers are having a good time over here, much to the annoyance of the locals. In a place like Singapore money talks loud and clear. The locals on ordinary incomes can only stand by and watch the rich tourists and the well paid FTs enjoy themselves. The famous Singaporean kiasu and kiasi mentality will further encourage jealousy and bad feelings.

  16. "India is a country on a vastly different scale from Singapore. The river Ganga is almost a thousand times longer than the Singapore river. Yet there are some parallels in Singapore’s and India’s sanitation journeys," says Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in an exclusive column for Times Of India.

  19. The mighty Americans have already revised the meaning of the rule of international law and order.
The privately funded arbitration centre which rented a place at the Hague is trumpeted as an UN-affiliated institution, while the true organ of the UN organisation, the International Criminal Court (ICC), which is supported by 123 member states, is being accused by the US administration of illegitimacy and the judges are even threatened for investigating the atrocities committed by US military and intelligence officials in Afghanistan. Yet, countries supposedly steadfast in respecting and upholding the rule of law are not heard making any noise.
What is the world coming to?

  21. @ Haters gonna hate:

Hi there haters, man, I've just run into some juicy info to strengthen any case against mass immigration from "certain cuntries".

I'm of course referring to cousin-fucking cuntries, where cousin-fucking and related incestuous activities are common place.

Of course "cousin fucking" is used by vulgar, uneducated folks like me. The proper scientific term---for all you classy and sophisticated people---is Consanguinity.

As you can see form the data, Pakistanis are up to 70% in-bread, and the practice is also widespread in India---although people resort to ways to skirt Hindu religious law. (hey man, if cousins are going to fuck, they are going to fuck...Lord Khrishna can go eat a bag of dicks! )

Anyway, I'm just saying....not being racist here. We might be letting too many cousin-fuckers into the cuntry. That could have bad effects on our birth rates and maybe perhaps the gene-pool as a whole. Evidence for the adverse effects of consanguinity can be seen in he UK.

Their birthday all here leh. Who want stick some joss stick and perform some spell? Wah seh. Dr Chee still alive? 70 percent vote PAP, all those oppositions never sit wheel chair? China all want try cast spell on Donald Trump?

Does Ang Dao Lau Chek support Amos Yee? Why Amos Yee dont run to China? Will get beheaded a not? Satan want to harm people need to get permission from heaven on top first? Satan kill more or Heaven on top kill more? If heaven on top kill more than satan, is it because there is a lot of evil person? Or heaven on top is evil? If there is a lot of evil person, why dont the heaven on top just make them die in sleep?

The Tide Is Rising Against The Unscrupulous Unilateral Mafia Modus Operandi of Dotard Hitler Trump

The UN’s international court of justice has reprimanded the US over its re-imposition of sanctions on Iran, ordering Washington to lift restrictive measures linked to humanitarian trade, food, medicine and civil aviation.

"The court considers that the United States, in accordance with its obligations under the 1955 treaty, must remove, by means of its choosing, any impediments arising from the measures"

  24. Datin Rosmah Mansor, Wife of Ex-PM Najib Razak, Arrested

The wife of Malaysia's scandal-ridden former Prime Minister has been placed under arrest.

Officials of Malaysia's anti-graft agency say Rosmah Mansor will face several charges, including money laundering.

Rosmah is being investigated in connection with the State Fund 1MDB scandal, involving her husband, the Ex-Premier Najib Razak.

Rosmah was detained on Wednesday (3-10-2018) during the third round of questioning. She is expected to be charged on Thursday.

Rosmah had regularly been criticized for her extravagant lifestyle. She is known for her love of expensive jewellery, designer hand-bags and designer shoes.

Her husband Najib faces 32 charges (so far) of using his position as Prime Minister and Finance Minister to obtain hundreds of millions of dollars from the State Investment Fund, 1 MDB, which he has created. He denies any wrongdoing.

The scandal played a big role in Najib's surprise election loss on 9th May, 2018, the day 92 year-old former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad was brought back to power.

It is understood that Najib's children and step children, and some top UMNO officials might have been involved with the 1 MDB scandal too. More arrests may be envisaged.

  25. Do you think, in the future, Singapore's ex-PM and his wife could be arrested?

    Will God be willing?

Will justice be done on Earth as it is in Heaven?

Will there be courage and wisdom amongst the voters of Singapore?

If yes, why? If no, why?
