Another silly NYT article trying to demonise North Korea

Some of you here cannot tahan my hard truth about the westerners and their century old smear campaign against Asians in general and China, N Korea, Iran and a few others in particular. Just read the daily verbiage in print in western media and unthinking stupid Asian media allowing themselves to be used by the westerners to rubbish Asians and you will understand why. They will keep repeating their lies and over time many unthinking readers would believe that they are truths. Some are so used to such rubbish as part of their lives and thinking that they are gems and truths and will parrot them around.

There was an article in the Today paper by NYT on 13 July attacking the North Koreans for sending their people to work overseas as slave labours with the govt confiscating their income for the state. I will just quote the silly things they said and readers here should be able to relate them to the conditions of foreigners working here, including Singaporeans that are no difference or could even be worst off, but never reported so negatively as slave workers.

1. North Korean labourers helped build a new soccer stadium in St Petersburg…a project which at least one of them died. They are working in central Moscow, where two North Koreans were found dead last month in squalid hostel near the construction site. (Try to compare this with the death of foreign workers in Singapore, including the maids).

2. Most of their earnings are confiscated by the state. (Got such thing in Singapore or not?).

3. …his highest paid workers now lose half or more of their monthly salary through confiscation, while the leader of each construction squad of about 20 to 30 labourers takes an additional cut of about 20 per cent in return for finding painting jobs for his men. (Familiar? This NYT author must be living in a well).

4. Quoting a North Korean painter, ‘I hope I can come back’ to work again after his work permit expires. (Think what our maids and foreign workers are saying here when their WP expired).

5. The Russian boss said North Koreans work “crazily long hours” without complaint and call him at 6am, even on weekends,…They are basically in the situation of slaves.”(Think of the working hours of the maids here).

6. All the same, he added, North Koreans will want to work in Russia, where, despite the hardships and confiscation of a big chunk of their ‘CPF, oops’ wages, they can live better and freer than they do at home. (Sound familiar?)

How much difference are the North Korean foreign workers’ fate in Russia compare to the foreign workers and the maids here? Why the constant attack against North Korea with such rubbish distorted news?

Shall I stop writing about the western media farce but let them continue to write what they want since the last couple of centuries? What they wrote daily are acceptable, reputable and respectable media, what I wrote now and then are not acceptable, fake news?

PS. Singaporeans cannot distinguish between fake news and facts. It would be worst when fake news are officially sanctioned as real news by govts  to spread their lies.

  1. The biggest export for the North Koreans is building giant monuments of national leaders with each project costing tens of millions. The little African despotic countries have engaged the North Koreans to build statues of their dictators all over Africa to remember their great leaders.

    RB

Because North Korea with their ICBM (intercontinental ballistic missile) is considered their enemy mah.

Just like the Sinkie opposition who fight PAP in election is considered PAP enemy mah.

So must attack enemy lah, if cannot directly, then indirectly like this to weaken them mah, tio bo?

  3. Why is Poland's government worrying the EU?

The Polish government has tightened controls over the civil service, the courts, and the media. These recent changes are causing the EU great concerns.

Tens of thousands of people have protested in Poland against the country's new conservative government for the second weekend in a row.

Demonstrations took place in more than 20 cities.

Why the Pathetic Sinkies are not worrying the PAP?

In Sinkieland, the Pappies have taken control of almost everything - the judiciary, the legislative, the executive, the courts, the mass media, the internet, the admin service, the civil service, all the organs of state, all the statutory boards, all government agencies and ministries, and most important of all YOUR CPF SAVINGS MONEY!

All under the command and control of ONE MAN called by his own younger sister and brother as a Dishonourable Son who has abused his powers and misuse the organs of state, and his wife takes over control of the PMO like nobody's business.

Yet there were only 500 conscionable heroes at Hong Lim Park yesterday!

The Most Pathetic and Tragic Lot of People in the World, is it not?

I shall continue my story of "The Pathetic and Tragic Story of the Little Red Dot" tomorrow.

  4. If cannot attack directly and militarily, then enemy must be weakened by other means lah.

If other means also cannot, best is to make friends with the enemy for your benefit lah.

But since North Korea doesn't want to make friend with USA by not having ICBM, and USA also dare not attack North Korea militarily, so the other way is to attack to demonise them lah.

So all this is understandable lah, as understandable as to why Hsien Loong did not want to sue his siblings.

But majority Sinkies still got jobs and money and also have good life mah. Or at least for the majority, life is still quite OK lah.

So if life is still OK, why bother the Pappies have taken control of almost everything?

U mean go to Hong Lim Park or vote opposition as govt can change things for the better meh? If not, why bother, u tell me lah?

  7. North Koreans sent overseas to work is legal to the country. The country sign contracts with Russia China Middle east Africa places. Workers are assigned to do the work without choice.
A certain unknown voluntary contributions are given to the government.

There is not such thing as U are 18 year old, u must be paid at 500pm and do jobs as risky as blasting yourself handling explosive.

The koreans contracts seemed to be want take it dont want dun. In some places, labor earnings are cut off with 20% from workers. The contributions was said in parliament as "not contributors money" by one paikah mp. This kind of things are real. Not much transparency on contributions. North Korea just take the contributions. Some countries take the money by steps may be.

North Koreans cannot travel free outside. Those ran away will be bullied into slaves. Heard of blanga taking $400pm to work in certain place and borrowed $10000 from middle men who introduced these blanga jobs? This kind of mom legal contracts are not forced labor. US state department will not mention them. Kaki nan cannot have forced labor. North Korea must have forced labor and trafficking.

Many still worshiped them as Gods. They are the World's Greatest Hypocrites whom patted you on your shoulders with one hand and the other stuck their fingers into your arses.

The news report mentioned only a one sided story of the African tourist.

There may have been unreported aggravating factors that could have triggered the incident.

Anyway, there are always a few black sheep in every race, so one cannot generalise like the way you said.

Only a khongcum can come to such a conclusion.

70% voted PAP does not mean they like or supported the PAP. It may be just that they are choosing between the lesser of 2 evils.

With my simple explanation, hope you are clear now.

  11. The Hong Lim open seminar was done professionally yesterday. It was not like the young Turks who cross loud speakers with some children events so tense and unhappy.

Since the young Turks event. Few has confidence on organizers except the pink dot which come with freebies for the young to learn how to be gay and network.

The mainly 50s of age joining yesterday s event at Hong Lim has implications.

Jobs being replaced by employment passes foreigners resulting them having short in wealth distributions. These are the tip of iceberg who show up at Hong Lim.

CPF being stopped by new term: ms. Couple with no income due to jobless and foreign talent pap program, these at 50s will be a good watch for support for WP. WP old hacks should consider to be senior mm if they refuse to go. WP should expand with more professionals to under study at meet the people sessions to know the wider wealth distribution gaps.

Singapore s unique pap distribution wealth gap is: foreigners monthly ship out billions of dollars, to result retailers having not enough business to cover rental, not to talk about increase salary.

SDP WP are the 2 parties will do well in coming election.

Chee Soon Juan and Low Thia Khiang can work together meh?

If not, want to bluff who, to say a opposition coalition govt will be better than PAP?

Remember, majority sinkies vote for a party to become govt, not just to have more MPs, OK?

From the rate ah long did damage to his reputation, no amount of what lau go said can help him. U do not believe is your own rights.

Singaporeans belonged to singaporeans and not the familee. The slogan is correct. Your cpf will have not enough to live at retired status if you are below 50s. U have the rights to support ah long eying at your cpf. All others will be running off when seeing ah long going after their already diminished wealth and jobs market.

Pap may flood new citizens from sunny lands. These people will still have to eat here. One bowl at hawker center is $5 per meal.
Pap s high cost for citizens, let foreigners work here program promoted by ah long will bite ah long s support. U are the few who support him. Good luck.

U mean this only happen now meh? It happened even way before 2015, u know.

Now PAP, at least realising the scale of the problem, has been reducing the flood of new citizens by a lot, and for quite some time already. That's why my company, which is in the engineering line, now has great difficulty recruiting foreigners unlike before, not to say locals.

  16. No worries. Soon sinkie guys will go Russia or Siberia to be construction workers too. Plenty money to earn. Sinkie girls will go become world class prostitutes. Earn more than PAPpy ministers.

Govt reduce foreigners coming in does not mean u will not see anymore foreigners lah.

Some more let me tell u hor, a lot of these foreigners are already PRs or even citizens!

For instance, my company still has a lot of foreigners (about 90% of them) but most are already PRs or citizens, u know.

It is just that now it is more difficult to recruit new foreigners. End up we are forced to get locals at higher pay but not much better or even worse in terms of work and job attitude.

    Hope u get it now.

  22. Anon3:14, hope you got replaced by foreigners soon and unable to find another job.

  25. From Yahoo News Singapore:

Speaker of Parliament Halimah Yacob said on Sunday (16 July) that she is “thinking about” standing in September’s Presidential Election (PE), which is reserved for Malay candidates.

“I am thinking about it, of running for the presidency,” the 62-year-old Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC MP said after a community event in her ward, according to a Straits Times report.

“The elected presidency is a very heavy responsibility and an important institution in Singapore, so it’s not something that one should take lightly,” she added.

Halimah noted that she still had “a lot of duties” to perform as Speaker of Parliament and as an MP, and that this work is “very dear and important to her”. In order to contest the election, she will have to quit the aforementioned posts and resign from the People’s Action Party (PAP).

A former unionist, Halimah has served as Speaker of Parliament since January 2013 and has been a Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC MP since 2015.

The announcement came following much speculation over her possible candidacy; a subject that Halimah remained tight-lipped over when confronted by the media.

In the lead-up to the PE, two other potential candidates have announced their intentions to run: Mohd Salleh Marican, the chief executive officer of Second Chance Properties, and Farid Khan Kaim Khan, chairman of marine service provider Bourbon Offshore Asia Pacific.

Salleh, 67, was the first to announce his plans on 31 May, while Farid, 62, revealed his intentions at a press conference held on 11 July.

In an exclusive interview with Yahoo News Singapore on 2 June, Salleh he was aware of the potential challenge from Halimah in the election and described her as being a “good candidate” for the presidency as she has “a good reputation and is popular”.

  28. I certainly found a large number of foreign PMETs in MNCs paid?extremely
well and living the high life in Singapore despite having?third world
qualifications we hardly even know. Most of these?foreign PMETs are quite
corky and look down on locals. I experienced?them in my drive. I am amazed
how PAP would import these third world?and brand them as talents. But
again, in the parliament, you see the?same third world talents putting up a
show to defend the boss, you?probably guess why they were imported!

PAP scheme of increasing the population to 10M is real, more and more?BTOs
and ECs are built for foreigners’ migration to Singapore. At?whose expense?

Our time is over, the ones who will bear the brunt will be the
next?generation, who ironically voted for PAP to do this to them. Thanks
to?your votes, the locals will be screwed big time and for those who?still
have jobs, I say don’t be happy, your day will come or numbered.?LOL
