To Buy or not to Buy Life Insurance is Individuals' Prerogative Rights.
To buy or not to buy life insurance policies is an individual's prerogative right. No one should be allowed to trample on this sacred human right on whatever the pretext. No insurance companies or corporations or conglomerates or insurance agents should have the right to force the people to buy life policies. No one in his right mind should be allowed to override this basic inherent human right.
Majority of working class people can hardly earn enough to sustain their every day life sustenance. Yet they have to be compulsorily forced to pay for their CPF. Do they still have enough cash left to be forced again into buying irrelevant life insurance schemes. If buying life insurance policies is made compulsory into a national commercial policy it is tantamount to stepping on an individual's basic human right.
There is no problem with the elites one percent or upper middle class ten percent population who earn hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars every year so they can buy any number of life policies they want to which ironically they do not need to except perhaps out of greed.
Big insurance companies anywhere in the world earn hundreds of millions or billions every year. But how much do they dispense due to claims, very minimal not even five percent or at most hardly ten percent .
CPF which is supposed to be an individual's life savings but has been hijacked into some sort of insurance schemes like Medisave, Medishield and Eldershield. Eldershield hardly dispense more than a few percent in claims out of the billions it has raked in as profit. And now the working class people are again forced to pay the compulsory Care Shield Life Insurance. How many more billions will this Care Shield Life Insurance squeeze from the people? And how does it intend to really dispense for subscribers when their needs arise without trying to give excuses of not paying out with illogical rules like what is happening with Elder Shield in which you can draw from the scheme only when you are bedridden, when you can't feed yourself, when you can't bathe yourself, when you are handicapped with only one eye or one leg or one arm. This is really atrocious. In other words they will dispense your claims only in the last episode of your life in the last few days, few weeks or few months of your life. Why can't they kick in the payment earlier to make the difference when an individual's life can still be saved?
So this sort of insurance scheme is very mercendary. The scheme is only concerned with making more and more money and yet it is claimed that the scheme is good for the people. Therefore the authority must not arrogate to itself the right to impose the scheme on the people. The people's interest must not be subservient and subsumed to the profit oriented interest of the insurance company or companies. Must the people continue to be conned and block chained?
For fair play the people must be given some leeway or else it is going to be troublesome when many really cannot afford to pay.
Southernglory1
All the government insurance schemes like the Medishield, Eldershield and now CareShield Life Insurannce are legalised daylight robberies. And yet when people really cannot afford to pay under this force subscriptions it is considered a criminal offence. The people cannot be pushed too hard against the wall just as the Chinese say, 'Push the tiger to the wall and it will fight back.'

@ RB
ReplyDeleteAgain you misunderstand. There are no such things as "sacred human rights". Stop drinking the United Nation's Kool Aid lah, or just swallowing bullshit which has no basis in the real world.
The only people who subscribe to this lofty idea of "human rights" are fuckers living in rich cuntries, who also happen to be reasonably educated...educated enough to twist words into ideas, which they try to palm off as "TRUTH" to a gullible audience connected 24/7 to the net (which is how this shit propagates so quickly).
You also are in self-denial on the fact that, even if (a very big IF) "human rights" actually really did exist in REALITY, Singapore the sovereign cuntry and city state applies Singapore law to the territory.
In other words, what you can and cannot do is not up to you is it up to The State (the govt runs the state). This point was made over and over by Lee Kuan Yew. "The PAP is the govt, and The Govt is the PAP. We will tell you what's what" [Note] I'm butchering the quote, actually several quotes...but you get the idea.
Talking about rights in Singapore is usually a losing proposition and a waste of precious, expensive time.
The People Got The Govt They Deserve. :-)
how to opt out for sinkies living overseas?
ReplyDeleteSinkies have no right under yellow skin lee-ches rule. They act like ticks and only know how to suck blood. Must return smalland back to white skin uk or oz rule like xmas island then will have right, proper houses and proper cars. See those islanders, no need to work hard all their lives but can retire so nicely in oz. Sinkies worked like shit so hard also have nothing in the end. So envy.
ReplyDeleteThere wont be anybody to fight back because Sinkies are cowards, not tigers!
ReplyDeleteYes, if you push the tigers against the wall, they will counter-attack and make sure they kill you for good and for food.
But when you push the cowards against the wall, they put both their hands in the wall and offer you their assholes for you to screw and ask you to screw harder.
This is the reality of life in a society filled will kiasu and kiasi people who are also very self-centred and cheap-skates.
I agree provided that no taxpayer funds are also used to bail out those who don't buy medical insurance, and then complain no money for doctor or hospital or nursing home --- and then expect govt & society to pay for them.
ReplyDeleteWhat has happened to the last paragraph? Where is the "push the tigers against the wall and they will fight back"? Amended already?
ReplyDeleteSinkies are really kiasu and kiasi.
Let me clarify who are going to be the TIGERS and who are going to be their MEAT.
ReplyDeleteThe foreign Trashes who have gained their foothold here are going to be the TIGERS.
Sinkies are going to be their MEAT.
These trashes from their Cowboys countries of Pinoys, Vietnamese, Ah Nehs and the what's you have have seen murders, rapes, assaults and what's you have practically everyday of their lives.
They just come here for a week and simply observed the Sinkies.
Wah Piang, now only the old generations Sinkies whose bodies full of Tigers and Dragons Tattoos have mostly lost their Fire.
The New Generation Sinkies also full of colourful Tatoos are there only for show.
When we just give a shout, most will cringe and shied away.
Like taking candies from little children. Their Leaders aiyo, much worse than them.
See their Generals. Aiyo, Hokkien said Bay How Khaw.
One Mat Land Kernel or Colonel with his real soldier stern face can make them shits in their pants.
See how Sinkies got walloped, Orr bak Kat by them everywhere.
Even the SOC. Wah Piang Special Commands.
The main purpose of getting all Sinkies compulsory conned in the Insurance Scam is the Economy of Scale.
You yourselves subsiding one and another whilst we with our cronies and our shares in them made the MONIES.

ReplyDelete>> how to opt out for sinkies living overseas?
If you have relinquished your citizenship and collected everything from CPF, you are not under SIngapore law. You can get on the net and troll all the butt-hurt Singapore citizens, and tell them how awesome you are that you now live in a 3-storey landed family home in Vancouver, which you bought from the sale of your tiny box of an HDB...and ridicule the citizens of Singapore on how dumb they are, how the PAP are assholes etc etc...same old karaoke song lah. π
For crazy nuts like me who pay until backside bleeding to live in 2 (or more) cuntries---keeping my SG citizenship and applying for working visa in Oz when the visa runs out...no escape. I have to top up my Medisave, CPF etc...I don't worry...they regularly send me mail to remind me that "I owe myself money". Yah, such a concept exists in Singapore: Be careful, you can end up owing yourself money. π€£π
For e.g: if you use CPF to buy HDB, then you sell HDB at a loss...congratulations: you owe yourself money.
But the govt which invented this insanity gets voted back in, time after time. So what to do? The easiest: COMPLY with the govt. Pay lah, not so bad. Singapore taxes, in general, and the "sensible" regulations for doing business are still amongst THE VERY BEST in the whole fucking world.
To me, living in this world and wanting to live a reasonably good and comfortable life involves expenses. Along the way to your own personal "Nirvana" are many "tolls" you have to pay. When I was younger, and filled with the vim and vigour of youth, I used to fight and negotiate to get "the best deal" (i.e. pay the least money, or get off not paying at all). Now I'm older, more "relac-lah-brudder"...if the "expense" is reasonable...fuck it lah...just pay.
@ RB & southernglory:
ReplyDeleteSuffice it to say I have very reliable "little bird" Intel (i.e. a little bird told me... ) about the goins-on in our mother cuntry, beloved jewel, idyllically and ideally located in the world's lucrative trading routes, and home to the largest cohort of MILLIONAIRES proportionate to the population...in the entire history of the world. This is not a boast. It is in my best interest to be "connected" even to fuckers I don't particularly respect nor like.
1. The forced insurance thing is part of the plans to prevent Singapore from becoming a welfare state. The other policy already in force are the Filial Piety laws. The young buggers now in govt, and climbing up the political ladder to one day run the show, are adamant to prevent the reserves from being touched for "welfare" or to allow Singaporeans to make claims on the state for their "economic survival". Be prepared for more bullshit. Oh yes, the premiums will rise. The reason: DEMOGRAPHICS. All you macro market guys, you know about it, so you explain lah.
2. The MoH hack. Right now as I write this, there are probably lots of headless chickens running around to come up with an "explanation" as to how this happend. Needless to say, backsides are being covered, right this minute. Right now it is IRRELEVANT if the Chinese did the hack. What is relevant is WHY it happened undetected.
OK, I've said enough. Go do your own digging...π
Wah lao matilar... That means cannot escape lah ... as long remain sinkie even if south pole also must pay.
ReplyDeleteWonder if CPF will behave like IRAS? Last time i didn't pay some extra taxes, Iras ordered DBS to deduct my savings account & transferred to IRAS. I didn't know until 2 months later when DBS send letter to me.
Dunno if pap govt still use this "garnishee" order. Should be the case lah.
If your CPF & local bank accounts kosong then they'll send you court letters. O$P$ plus fines somemore.
Your only real right is your precious vote. Dont waste it on a drum stick bribe obtained from the 108 chicken extracted from you & your family.
ReplyDeleteThe got so used to bully the people and robbing their CPF savings now it becomes second nature. No need to think, no hesitation when robbing the people's CPF saving is concerned. Just take as much as they like.

ReplyDelete>> Wah lao matilar... That means cannot escape lah ... as long remain sinkie even if south pole also must pay. <<
Not necessarily. You pay only if you want to keep your citizenship. Most people give it up, so that they can have a nice lump of money to emigrate. No joke...supposing you and your partner give up citizenship and collect the entire amount in CPF? That's a lot of money. Plus the money from sale of home/ homes...yah, many Singaporeans who emigrate do so with significant financial strength.
>> Wonder if CPF will behave like IRAS? <<
In Singapore, when it comes to govt taking your money...anything is possible ππ€£. But I doubt it. Most CPF contributions are done in working life, and most people are salaried, so the CPF is automatically deducted. Self-employed people...as long as the majority pay up and delinquency is low, things won't change. Using the law to "confiscate" money form your bank account is not something The State uses suka suka. IRAS can do it because raising revenue bu taxation is fundamental to the survival and strength of The State.
