Elected President - The Americans got a good model to copy

Look at Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton fighting it out for the Presidency of the most powerful country in the world, with executive duties and power to conduct wars all over the world. And look at their qualifications? Tsk, tsk, tsk. Now wonder the Americans are scratching their heads on which joker to vote.

Not to worry Americans, there is a new model to learn from, the Singapore model to elect the President. America is such a big and powerful country and they deserve to have a qualified and very clever leader to run the country, not anyhow hantam also can type. Both Trump and Hillary Clinton would be rejected by the Singapore model. We have the world’s most stringent criteria for an elected President, even if his job is mainly ceremonial with two custodial duties, like guarding the nations reserve and appointing of top civil servants. Never mind if the President can still be over ruled by Parliament or be bungled into the car boot and be driven into some dark corners when a rogue govt comes into power.

The Americans must study our new system of qualification for a president very carefully. It is a load of wisdom and for the good of the Americans, And there is a special clause for the minorities in the US which would come in very handy. The blacks and Hispanics would love it, to protect their interests and to make sure they will have a chance to be the President of the USA when their turns come, no need to fight with the  superior white candidates like Trump and Hillary.

Our new formula, waiting to be passed as law and build into the Constitution, is carefully crafted, and very fair and very good, by 9 eminent and highly intelligent individuals, all clear thinking people with the interest of the country and people at heart. And the Americans can simply copy it, without having to sweat the small stuff. We have not registered for copyright purpose and the Americans would not be infringing on our intellectual property rights.  I am also very sure our govt would like to offer this uniquely Singapore formula to the world as the best working model for govt and politics.

Oops, I forgot to mention an important point here. If the formula is to be applied, both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton would ace the qualifications. One being the CEO of a multi billion dollar company and the other an ex Secretary of State. Just these two qualifications would make them fine candidates of the US Presidency. Never mind about their characters that the Americans are having doubts kike evil woman or con man.

The Americans can vote them out at the Presidential Election. Oops, one more point, under the American system you can only vote one of the two out, and still have to live with the other one.

But not to worry, this formula will prequalify all future presidential candidates and make sure they are the best talents available in the USA. Yes, the Americans can have this brilliant formula for free. No need to say thank you even. Just do a little modification and customisation like $5b company instead of $500m and make the eligibility period for minority candidate to be every 3 terms or 15 years since America tot so many minorities. And don't forget the native Americans, used to be called Red Indians.

At one point, it was circulated that this role model of "democazy with ass-ian values" was the studying target of PRC top leadership till 2011 and then they had 2nd tots?

If this "latest model" is "copied and pasted" by PRC, the yankees minority issues paled in comparison?

China has about 56 minorities ...... including those that formerly ruled over the Hans majority twice spanning nearly 400 years.

It is the problem of choosing between the lesser of 2 evils.

Now, as thrown up by the American system, who is more evil, Trump or Hillary Clinton?

As for Sinkies, which is more evil, Malay minority candidate or Tan Cheng Bock?

In fact Sinkies no need to choose, as PAP by their rules will disqualify Tan Cheng Bock. Can the American system follow that?

  6. Cheng Bock was just being sarcastic.

Duterte is real, hundreds of times more real than Trump. He is a good man. He sees evil as it really is and would not be deceived by the western snake oil man. He knew that the Americans were their colonial masters, killed many Pinoys. He knew China did not do that and could pump in bilions to help him build a new Philippines, not like the Americans, want military bases and to sell him more weapons. But before that create more tension and wars to justify occupying the bases and selling the weapons.

Duterte is not blind and called a spade a spade.

Singapore is very lucky, only three minority races, Malay, Indian and Others. In the subgroup of Others, there are probably a hundred different races. Some will soon be more than the Malays and Indians in numbers given the open leg policies on immigration.

Actually, depending on how you look at it, it is already an ugly mess now. It is just that the streets and Hong Lim Park are still peaceful and PAP could still get 70% votes in the last election. So looks like nothing bad happening.

But to PAP as well as ruling party in other countries, streets are peaceful and winning 70% votes, and even by elections, are what really matters, now or in future.

  11. RB s post about US election did not mention one key factor for election in a system: change ideas, strategies, for a nation s survival.
Put it straight: dynasty and election have major difference. Change chief to change directions for the mass s survival.
Cut away the theories, the net net is what can voters get.
Between Trump and Hillary, one choice is a new, sometimes current mass cannot accept kind of person. On the other hand, is a woman who represent 30 years dynasty and voters choose to continue it.

On EP little dot, the voters are so used to one old man s rule so much so that his son can continue to do it until fainting. The voters are roped on one by one without thinking what they are going to face after the fainting is death. Who will not die? Voters just want to pass a day at a time. This is a current state. It is a good voting environment for the son to continue ruling, by showing the videos on mass media about his father shouting baleh lah baleh lah. Ok ok baleh one more time.

Change the EP to minority is one way to ensure the quiety and timid race will not question who will be the pm. But it may not be as the other minorities are far vocal than the majority.

The EP race with one race being put as must have, will explode into racial riots some days when the other minority race multiply in number. Voters know which race will multiply so much faster than the other with the help of mass immigration.
The pm job will be taken by the biggest of the minority race.
Then the ruling party might lose its ruling support.

The EP change is a dynasty type of change. It goes back to history book to steal the old idea and put into constitution.

Is there any difference to voter? No. The EP like the current one is basically collect salary type. No real efforts to bring in new business to little dot. Creating a minority race EP and put in ruling party s old face, will lagi far quieter than the current one. There is no hope this coming EP will bring new ideas or business to prosper little dot.

My fear is on opposition party. They follow the say way. The old leaders are unwilling to give up their posts for new young generations to flourish their new ideas.

I think the ruling party s roping of EP to follow the old ruling elites pace to continue to rule for another few terms actually provides a good environment for opposition party to raise.
If opposition party old leaders are also not giving up to outspoken, willing to do it, new young leaders, the opposition party will be far worst than the ruling one, as these young leaders lack money and funding to do something for the voters.

Young voters will get old by watching the politicians playing on stage. They are so much better if they vote for the opposition to stop this kind of dynasty play, if they are alert. The good alert was given on the air, the fainting. It meant time cannot wait for people keep delaying change. Next death will be a crisis if voters keep delaying and thinking these people are the best and no new generations can replace: both for ruling and opposition.

Today, western democracy is dying, she is no longer democracy but oligarchy. The western elites are the financial elites and Jews.

China can build 10 of thousand miles of high speed rail but USA cannot. In China, there are already fledgling free healthcare, but in Singapore or USA, the government insist free market. In short, people interest got to give way to rich.

USA and Singapore now engage in too much perversion, for example in USA, the rapist-murder-welfare race, the blacks are enshrine like got. The hardworking whites who commit no crimes are being penalize as racist. Thank you Jews, for getting back against Christian, revenging Hitler.

Its just that civilized people lose their "asabiya" or group spirit, who then get conquered by barbarians with high asabiya. But the babarians then become civilized and lose the asabiya. They then get conquered by other barbarians. It is the cycle of civilisation.

    2 race - Chinese
2 race - minorities. (Malay, Indian)
    1 - any race. ( new immigrant)

Then, 5 members would appoint the head (chief) of whole committees(President office) based consensus.

If they fail to reach a consensus, the govt would appoint the president instead based on recommendation, suggestion, feedback and in consultation with other presidents.

New Supervision power was delegated to such committee.

The President( 5 persons committees) was responsible for safeguarding the human right protections.

They sits as judges/arbitrator in tribunal style court to oversee whether the govt had violate the human right protections.

They should form such tribunal to investigate the abuse of power or dictatorship of PM or authoritarian govt. - It should works like a Congressional hearing.

  20. Continued...

The 5 persons committee ( President office)sets a tribunal to investigate some allegation made against PAP or leader

The tribunal would make their ruling. This ruling is not legally binding or enforceable till a referendum has been put before the people for voting over the result of the ruling.

If the referendum got 56% support for the ruling , then it is legally binding and enforceable.

The court must now recognise the ruling and allow proper remedy for the claimants.

The President office should enjoy this kind of supervision power. This is good check and balance against authoritarian govt or one man dictatorships ( become PM)

It is intentional to put in a weak EP, and not from the pool of candidates involving at least 2 TCB and TJS who knew the weaken leeder s history.

However, if this is the scheming to keep the leeder going, voters must be very careful to think: if the leeder cannot live longer than his term by 2020. What will happen if a weak EP minority race is put into the picture? We the new position stabilize the power struggle of the unstable ruling party? Will it get worst due to the sudden change?

On the other hand, if they put in a "powerful" EP with real authority, and when the ruling elites are in power struggle, will the EP be a stabilizing force or the other way?

But Americans, I think, have a great advantage. To renew our unity, we only need to remember our values. We have never been held together by blood or background. We are bound by things of the spirit – by shared commitments to common ideals.

At our best, we practice empathy, imagining ourselves in the lives and circumstances of others. This is the bridge across our nation’s deepest divisions. And it is not merely a matter of tolerance, but of learning from the struggles and stories of our fellow citizens, and finding our better selves in the process.

At our best, we honor the image of God we see in one another. We recognize that we are brothers and sisters, sharing the same brief moment on earth, and owing each other the loyalty of our shared humanity.

At our best, we know we have one country, one future, one destiny. We do not want the unity of grief. Nor do we want the unity of fear.

We want the unity of hope, affection, and high purpose.”

The involvement of family members and many incompetent players ultimately have its (astronomical) prices to pay (with the people especially the masses as the collateral damages?)?

    5. With exports numbers fast dwindling (unabated and) unstoppable since few years ago, (the only) counter measures never fail to be (old school and traditional model of) high-leakages spending (the only trick of the one-trick pony)?

The model seems so old that kopi shop and market hawker centre aunties and uncles also can relate and talk expertly on it?

We all know that in the financial market, when aunties, uncles, taxi drivers also get on the stock market bandwagons, it's time to run (and exit the market) as fast as Usain Bolt?

    6. The economic plans (in the past 26 years since LoaGoa-nomics ) sound so unsophisticated it can be put up in MSN many years before the (JLB) team in charge officially announced it?

The latest Tengah HDB town annoucement in the west is one such (glaring) example?

Building and relying on public housing projects to drive growth is done way back in the 1960s by Lim Kim San and falling back all the way to continue to rely on it as a main engine and source of growth is not going to go far for a self-acknowledged sampan in the blue water ocean?

    7. The (JLB) team's economic works so far revealed abilities only up to A-Level economics and some not even there?

Occasionally some flare showing higher level of learning but not often?

Vivian even admitted in 2013/ 2014 interviews some of the books they are reading up "now" comprises of A-level economic textbooks to gain some basic understanding and know (a bit) what's going on during meeting etc?

      OMG?

Does not such awareness make YEW very concerned (what best team old fart is tawking about?)?

  35. Healthcare traditionally has been a national responsibility. This is due much to the Fact that no society can allow and afford any Outbreaks of contagious diseases, especially the deadly one.
Failing to contain such Outbreaks could very well means wiping out civilizations.

Dealing with diseases is not just the Domain of Medical and Healthcare
Professionals. More often than not it needs the Resources and Back-ups of the Government in facilities and expertise from Tertiary institutions in researchs, protocol and regime in disease control.

No nation in the World should leave disease control to the Citizens themselves. If Healthcare becomes unaffordable to the Sick, the patients may forgo treatments. If the Patients carries a deadly contagious diseases, the Consequences shall be directed and fatal.

All Governments have Primary Duty in
disease control, for any regime to wholly commercialize Healthcare is tantamount to dereliction of duty.

Wish that Sin will do it's besterest to contain any contagious diseases. ln this highly compact tiny dot, a disease caused wipe-off is not unimaginable.

U ve never seen read hospital and medical treatment in china. U stop commenting on china health care will do yourself a favor. China provides personal health care at almost zero cost for some even living at remote area.

Do not compare china health care with the expensive singapore system. U make yourself sounded like a frog in a well making noise.

A chinese will get free TB treatment. A stroke patient would get someone medically trained riding bicycle carrying the required medicines to the patient s farm house almost free at certain age.
