The formula
is also applied to top civil servants. Unfortunately it was not too successful
here but not because the formula was flawed. The few corrupt civil servants
that were charged in court were likely caused by them not being paid enough not
to corrupt. You see, the formula is to pay a person so much that he would not
be tempted to become corrupt. There is a little fine tuning required as some
have a bigger appetite or a bigger ego to think they should deserve more. So
the trick is to make sure the person is paid beyond his expectation.
This
exceptional formula can also be applied to the Elected President. Pay the
Elected President well enough so that he would not become a rogue. Same
principles applied. So simple. No need any super talent or genius or a bunch of
genius to crack their brains to reinvent the wheel.
This is a
simple formula, a simple solution that is guaranteed to work. It worked for the
last few presidents and none became a rogue. If money not enough, can always pay more in
case of more demanding and talented candidates. The Constitutional Committee
can be dismissed to do some more important things.
The solution
is in the hands.
The rich is incorruptible eh....is that your joke for the year? It's funny that you didn't realise that Singapore works because it applied the science of shifting goalposts!!! U should consider this in your next article....so many things are shifted..doesn't matter whether it's moral or immoral..eg...electoral boundaries...cpf schemes...retirement age...Singaporeans have been shifted and shafted so much that we now find the pain so pleasurable...hehe
ReplyDeleteMany khongcum uncles seems to think that pay is the only factor to have or retain good leaders or prevent "korruption".
ReplyDeleteDun be shallow minded lah can or not.
Those who lead an organisation should, besides being paid well, enjoy special privileges.
Privileges like allowing them to marry as many as they want like those olden days emperors.A leaders with few concubine serving him legally will be a happy man.A happy man surely can be a good leaders leading his men.
We lost a numbers of talented leaders not because of pay but because of charbors.
We need talented and happy leaders.
Give them more charbors.
What's wrong with having more wives.
seow tintong toking.
ReplyDeleteThey are smart, and you the whole lot, are stupid. That's the greatest formula. Now go shopping or eat your porridge and remember to put your denture on before munching chicken feet. 😊
ReplyDeleteTiok. People collecting millions and millions and you people talking cock and eating porridge with salted eggs. See how happy the multi millionaires are, everyone of them beaming from one corner of their mouth to the next.
ReplyDeletePoor daft everyday kpkb and trying to make ends meet.,
Another good formula. When you are at your wits end, Trust God. Go to your many temples, churches and "and thought shall not mention about that religion less thou invoke their wrath" provided by the Men In White for your enlightenment, comfort and donations. Or sit under the durian tree and meditate also can.
ReplyDeleteThis will put a smile back on your face again with even greater resolve and expectation of more good years to come. You are so blessed by the gods.
.. 4 yr entertainment(talk God sing songs) also lol

ReplyDelete>> So the trick is to make sure the person is paid beyond his expectation. <<
Haha...oh how we wish this were true.
Human nature is such that everyone over estimates their abilities and thus over estimates what they are worth. No matter how much you pay someone, the best you can expect them to think is that they THINK they're being paid "reasonably fairly" for the job they have to do.
i.e. this is a "trick" which will NEVER happen. Anyway, a person who is "satisfied" with their pay is hardly going to be motivated to perform, out-do himself and strive very hard to be "better".
>> Pay the Elected President well enough so that he would not become a rogue. <<
A better way would be to fix the salary and to have laws to curb presidential excesses. (including being stoned or drunk and pressing women's tetek....ah Devan Nair, you were entertainment GOLD lah 😂. P.S.: I'm sure the molested women thought he was being a "rogue".
>> If money not enough, can always pay more in case of more demanding and talented candidates. <<
In Singapore, one can rest assured that over time, state executive salaries will go up and up and up and up...How can we expect our notable servants of the people to expect anything else? Don't be silly...in Singapore, every red-blooded Singaporean wants to earn MORE MONEY and he expects his paymaster to accede.
Frankly speaking overpaid salaries in the tens of millions over two terms, should be returned back to the State's coffer, which many Singapore citizens, the tax payers, rightly believe those 7-digit salary, million of dollars are excessive, and should not be accepted.
ReplyDeleteAs a ceremonial President whose jobs to protect the reserves and NOT to draw millions per year as salaries and at one time a salary increment of $500,000 which was paid .
An executive president of the world most powerful country USA is paid much less and stay in an area much smaller.
Many SG Head of State before served humbly with a tiny fraction of that salary.
Kindly return those overpaid salaries $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ back to the State by doing so would undoubtedly boost the Sporeans' respect for the institution.
@ 129:
ReplyDelete>> Kindly return those overpaid salaries $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ back to the State <<
Fat chance, slim chance (in English they mean the same thing...confused yet?) of that EVER happening. The ultra super high pay is written into law lah.
Anyway, the Singapore culture is such that everyone on the island wants super-duper pay. How much you pay a Singaporean is never enough lah. They will always complain. They will job-hop for extra dough.
Singapore is a materialistic culture. If the people are like that, how can you expect the govt. to be different, when the people in govt. are just Singaporeans like all of us? Use you blain lah.
Materialistic people get the materialistic government they deserve!
"I Guess It's Food Stamps": 400,000 Americans In Jeopardy As Giant Pension Fund Plans 50% Benefit Cuts
ReplyDeletehttp://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-02-18/i-guess-its-food-stamps-400000-americans-jeopardy-giant-pension-fund-plans-50-benefi
.................................................
American pensioners get a 50% cut in their pension payments.
What about Singaporeans' CPF?
- will we get a raise in the CPF Minimum Sum?
What is the difference between cutting the pension payment and raising the CPF Minimum Sum?
Do you think our Singapore politicians should keep 90% of their salary in the CPF?
ReplyDelete- we don't want them to lose their money in Batam do we?
Get a gov job and lick balls can also be a good formula for survivability. Yes, can visit Batam more frequently too. lol
ReplyDeleteGovt should create more Govt jobs for stupid people so stupid people can remain stupidly occupied and happy and not bother them, what do you think?
ReplyDeletePak Harto and Marcos were not corrupt till they were found out to be be corrupted for years long before they were arraigned.
ReplyDeleteAnd some corruptions were discovered after the Culprits had left to join their Makers.
So, do not claim that Sin is corruption free.
Low crime does not mean no crime.
No top dog charged for corruption does
not mean there are no corrupted
doggies.
Corrupt or not corrupt not for stupid people to say...it is for highly educated Lawyers and judges to say. If they don't hear and see corruption then there is no corruption that's why they cannot say is corrupted because obviously no corruption how to say there is corruption right, stupid people?
ReplyDeleteSo Sin leaders are really and truly non corrupted just like pastor kong hee who believed he was not corrupted because jesus power and spirit kept him on the blessed path of blessings of the blessed.
So many stupid sinkies still said president only $2m or $4m. They are so thick and cannot think that it can be plus 24 mths or plus 36 mths, ie $12m or $16m in a year man.
ReplyDeleteIf a junior minister or parl secretary gets $600k pa, plus 24 mths or 36 mths, that is 3 or 4 times Obama's salary.
So? Judges Lawyers OPENLY say corrupted or not? No right? So who you say is corrupted or wrong to ownself pay ownself in millions?
ReplyDeleteGovt should create more Govt jobs for stupid people so stupid people can remain stupidly occupied and happy and not bother them, what do you think?

The "Hillary Vs Bernie" Pitch: Fix 'Cultural Bigots' Or 'Corrupt Billionaires'
ReplyDelete-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Whereas Bernie Sanders claims to represent the bottom 99%,
Hillary Clinton claims to represent a coalition of groups who are victimized by bigots (racists, sexists, etc.: she aims at women, homosexuals, Blacks, etc.).
Whereas Bernie seeks to mobilize the bottom economic 99% against the top 1% who have scooped up almost all of the economic benefits that Americans have gained since 1993, Hillary seeks to mobilize all bigotry-victims against all of the many types of bigots.
These pitches are fundamentally different from one-another.
In fact, they’re diametrically opposite diagnoses of the biggest ailment threatening the U.S. future: our perilous economy.
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-02-18/hillary-vs-bernie-pitch-fix-cultural-bigots-or-corrupt-billionaires
Its ok to pay him $4m if we tax him $3m. Whats his tax rate?
ReplyDeleteKey word here is transparency.
ReplyDeleteAs Singapore voters get more and more sophisticated and demand for more transparency is getting stronger .
Key appointments - more transparency please
The wages of Sin is death. Please sign your legal contract on your way up.
ReplyDelete“Please do not assume that you can change governments. Young people don’t understand this”
ReplyDelete“Without the elected president and if there is a freak result, within two or three years, the army have to come in and stop it.”
Guess who said these things before he died?
Guess how long after he died before things start to change?
Do you think he told the truth when he said he will rise from the grave?
His cock will have to rise first. When the cock crow three times, you know he has risen. But he is invisible. Only those who close their eyes and tears roll down their cheeks can see him. The rest, just believe he is risen.
ReplyDelete“Remember your place in society before you engage in political debate… Debate cannot generate into a free-for-all where no distinction is made between the senior and junior party… You must make distinctions – What is high, what is low, what is above, what is below, and then within this, we can have a debate, we can have a discussion… people should not take on those in authority as ‘equals’”
ReplyDelete– Former Foreign Minister George Yeo (1994)
Do you think it is very divisive for a country to make distinctions between;
- what is senior and what is junior
- what is high and what is low
- what is above and what is below
If it is divisive to say that in 1994;
Then why do you think he now talks about Singaporean unity now in 2016?
"Mr Yeo, who is chairman of Hong Kong-based Kerry Logistics, added that Singapore had to stay united as a people to deal with problems decisively, even as it keeps a keen eye on developments abroad."
http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/domestic-and-external-challenges-intertwined-george-yeo
Do you think George Yeo's statements in 1994 contradicts his statements in 2016?
Do you think a Presidential candidate should unite Singaporeans or divide Singaporeans into different categories?
@635:
ReplyDeleteOne of the many LKY quotes:
>> “Please do not assume that you can change governments. Young people don’t understand this” <<
This one in particular raised my hackles...
Who the fuck are yew to tell "young people" this? They may not understand in yewr way, but they have some idea...their own ideas. This is not 1920-something, we are closer to 2020 lah!
Young people from time immemorial have had to put up with this sort of ARROGANT ADULT NONSENSE, but if one looks at history, especially recent history you can find countless examples of young people bringing their new ideas to fruition and writing chapters and chapters in the historical record. ALL OF THEM did things their way...fresh ideas, youthful passion and boundless energy...
Examples those who had monumental world-changing achievements as "young people":
Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Jerry Yang, Sergey Brin, Larry Paige, Elon Musk, Steve Wozniak, Mozart, Isac Newton, Albert Einstein, Carl Friedrich Gauss, Évariste Galois...and of course Singapore's very own Lee Kuan Yew who was only 36 years old when he became Singapore's first Prime Minister, tossing out Chief Minister Haji Omar Lim Yew Hock.
LKY's BIGGEST PROBLEM was that he was unwilling to allow Singapore to FAIL.
>> “What we are preventing is duds getting into Parliament and government" <<
Fuck Yew again! Who the fuck are you to "prevent" such things from happening? The choice of who gets into parliament is a matter for The People, not the incumbent govt.
So what if there are "duds" in govt who who'll run the cuntry into the ground? The people ultimately are RESPONSIBLE for their own destiny, and collectively the destiny of their nation.
But no, that is not good enough for LKY.
>> "the cure for all this talk is really a good dose of incompetent government. You get that alternative and you'll never put Singapore together again: Humpty Dumpty cannot be put together again... and your asset values will be in peril, your security will be at risk and our women will become maids in other people's countries, foreign workers."<<
Let's say this actually came true. So what? OK, perhaps no so rich anymore, but really...so what? The majority of people in the world are nowhere near as wealthy as the average Singaporean...but they still manage to live, to have families even to have their own societies...and dare I say, to be happy.
LKY himself was never understanding of the importance of making mistakes...sometimes big fucking mistakes which affect the entire nation.
Small wonder then we have a local CULTURE now which is risk-adverse (kiasu) and UNFORGIVING at mistakes and failure.
Luckily there's a cure: bring in more foreigners and change the fucking gene pool so that eventually this "toxic shit"---the "bad part" of LKY's legacy---is bred out of the gene pool.
Singapore culture in a nutsack: kiasu, kiasi, ai pee aichee ai tua liap nee...
Nabeh!😝
In the land of the free, people are free to fuck around. In the land of the not so free, they like to keep to conjugal tradition and fuck each other. The decision to fuck freely or just each other falls on the elders.
ReplyDeleteThe elders, through much deliberation and after seeking higher science, decided that fucking each other only is the better way. Fucking around is just too dirty, they figured.
One day, stories broke about scandal in the land. Boys and men were walking around in a funny and violated way. Apparently, the stories were coming from the minorities. No cause for alarm either, apparently. The majority were happy or gay.
You mean parliament got no duds?
