Seah Kian Peng’s criticism of Thum Ping Tjin for inviting Mahathir to
bring democracy to Singapore and the remark ‘it appears quite clear to
me that PJ Thum does not wish Singapore well’ is like lighting a small
fire that threatens to burn down a forest. This comment is read by Thum
as calling him a traitor is ‘ridiculous and unfounded’. No decent person
would be comfortable to be on the receiving end of being called a
traitor to his country.
The accusation has fired up two opposing camps, with those supporting
the group that met Mahathir calling it baseless and a more dangerous
development for the group that supported or believed in Seah Kian Peng’s
finger pointing. The result as reported in thenewpaper is “‘a torrent
of accusations of treason’ and death threats against the group”.
Hopefully this is just wild reactions from the hotheaded and nothing
more and nothing untowards happened to the threatened group of people.
Seah Kian Peng might have noticed the ginny out of the bottle and is
calling for some calm and decorum and ‘not get personal or abusive’
about the matter. It is just a matter of ‘different viewpoints and we
can agree or disagree and be civil about it’. It is good that Seah Kian
Peng saw the severity of the accusation and reactions from the ground
and wanted to lower the temperature. And since it is just a matter of
viewpoints, hopefully there will be no follow up threats of calling Sue
or police investigation on the group and Thum in particular. He added,
“It is regretful that I see all kinds of abusive remarks that are made
by many different individuals (and trolls) against each other. I do not
support such types of comments, regardless of what views of positions
they take.”
The master has spoken. Would the trolls or doggies stop barking and stop
biting? It must be quite frightening to Thum and his group to be
branded traitors in the media and by a MP of the ruling party. OK, Seah
Kian Peng did not use the word traitor on them, but it is how they felt
and perceived and how the trolls and public read and reacted to it.
I hope the general public would be mature enough to see the nuances and
the real stuff and not be misled by any silly comments. Can I say let’s
move on? Or would there be more sinister things brooding?
PS. Napoleon has unleashed his attack dogs to bite.

ReplyDeleteMP Seah Kian Peng's motives are sinister. As a practically unheard of MP, he suddenly appeared from nowhere to hurl baseless accusation at Dr Thum for not wishing Singapore well. He has been hoarding the limelight ever since. He appears to be an opportunist trying to curry favour with his master. Not a single PAP bigwig has commented on Dr Thum meeting up with Dr M. The only exception was the black cobra which once spent 6 hours trying to swallow Dr Thum. MP Seah's inciting hatred against a fellow Singaporean is the same tactic used against Dr Chee in the past. He debased himself by stooping so low.

ReplyDelete@ patriotic traitors & the Singapore culture of "truth by stereotyping":
ReplyDeleteThis recent cluster-fuckis proof-positive that Singaporeans have chosen a govt which is EXACTLY like them; adding weight to my ongoing hypothesis that A nation's politics and therefore government is derived from the CULTURE of its Sheeple.
Singaporeans just love getting to "the truth" by a heuristic process we fondly know as stereotyping. To use stereotypes to explain something is VERY EFFICIENT because it saves time and the unnecessary expense of logic, evidence and reason to get the "right answer".
For e.g.: if something is awry,it is automatically the fault of the authoritarian government. From the govt's point: CPF cannot be given to the people because they are financially undisciplined and will spend it all, leaving The State to introduce welfare.
Another famous stereotype: You must pay fat salaries or you won't get the "right people" in govt.
A nice one from our history:
"We are 'surrounded' by crazy Islamic cuntries who are going to invade us. Therefore we must have NS.
How about this little gem from around the same time:
"Long-haired louts are bad people. They are potential drug addicts and criminals".
And this one:
"We, the govt, should do whatever it takes to DISCOURAGE those 'selfish Singaporeans' from having more than 2 kids"
How about:
"Can't trust a Singaporean Malay fella with weapons. He's a potential traitor".
And from the same mouth (LKY): "Johor is fullof murderers and thugs".
And it goes on and on...
Yes, Singapore, you have chosen well. Your govt is made up of people EXACTLY LIKE YOURSELVES.
The May-Lay Dilemma
OK, time for me to counter the attempt of a few "patriotic traitors" who some how believe that Dr M's has "superhero powers" to magically "bring democracy to Singapore". As I've said before, people are free to do things which are unexamined and have no legs in reality. It's your life to waste.
Dr M's political actions are mostly consistent. He's trying to get the May-Lays to discard their welfare-handout mentality, whilst keeping a check on the Chinese dominance in the economy. Examine these closer, and you will see that it is illogically HILARIOUS🤣😂.
1. To the May-Lay: "Work harder become successful, don't expect handouts".
2. To the Chinese: "Don't work so hard, don't become too successful! don't expect anything from us except criticism"
So in seemingly "more democratic" Malaysia, the May-Lay is still behind, whilst in less democratic Singapore the Malays are solid citizens, productive, educated and have the same chances as anyone at achievement.
Maybe Dr M should concentrate on solving the May-Lay Dilemma, which he is.
Maybe Singapore is better off by having their politics and government is rock-solid LOCK STEP with the culture of its citizens.
If you use data and correlation (which may or may not imply causation) instead of "stereotypes" to get some idea of what is actually going on, maybe Dr M could use some of our ideas, which appear to be working.
This episode must have been orchestrated by a mastermind from behind. Sia-suoy Kian-png is not alone. He has been used as a minion stooge. I guess he acted under someone's instructions.
ReplyDeleteI believe that Dr Thum is as concern for Singapore and Singaporeans as any of the Ministers and MPs, or even more. Many MPs don't even turn up when Parliament is in sessions. What are they elected for? Their primary responsibility also cannot shoulder.
Dr Thum can sacrifice his time to go and talk with Dr Mahathir for the sake of bring democracy to Singapore and for a better Singapore, even though he is not an elected MP. This action puts all MPs to shame, for doing nothing but only know how to carry balls and collect money.

And if the Generals are in charge ... shouldn't you get permission from the General first?
Is there any difference between living in Singapore and living in an army camp?
Yeh, they are trying to destroy Thum like they destroyed Chee. Those assholes that helped to destroy Chee must be cursing themselves for being used to do such dastardly and shameful thing on another fellow Singaporean. Some of them are so ashamed of their shameful acts that they dared not talk about it again. Don't no where to hide their face.

In Hokkien, Kan means "xxxx" aka shaft the tinkie into an "oyster" between those subservient "xxx" slaves and repeatedly pull in and out ...
DeleteBor Yong means "useless", "shorties" ...
"Xxxx" also cmi means Kan Bor Yong
Like when ShamboLEE second a junior legal director to another agency and this motherfarker asshole useless legal director can run riot there and the shortie also LL (lan lan) aka Kan Bor Yong ...
In other words, Kan Bor Yong means useless and can be pushed around even by a junior legal director sent by SHAMboLEE to his agency ...
Kan Bor Yong means pathetically useless and fat shorties ...
Kan Bor Yong means cannot get any respect from others cos even a junior legal director also can sia lan around there, take lunch for hours and noboLEE especially those Kan Bor Yong type dare "touch" him cos he is "SHAMboLEE's" people ...
So Kan Bor Yong people think they very smart good at surface and superficial politics but actually behind them the subordinates despise and look down on them in their hearts ...
Mo Lan Yong same same Kan Bor Yong lor ...
The above is a hypothetical example and can be in any situation but scenario same same lah ...
Means SHAMboLEE can show who is the real boss by climbing on those of his head to shit using his junior "henchman" and even ordered Kan Bor Yong here and there to meet this ShamboLEE's kar kia and this Kan Bor Yong obliged so you think useless pathetic or not if SHAMboLEE like that ...
Kan Bor Yong aka chinese term lah "实在没有用" ... Softie, useless ...
Even other ministry's junior staff like a seconded junior director can yaya suka suka and climb on his head to shit ...?
Hum chee is like scary cat .. Kan Bor Yong is like useless cat ... Scary cat see mouse not scared but see dog scared. Kan Bor Yong type see mouse also pee in his pants and flee ...?

Three activists have urged Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to look into the "highly irresponsible" conduct of MP Seah Kian Peng and Home Affairs and Law Minister K. Shanmugam, who had criticised the three over their recent meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad.
ReplyDeleteHistorian Thum Ping Tjin, journalist Kirsten Han and activist Jolovan Wham made the call in a letter addressed to PM Lee, who is secretary-general of the ruling People's Action Party (PAP). A largely similar letter was also addressed to Mr Charles Chong, who is chairman of the Select Committee on Deliberate Online Falsehoods.
"Pingtjin Thum, Jolovan Wham and I have sent letters of complaint to both Charles Chong, chairman of the Select Committee on Deliberate Online Falsehoods, and Lee Hsien Loong, Secretary-General of the People's Action Party, about Seah Kian Peng's allegations, which are unbecoming of a PAP MP and a member of the Select Committee," Ms Han posted on Facebook on Wednesday (Sept 5). She also released to the media copies of the letters they had sent.

Independence Day – A political interpretation
The objections to the Pinoys celebrating their Independence Day in a public area like Orchard Road have drawn out sympathetic responses from some Sinkies. Even the ST did not miss the negativity of the outcry and came out with an editorial calling for a curb on anti foreign rantings. Many Sinkies are still adamant that such a celebration should not be held in the streets of our city but in private or within the compound of an embassy.
An Independence Day is a political statement of a nation of people breaking free from the oppression of colonialism or an external power. Every country is proud of their Independence Day, and the Pinoys are no exception. Should we allow or support such a celebration in Orchard Road? We have many very open minded Sinkies who would not mind and may even ask what is the fuzz all about. And they would look at it unkindly to Sinkies who tried to make a big issue out of it and calling them narrow minded and old fashion backward patriots, out of touch with the reality of a new globalise world.
Are there any merits to those who objected to such a public celebration by a tribe of foreigners in the heart of our global city? Put it in another way, how would we view it if the Malaysians would to celebrate their Independence Day at the Padang and with speakers standing at the steps of City Hall shouting, ‘Merdeka, Merdeka!’ How would the Sinkies feel if the PRC Chinese or the India Indians would to do the same?
Or how would the Malaysians or our neighbouring countries feel if Sinkies would to celebrate our National Day in the heart of their cities and shouting ‘Merdeka, Merdeka?’ Politically speaking there is some sensitivity involved and some subtlety in the meaning of celebrating an Independence Day in a foreign country. Are they implying that they are now independence from us, the City that hosts them, that they could do anything they want here as free and independent residents? Of course they don’t mean it.
What is the political message? Today we allowed the Pinoys to celebrate their Independence Day openly, would we also allow the other tribes to celebrate their Independence Day here as well? Are we being too uptight? Or should we be the generous host, the global citizens, opened minded, sophisticated anything goes as long as it is fun, and let everyone have a good time, to celebrate their Independence Day in our streets?
What do you think?
PS. Yesterday my pageview hit a new record of more than 12,200 in a single day. But somehow it did not translate to more kopi. /////
Compare to those who supported the idea of Pinoy holding their Independence Day celebration in Orchard back in 2014 including Seah Kian Peng GRC teammate Tan Chuan Jin who labelled true blue Singaporeans who opposed the idea "bigots", to those who met Dr M recently, whose position is actually traitorous?
The real traitors are people who have the power to sell off the country and betray their own countrymen.

June 27, 2018 5:21 am /////
Who?
Part 1:
ReplyDelete///// Human beans civilisation has progressed tremendously since the Neolithic Revolution around 10,000 BC where there was wide spread change from hunting to agricultural lifestyle.
Despite such polar change, one constant remains: adaptation. The ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions and circumstances.
But to do that, human beans need to know what lies ahead, then formulate what steps to take in respond to the anticipated change and galvanise those around them to recognise the common interests and the same boat they are in.
Now, fast forward 12,000 years. From the vast continents on earth 120 centuries ago to global cities at this very moment of time. In this age of artificial intelligence, technological disruption, globalisation, megalomania, even disguised dictatorship and despotism under the cloak of democracy, what should the average human bean expect and how should they respond? The need to survive and live decently well is as true now as in the Neolithic era, the unchanging constant in a contantly changing human bean kingdom.
In the physical world, there are traumatic changes from time to time. Earthquakes, tsunamis ... ect etc. Under such ginormous stress, at times even the immovable mountains collapse. During each earthquake, huge cracks and fissures open up and some unwitting human beans fall inside and often perish.
In the modern economy, cracks and fissures can open up as well from time to time and some unfortunate human beans inadvertently and unwittingly get caught in such economic change. Globalisation and technological disruption often bring with it structural unemployment, widening social inequality, wild economic fluctuations and cycles.
The modern human beans need to be smart enough to protect themselves before "economic earthquakes or tsunamis" hit them from time to time. They need to understand what are happening and look ahead.
Unfortunately under current system, many human beans may have received an education that could have been adapted from dogs training centres?
Many youngsters may not even have read the news for the past days, weeks, months, years? /////
Part 2:
Delete///// For example, to avoid being the unwitting and unfortunate one falling into the "cracks and fissures" under ginormous economic change, one should leverage on the FOC available data (for example leading macroeconomic indicators) provided by many goverments especially agencies such as central banks.
The problem with current system is that even many graduates do not read or know how to read or understand such data? Pathetic, isn't it? There could be some truth that some (education) systems are adpated from dogs training centres (and thus ill-suited for human beans)?
To mitigate the problems of more and more unwitting human beans falling in the cracks and fissures when ginormous economic change occurs, for a start an education system should be formulated more for human beans?
This is an opinionated view and obviously some may not agree.
However, how to solve the problems then?
Enact more punitive and draconian laws to further punish those poor unwitting human beans who had fallen into the cracks and fissures?
So as to achieve globally the highest per capita in terms of the number of draconian laws put in place to make sure citizens toe the line not unlike new recruits in a highly regimented military training camp?
The decision taken to solve current problems may likely be a determinant to
what and how a society turns out to be down the road and what the human beans in such a society would become? /////
This place is as good as a "civilian" military "country" camp lah? Look from the top to bottom? The PM is an ex-BG, the DPM is an ex-Admiral, then some MG, LG and BG etc ..... So what to do? Look at the MRT stations eveLEEday? Kekananpusing ... ! berarak ke hadapan cepat jalan!!! Policies wise, after a short while - keblaganpusing ..... Real wage increment - hentakkakihentak - marching on the spot ... Goodness!!!?
