Preparing Singaporeans for the future

We have heard many talks about preparing Singaporeans for the future. What kind of future can the Singaporeans be looking forward to in SG100? There are many signs appearing supported by facts and figures that are saying Singaporeans future may be something they better not look forward to.
One stark reality today is the influx of foreigners to take up good jobs and top jobs in Singapore, not only in MNCs but in GLCs and increasingly in stats boards, and also in ministries. What is this fearful trend telling?

Even today, while Singaporeans are still in charge, foreigners are increasing being recruited to top jobs, as CEOs in preference to Singaporeans. And what comes next? They start to fill up the company and organizations with their countrymen and country women. The prevalence of this practice is widespread and can be seen everywhere.

As time goes by, more and more Singaporeans would be out of jobs while more and more important jobs would be taken over by the foreigners and their countrymen and country women. Soon they will proclaim that Singaporeans did not have the skill sets and experience for these jobs, for senior appointments to be CEOs, to head departments and divisions. Oh they are already saying this and doing it already.

Without being employed, Singaporeans would only become less skill and less experience and therefore less relevant to the jobs. The whole process is as good as desensitizing Singaporeans from the job market, turning them into misfits, mismatch, and lack of relevant skills. Many daft Singaporeans could not see this dreadful trend and happily going about reinventing themselves to be hawkers, taxi drivers and even deliverymen despite their education and experience in the corporate world. They will keep descending into the lowest level of employment, of survival in this very expensive world.

How woudl all these developments affect the future of Singaporeans and the young of today? They will no longer be holding the top jobs for sure, or very few will. Not only that, they would also not be holding middle management jobs and not even low level jobs. Their fate would be the same as the non bumis in Malaysia. They have to go into small businesses, peddling pots and pans, to be self employed as they are no longer employable or no foreigner CEOs would want to hire them in Singapore. Yes, they should all be taxi drivers, security guards and hawkers and dressed impeccably as deliverymen. And of course there is still one big job reserved and protected for them, National Service, to guard and protect this island for the foreigners to rule them after taking over their jobs.

I am afraid this reality is increasingly become more real than fiction and will turn into a nightmare for future Singaporeans. Singaporeans, be prepared for a future when they become the outcast, the dalits of their own country, once called Singapore, once your home. Beware and be prepared for this fate if things did not change and the course of social and economic development continues in this direction. A stop must be put to this destructive trend to save Singaporeans and Singapore from the indiscriminate and irresponsible presence of foreigners to dominate over Singaporeans and to destroy the future of Singaporeans.

We cannot hand our country to the foreigners by default, without a fight. Stop going for more silly training to lower skill jobs. You should be upgrading when you go for training, not downgrading. Why pay and spend precious time to traing to downgrade? What nonsense!

The Singaporeans of the past were all the time trying to upgrade and improve themselves. Why are the Singaporeans of today told to downgrade and be happy with the situation?

  2. At least the non-Bumis in Malaysia especially the Chinese still takes care of their own kind in employment.

Whereas the Sinkies own kind even scorn their own kind preference to others.

They are the worst traitors to their own.

Even Hongkongers not an independent nation had the spirit of protesting when they find policies acceptable.

Pui, Nation of 50 years and still every men for themselves.

The Rich all the while enriching themselves.

Even professionals suck the finances of the needy by having as many incentives for themselves and families.

What a farce in National Service to protect the Nation when we are Sabo ing and maiming ourselves and even unable to Kell and protect our identity and onslaught by the Foreigners.

Meaning, they always like to talk about the glorious past.

PAP is a party of the future.
They always talk and mental masturbate about a glorious future.

What PAP does not like to talk about.
    The present. Today.
How fucked up Singapore is today.
What are their action plans today to improve matters.
PAP does not like to talk about today.

Here's a simple problem that can be quite easily resolved.
Start counting how many months/years it will take PAP to first understand the problem and then to fix the problem.

    If the PAP government can't even solve such a simple problem;
Do you think they can fix our MRT problems?
Do you think they can fix our unemployment problems?

Red dot is so small, with a small population of 3.5m, now absorbing 1.5m foreigners is looking for trouble. I mean trouble for the locals, not for the government, whose aim is just to grow the GDP.

But talking about that is now too late. There is nothing the locals can do. 70% thinks it is good going forward. About the future? No wonder people do not want to get married and have children. Why make them suffer? The elites can have as many children as they like, because they have the means to feather their own nests. Highest paid PM and ministers in the world. But the best way to determine the competence of PAP is to accept that "they are here to serve Singaporeans and not themselves".
So let's see how many months/years it will take them to even begin to understand the problem.

Knowing our monkeys ... they will probably appoint a Commission of Inquiry.

    Uncle,

What u said is supported by empirically observed economics phenomenon.

The technical term in economics is known as "Human Capital Decumulation".

For example, many retrenched PMETs are "rotting" away at home, parks, coffeeshops reading newspapers (omg, still dunno how the word "DIE" is written in Chinese?) or driving fake talents around from dusk to dawn .......

Each passing month may mean a few % erosion of their skills and knowledge etc

After 12 months, many PMETs are shadows of the point they were retrenched?

    What happen next?

  25. After 12 months, many PMETs are shadows of the point they were retrenched?

That means many PMETs really LL, LPPL until BL.

In polite and cheem (deep) English, it is called a vicious cycle of fearful trends, with each cycle getting worse, until the ultimate happens for all human beans, which is no fertility, death and extinction. Just like the dinosaurs.

Retrenched PMETs tend to be persistently UNEMPLOYED.

DONT be conned by what NTUC Fairprice supposed control of rice prices.

At that time, they set up Intraco, a sort.of trade agency to import rice from the rice exporting countries like Thailand from a government to government agreement and supposed to be cheaper in bulk.

You know the Directors of Intraco are also ex or even current serving MPs at that time and they are paid millions.

They are a sort of cartel to control the rice importation. Now where you can find cheaper rice in NTUC??

    Some supermarkets cheaper than them.

Why in matland the prices so much differen?? Less the exchange rates.

It's because matland no Agressive marketing?? What's means no Agressive marketing and advertising??

It's because they're do not have to feed the middle men and women with Incentives to push their products.

My boy had the misfortune to be Type I diabetic since 13 years. Four times a year medical check ups plus insulin per trip costs nearly four hundred plus. Multiple by 4 times.

Most times had to top up by cash. One hundred plus. Rest used own, mine and spouse medisave up to total 300.00 max per annum. Imagine now at age 30, how much we spend??

Insulin not subsidised drug. No subsidiary. The manufacturers are earning billions of dollars every year with world wide diabetic patients.

One ţime, while together with him and waiting for him saw two sales teams waiting to see the professor and resident doctor.

One team went in and had a conversation with the other team. Learnt that they had to fight nail and tooth to push their products.

Had hinted that had to be in the good books of these purchasers with many incentives.

Long time ago, a news reporter disclosed that these Doctors were flying for vacations on the expenses of these drug manufacturers. Now Likewise, the milk powder.

They were smart to cover in a way that these doctors and professional purchasers are going to the headquarters or factories for bullshits seminars. To know better their products.

They be there may be privileged just for a day and the rest balance week free and easy on their expenses. You think our Elites don't know. They just tak bodoh. Please everybody.

If now, frankly, if they were to discover a cure for this disease, the big cartels will simply shut them up with their resources. For this is big monies.

That's why, so many researchers the whole wide world been researching for this cure and yet made no headway. You won't be surprised that they are been brought over and shut up for good.

Now, regarding why the price difference between matland and even aussland and sinkieland for example, the milk powder.

Because, in sinkieland, we have those heartless so called landlords of commercial biildings, malls and even residential units who wanted to be billionaires fast and wanted to be known in the papers.

Compared matland costs of business to sinkieland. The rentals can killed you. What you slogging goes to these unscrupulous cartels of landlords with the blessings of the PAY and PAY.

They slaughtered you without seeing blood. But blood is on their hands.

NTUC set as a business and you know how many small provision shops had to close. So much their hypocrisy of what free competition.

They leaned on the Government to have a government to government contract and with capitals bought in bulk at competitive prices.

So, initially just one or two dollars cheaper and the Dafts conned into memberships of rebates fifty to hundred dollars per annum sang praises of what NTUC and the Government had done for the people. They killed the Small business with their cartel.

Stop your nonsense, i speak the truth. The price of items in ntucfp especially house brands, are reasonable, especially with rebates. Why do you say people who take advantage of rebates are dumb? The bottom line is you get cheaper stuff. Ok you say the ntuc bosses make money. So do sheng siong, giant, coldstorage. The bottom line is ntuc fp is NOT profiteering at all, because the products are priced similarly with giant, cold storage etc.The quality of products are very often superior to shensiong or giant, especially meat. Go ask your wife or mother.
Your argument that ntuc destroy business of provision shop is totally irrelevant. This discussion is about whether ntuc fp is overcharging or not overcharging. It has nothing to do with macroeconomic or consequential social effects od displaying lesser endowed entrepreneurs in the game.

    Same old mental masturbation.

HDB (as a monopoly) is not profiteering from the sale of HDB flats.
    Why?
Because HDB's flats are price at a discount from market price of similar products.

SMRT is not profiteering from the sale of stored value cards which mysteriously must be obsoleted every 5 years.

HDB is not profiteering from their car parks.

  67. Hello Ahgongkia, some people are not adamant in defending their Masters and when the Truths hurt, they said that you are speaking nonsense.

They are just too stubborn to face the truths and that's why the Papies are so cock sure of having their pepertual powers on them.

This Anon must have reasons to protect his rice bowls as any other person protecting theirs with my bad opinions of the NTUC idiosyncrasies of their propaganda of what helping the needy or poor with their socalled subsidies.

We, through our experiences being the establishment or authority that deals with them in knowing their history and dealing with them officially knows better.

Many kept mum as most typical sinkies does in exposing these untruths as most has been throughly fed with such progangada for years.

The truths that once a while, they can wayang by saying we are subsidising on this and that of what essential necessities to the general populace and so proud and publicised so much on that are just political stunts to con the voters.

They have obtained the same commodities on the on a much better rate than the others due to some governmental trade offs with the other governmental exporters.

Same time they already made so much, just simply foot some expenditure from their profits for political mileage in earning the goodwill of the voters that they are sort of non profits business for the people.

Frankly, these socalled senior citizens or pioneer rebates that they have on certain days may be welcomed by those really needy ones who are grateful for their socalled kindness.

But how much they can really have the rebates of 2 to 3 percents of their ten to twenty dollars purchase?? Not enough for a cup of Kopi orr.

On top of that, those staff treated the old folks as though they are giving them handouts and granting them favours. To the old folks a cent earned is a cent saved for them and they are been lead to believe that the government is so generous with what this NTUC bogeys of cheaper goods.

They are naive and innocents to be easily influenced in believing that they have a caring government.

Little do they realise what causes Sinkieland costs of living is so high. All these been artically inflated by the government and they will claim beyond their controls in the world's free markets.

We are price takers, not price givers. Price takers without having to manufacture a single bolt and nut of a car in to sinkieland at ten thousand and as price giver to you at one hundred thousand on the road.

Likewise, the petrol and diesel and not counting others.

Yes, they will said we need revenue for running the country. Where does the monies come from??

But they did not reply who have the most monies going into their pockets??

Hope this Anon who so feverishly defended NTUC will in his same way feverishly defended Singaporeans as what Mr RB does in defending the rights and liviehoods of true blue Singaporeans.

Just because i made a proposal that ntuc is not profiteering, i am said to be a ntuc or pro pap mrmber and mental masturbation going on. There is one person who ask me to respect old uncle virgo. Excuse me? How "old" is virgo? How "old" am i? Nobody knows.
Another nonsense presumption is that just because i think ntuc is not profieering means that i have to believe all the PAP NONSENSE that make it as if hdb and smrt are not profiteering. Of course hdb is profiteering, they got the land free and fake a subsidy to citizens. Of course smrt is profiteering, they make VERY HEALTHY profit and still have audacity to increase prices! Everything that CHIN LENG complain about pap approach to destroying Singapore society in his main article, is absolutely true. SINGAPORE IS FOR SURE GOING TO BR DESTROYED BY THE PRO ALIENS PARTY .
But there is no evidence to prove that ntuc is profiteering. Their stores are subject to same market rent as shengsiong. Their stores are paying same labour cost as sheng siong, overall the quality of goods sold in ntuc is better then shen siong. Try buying coconut or fish from ss and try from ntuc, the difference is clear. A few cents more sometimes, but its a different product altogether and the environment is better yet not too ATAS likr some cold storage stores.
I will gladly retract everything i have said, if someone can say objectively without insulting me personally, and show evidence why ntucfp is profiteering.
Some of you guys are behaving like PAP THUGS, WHEN YOU ARE CHALLENGED YOU START TO HIT BRLOW THE BELT AND GET PERSONAL. Stop this nonsense, your minds are subconsciously poisoned by the pap regime, you dont even know it.

  70. Concerning the issue of ntuc rebates. Some people here think that i am dumb to feel thankful to pap. Please understand this ntuc rebate thingie cannot be compared to the gst rebates and chas NONSENSE that pap is dishing out. In those cases it is truly foolish for any citizen to be grateful at all because the pap raise prices and give you a one time rebate. So THAT is FAKE REBATE!!!!
Some people may say why ntuc doesnt charge flat 10% (for example) all its goods instead of rebates? The answer is very simple. If everything is 10% cheaper, than others, all the other small shops will be in trouble. Ntuc provide air con environment, hight tech ptice display neat system ,ubiquitous presence, still 10% cheaper? Dont you think you will kill all competitions? More jobs lost? Then you people will complain again? You a nation of complainers? No wonder pap trample over you people who cannot think objectively and debate intelligently.
The bottom line is pricing is usually identical to other stores for same quality product. For those who want rebates, just flash the ntuc linkpoint card, cash deduction off all purchases. It is a reasonable system, considering the factors i metioned above. Satan may be bad but occasionally it does things reasonably. Pap is 80% bad for Singapore, but occasionally it does things right or reasonable. I am happy to patronize ntucfp, because it is convenient, pleasant, and the pricing is similar or less for the same product as other stores. Please stop personal attacks, give objective replies. If you have nothing brtter to say, please maintain silence you are more intelligent to do that.

So it is important to be focussed and at all times refrain from personal comments. If everybody learns to operate in this way, the nonsense PAP government will be easily defeated because 99% of their leaders are incapable of independent thought and creative debate skills.

Profiteering is you buy at $1, you sell at $12.40
I am saying ntucfp cannot be said to be profiteering because there is not any evidence . So far nobody challenge me on that. I only get personal irrelevant attacks. This is not smart debate. This is pap smear-style tactics. Move away from it and shine.

  77. "WHO CARES WHETHER PROFITEERING OR NOT". I think you need to think deeper my friend. Profiteering is evil, it robs innocent people of their hard earned savings. Normal reasonable profits are necessary otherwise the company will run into debt and negative cash flow. If you are not interested either way, there is no business for you to droo illogical comments here.
Again you put word in my mouth. I never said that everything in ntucfp is cheaper. I even said that sometimes its a few cents more but quality is better.
In fact a supermarket sells hundreds of thousands of products procured at different times from possibly different suppliers. Occasionally there will be price differences. But i am very sure from my experience that the prices at ntucfp are overall not marked up above market prices. THERE IS NOT A SHRED OF EVIDENCE TO SHOW NTUC IS OVERCHARGING CITIZENS.
Finally my friend, i do not understand your obsession with AGE. You asked me to grow up, you call many people Uncle, you asked commenters to respect old people. My friend, respect is earned. By your logic because mr Pinky is 60 plus years old, i must respect him? Sorry, i have no respect for a dictator who does all those evil things expounded by chin leng in his main article today. The age of a person has no relevance in any intelligent debate. Again i implore you my friend if there is nothing for you to say, keep your peace, dont reply this post for the sake of replying. It adds no value.

  78. To patriot,
I do not agree with you that buying from ntucfp is being "fleeced". I said many times, ntucfp items are generally in line with market prices of similar supermarkets. However if you compare to $1.99 shop or Daiso, occasionally you will find ntuc more expensive. But supermarket operations is a very complex matter. Daiso is linked directly to china manufacturers whilst $1.99 shops do sell some sub standard products which fail. Ntucfp on other hand is operating on different p!atform. It is very unfair for you to say that those who buy ntucfp products "enjoy" being fleeced. Nobody likes to be fleeced. Of course, the best way to get cheap and good prices is to bypass the middman, and buy online, which i am doing much more often nowadays. Howver it is consumer prefefence of convenience vs price, you cant say across the board that ntucfp customers enjoy being fleeced, this is a irresponsible conclusion.

    ReplyDelete

  79. For the Information of Readers here.

I DID NOT AND DO NOT SAID, SAY THAT NTUC FAIR PRICE fleeces anybody.

Every business entity exploits and hence takes advantages of consummers from time to time. Nothing unusual.

l was in marketing sales and retail(as employee) for over two decades. Had seen enough gimmicks and sophistries of market practices.
ln any case, do expect them as normal, otherwise we do not need Consummer Protectiin, Lemon Law and or even Government.

this is what you said, you forget?
"have diehard NTUC Members and PAP supporters in the Family. They are entitle to their ideosyncracies. Those that like to be brainwashed and fleeced, let it be. lt is their freedom."
In the context of THIS discussion here, it is clear as day, that you are saying those who buy from ntucfp enjoy being fleeced, are brainwashed.
Concerning the idea that "every business entity exploits", to some extent it is true. However, as consumers, we have to see them inside a black box. what they do inside the box is their business, we dont care. The output of the black box is the price. If you look at Ntuc pricing of stuffs vis a vis their product quality, nobody is going to say ntuc overcharges for inferior goods. This argument makes no sense at all.
Now if you expand the box to the entire Singapore PAP govt, yes i agree, it is overcharging, because, PAP has the capability to reduce prices by controlling rent costs and labour costs, but they choose to enrich the system and ignore the plight of the citizens. Yes, it is wrong. It depends which box you look at. In the context of the internal box if NTuc fp, it is fair deal. But as a greater whole, the pap govt is not doing the entire singapore retail market any good because it controls too much the cost of prodcution, ie rent and labourcosts, electrcity, water. This is wrong of course, nobody disputes that.
Of course society is full of evil and good folks, nobody disputes that. The issue here is whether NTucfp is evil or good folk. At this point in time, there is no evindence to sugges that NTuc fleeces the consumer. This is the point i am saying.

    ReplyDelete
  82. my friend agongkia.
firstly i wonder if you will refrain from referring to commenters with salutary terms like "uncle". It biases the argument subconsciously. Again, age has NO relevance here. I dont care if you are 60 years old or 16 years old. You put up a proposal, if it is good i agree, if it is not tenable, i will suggest why and if you disagree go ahead and tell why so. There is absolutely no need to guess a person's age, occupation, political affiliation, sexual orientation, ABSOLUTELY irrelevant.
Now you said i am defensive asking for evidence of profiteering. Please do not forget i jumped into this discussion because someone far above, suggesting that Ntuc is overcharging. That is not a correct statement to my knowldedge, and i happen to dislike untruths, therefore, i came in to offer my opinions. this is not "defensive". You know what defensive means? When i tell you say 1+1=3 and i tell you 1+1=2, you refuse to agree and insist that 1+1=3 and i get into all sorts of personal attacks (not necessarily by you). That is "defensive". Defensive also means the inability to humble down to either keep quiet or just say, well ok i guess you are right. It isnt easy to do so, i assure you.
And yes, Defensive also mean geting over personal about any argument. I have never at all gotten into a personal discussion about you that you "dunno English or Bo Tark Cheh". Actually i dont care at all whether you are a professor or bo tark cheh. A professor like those in PAP can talk nonsense. A bo tark chek man like the Sungei road Association Leader can talk real sense. It is completely irrelevant. I do hope that if anything, i have helped you along the way in carrying out sensible arguments.
