Kind and compassionate Yeo Guat Kwang

More retrenchment and unemployment are appearing on the horizon. The economy is looking bleaker. And many poor foreign workers are going to be retrenched. And these poor souls are steep in debt after paying their agents big sums of money to be here to get a job. Yeo Guat Kwang and the Migrant Workers Centre(MWC) are appealing to the employers to hire those retrenched foreign workers first to help them service their debt. He is so kind.

May I also appeal to him to make a similar appeal to the employers who are hiring PMETs to also consider Singaporean PMETs that are retrenched. These PMETs may not have to pay the employment agents or owe them money for their last jobs. But I bet you their financial burdens are just as heavy if not worst. Many would have big housing mortgages to service, children in schools or universities and need their support, need to be fed, need pocket money, need to pay school fees, tuition fees, transport fees etc.

Please take care of these Singaporean PMETs also. I have yet to hear an MP or minister coming forward to appeal to the employers to hire retrenched or jobless PMETs first. They only want to send them to work in third world countries or as security guards, waiters or taxi drivers. The jobless PMETs need help just as much as the foreign workers. The foreign workers are at the lower level of job hunters so the appeal would not be in conflict with their interest. Just appeal to the employers not to hire foreigners during this period and think of the retrenched Singaporean PMETs first.

That would be the kindness thing to do. Thank you.

  1. He is far sighted. Planning to be voted into Parliament with the votes of foreign workers. Must give him a national day award for 'Services beyond the call of duty', for serving foreigners first.

  3. No need a MP or minister to appeal to our employers on behalf of our so named Pmets.
Our already struggling employers are most willing to prefer Sinkies over foreigners.
So call PMETS should stop dreaming about the past imaginary title and start grabbing any jobs that comes by.
Stop being lazy, choosy with EM .Our employers love us.

Not only 70% said OK, they are also OK.

It's only a minority, including jobless PMETs turned taxi drivers or security guards, who are not OK. This is already factored into the 30% who voted opposition in GE 2015.

Even terrorists they brought in they blamed on Singaporeans. You think we stop the inflow.

Just for the minus 2 percent GDP and 10 months of negative growth.

See how he go and consoled them and take photos with them.

Built lots of sporting facilities for them..

Even get some unthinking brainwashed young nincoompoo to stay at their dormitories and report about their lives.

The current equally nincoompoo batch of ministers and mps are in a hurry to follow the OM vengeance of putting spurs on the hides of the sinkies thru his bohnlan yong son

The garment did not import the PMETs here, so it is their problems and the PMETs must take care of themselves. Garment can help by more training and Skillsfuture.

  11. TTIP - American Economic Imperialism Exposed

    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-05-04/ttip-american-economic-imperialism-exposed
    ===========================
Greenpeace secured and leaked the secret TTIP documents that Washington and global corporations are pushing on Europe.

These so-called “free trade agreements” are not trade agreements.
The purpose of the “partnerships,” which were drafted by global corporations, is to make corporations immune to the laws of sovereign countries in which they do business.

Any country’s sovereign law whether social, environmental, food safety, labor protections—any law or regulation—that impacts a corporation’s profits is labeled a “restraint on trade.”

The “partnerships” permit corporations to file a suit that overturns the law or regulation and also awards the corporation damages paid by the taxpayers of the country that tried to protect its environment or the safety of its food and workers.

The law suit is not heard in the courts of the country or in any court.
It is heard in a corporate tribunal in which corporations serve as judge, jury, and prosecutor.

In other words, the “partnerships” give global corporations the power to overturn democratic outcomes. .......
Only a traitor, a well paid one, could sign such a pact......

The Trans-Atlantic and Trans-Pacific “partnerships” have been conducted in secrecy.
The reason is obvious. Had people known how they were being sold out, there would have been a firestorm of protest.

“Today’s shock leak of the text of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) marks the beginning of the end for the hated EU-US trade deal, and a key moment in the Brexit debate. The unelected negotiators have kept the talks going until now by means of a fanatical level of secrecy, with threats of criminal prosecution for anyone divulging the treaty’s contents."

The government imported the foreign workers so must take care of them.

The government owe the foreign workers a living but do not owe citizens the PMETs a living?

Is that what you harping? ?

Does the local PMETs owe the government a living? ?

Is this a Nation or a Industry? ?

DO WE OWE THE GOVERNMENT, THEIR CRONIES TO LIVE HERE UNDER UNDER RESTRICTED FREEDOM OF NATIONAL SERVICE TO DEFEND THEM THEIR FAMILIES, PROPERTIES, BUSINESSES AND WEALTH? ?

No one is asking those foreign workers to borrow money to be here.
More Sinkies will be jobless soon if they try to act compassionate.Charity begin at home.
We do not need mp to care for foreign workers or animals.

  16. Why are we using taxpayer's money and National Service boys to defend the rich families, their wealth, their properties and their businesses?

    ReplyDelete
  17. @ "good question" 1139:

    >> Why are we using taxpayer's money and National Service boys to defend the rich <<

"Tax" can be thought of as a form of "protection money" you pay the Biggest Gangster to "protect you form harm". Tax is used to fund health services, education infrastructure and protective services like the police, courts and military. All these tax-funded items protect us from HARM.

The rich pay the most taxes---especially COE's for their multiple cars, property taxes on their McMansions and a shit-load of GST on their "lifestyles".

Therefore, it is only right that the rich be the MAIN benefactors of the taxes they pay. So it is the government's contractual duty to offer them MORE protection.

As for NS: all local-born citizens who have a penis has to do that. No escape, even if you cut off your male children's dicks.

  18. How many like Buttock's "Orh Luak" pls kee chiu .....?

A test can be used to prove whether a hypothesis is true?

A sampling size can be anything from 40 consumers onwards should be good enough?

    ReplyDelete
  19. First, the designer of the test or statistician doing this "Orh Luak Food Survey" should define the Null vs Alternative Hypothesis.

Next, the test statistics should be stated and the "collected sample data" used to compute it's value.

In this case, it is quite easy as by applying Central Limit Theorem, the distribution of the sample data can be taken/ approximated as a "Normal Distribution" and the sample standard error converted to a "Standard Normal Distribution to yield the values of the test statistics using NCST Table 4?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. However, using standard normal distribution probably would lead to a larger ( statistical ) error bcos the standard error of the estimator or its variance is assumed to be known which actually isn't?

Thus, stating the test statistics as a function of the student's t distribution might be more appropriate ( and accurate ).

Hence, NCST Table 9 or 10 should be used instead to compute the value of the test statistics?

      Delete
  20. But now there is a problem?

    Test what?

The Null Hypothesis ( which is step one ) has not been defined?

    1. Good .....

      Now yall are learning. ....?

First, you must define what u want to test ( ie, what parameter )?

      Delete
    2. Want to learn ( statistical methodology ) somemore or "give up" ( ie, surrender )?

Sound "little little" confusing right for those without ( good ) Mathematics or Statistics background?

Ok, let's say now finally the parameter to be tested is properly defined which is a test of proportion ( and not a mean ( average value ) in this case )?

      Delete
    3. Following so far?

For testing of proportion ( P ), standard normal distribution is used so we are back to NCST Table 4 or 5 ......?

The 3rd step is to define the critical region for a given significance level ( ie, Type I error ) which is usually 0.05 for the first test?

    4. Oops, haven't mentioned what are Type I and Type II errors, significance level, confidence level, power of test etc .....?

  21. Guys, your variables are changing wrt time. In one instance the Orh Luak has tasty pork lard, next time maybe not so. The eggs could be cooked over or under, maybe there's more corn starch, or the amount of oysters vary. Other variables might be the taste of the chilli sauce or whether respondents use or don't use chill sauce. All this (and more) will affect the choices in the survey, and the results will vary day to day.

You may be dealing with hidden Markov processes you haven't identified. Afterall, these are people's tastes and preferences you are testing. Subjects at any particular time might range from hungry, to starving, to not that hungry, but since it is orh luak, I must try...all this will affect their choices.

Therefore I suggest going Bayesian. Treat this as a Bayesian network.
