Ooi Jin Teck as CEO of Singapore Sports Hub?

Lee Bee Wah is rooting for Jin Teck, the current COO and now acting CEO with the resignation of Sawhney to be the next CEO. Jin Teck has all the credentials to helm this position, a Singaporean, an Olympian, represented Singapore in swimming and won many medals for the country. Why not?

When you read the names of the who’s who in the Sports Hub and those who have left, resigned after Sawhney became the CEO, one would be wondering why all the top management posts were held by foreigners and Jin Teck is probably the odd Singaporean man out? Don’t we have any Singaporeans good enough to be CEOs, or are we waiting to groom the next generation of CEOs in sports so that they would be ready to become CEOs in 50 years time?

I think Jin Teik’s weakest point is that he is a Singaporean, Singaporean is read as stupid, no talent and not good enough. If Jin Teik is a foreigner, his chances of being the next CEO would be much higher.

Would the Sports Hub be asking a foreign recruitment agency to go around the world to hunt for another foreign trash to be the CEO of the Sports Hub and Jin Teik, being a daft no talent Singaporean, is only a seat warmer, waiting to be replaced?

I know where they should be looking for another talented foreigner to be the CEO of the Sports Hub. Go to the little villages in the third world countries. They have all the talents that Singapore needs to run sports hubs and sophisticated modern businesses with skills honed from their little villages. Singaporeans like Jin Teik are just not good enough to be CEOs though they lived in a modern first world city. They just did not have the exposure needed to run modern facilities compare to the villagers.

What do you think?

They could have been practiced long before others became civilized.
ln fact, much civilizations were results of enlightenmemt from the lndian Subcontinent. Religion, Science, Culture and What not, lndia was at the forefront.
As for managing all endeavours, few in the modern world could match the lndians, especially when it comes to managing a remote village with little resources like water and with vast expanse of arid lands that are thousands of sq kilometres with many different ethnic population.
    lndia is up and coming.
Many expect lndia to race ahead economically and in other areas and may eclipse China in the coming years.
ln any case, no one should compare any sinkies with the lndia lndians, for running an lndian village could be many times more challenging than running a tiny speck located at a most endowed location.
The tiny speck in currently poorly run by locals, it badly needs some good and clever lndian chief to keep it agloat, oops, afloat.

  4. Sinkies are backward country bumkins. How to run the Sports Hub or even banks? Only remote villagers have the sophistication to do the job.

Now you know why Indians are so advanced and sophisticated in managing their country.

If not, then how to manage NOL (oops. too late), SMRT, SPH and etc. ?

    4. First for its Prime Minister to be assassinated by her own body guards.

    6. First to dishonourably and brutally murder their own daughters in order to protect their family's honour.

  9. In all spheres of business and government linked companies ( GLC ) they claim there are no local talents to run them and so they have to recruit villagers from third world countries especially from the country south of the Himalayas. Yet all these companies were built up by local Singaporeans with local capital. Just take for example DBS the Development Bank of Singapore was initiated by Dr. Goh Keng Swee in early 1960s and with the help of a large pool of Singapore talents and Singapore capital he built and developed DBS to what it is today. All the well oiled systems, departments and connections both local and overseas were perfectly built up and run by local Singaporeans. Then out of the blue they recruited a stranger from nowhere to run DBS as the CEO claiming there was no local talent. With everything well in place and with all sections and various departments well run by highly qualified Singaporeans even if the CEO goes on a one year extended leave or absence the
bank can and will still be able to run efficiently and profitably. This foreigner is just
an opportunist who supplanted Singaporeans and yet he is paid an exorbitant high salary every year cum ten to twelve million dollars in perks and bonus thrown in annually. It is indeed a waste of tax payers' money. What benefit has this foreigner brought to Singapore or is he being made use of to cover up some hidden agenda under the guise of foreign talent.

Not really lah. Maybe for his own good reasons and being also a smart Sinkie , Jin Teik didn't want, or was reluctant, to be Sports Hub CEO in the first place? Possible, tio bo? That's why Sawhney could get the job lor.

Just as smart Sinkies didn't want, or are reluctant, to join the Sinkie opposition to fight and replace PAP as govt. That's why PAP could win the election lor.

If the majority of the people in the Singapore government are from the military ... Does this mean Singapore is becoming a military junta?
    ..........

A military dictatorship (also known as a military junta) is a form of government different from civilian dictatorship for a number of reasons:
their motivations for seizing power, the institutions through which they organize their rule, and the ways in which they leave power.

Often viewing itself as saving the nation from the corrupt or myopic civilian politicians, a military dictatorship justifies its position as “neutral” arbiters on the basis of their membership within the armed forces.

For example, many juntas adopt titles, such as “National Redemption Council", “Committee of National Restoration", or “National Liberation Committee".
Military leaders often rule as a junta, selecting one of them as the head.

But when some U.S. businesses talk about immigration, they picture people they’d like to bring in, especially those with science, math or computer skills.

President Donald Trump has called for an increase in the legal immigration of high-skilled workers even as he’s looking to overhaul the temporary visa program used by technology companies to hire tens of thousands each year.
