I was listening to
Channel News Asia news programme and there was the answer everyone was looking
for. It was so simple but no one could think of it. Our terrorist expert in the
S Rajaratnam School of International Affairs, Prof Rohan Gunaratna explained
France’s problem and what France could have done and avoided the attack.
The European countries
that are taking in the refugees must learn this lesson from France . They
must take good care of the refugees, give them good jobs, do not let them get
together to live in slums or ghettos. Integrate them with the rest of the
population. When these people are fully integrated and become like the rest of
the citizens, you would not have terrorist problems.
Don’t ask me how to
integrate the Muslim immigrants with the mainly Christian locals. But I may
suggest they learn from Singapore .
Singapore
has a huge immigrant population but they are successfully integrated and
blended very well with the locals. The govt spent a lot of time and money to
integrate them and the locals have fallen in love with them. But that is only
one part of it. Give them good jobs. In this area Singapore has definitely outdone
everyone else. We not only gave them good jobs, we gave them top jobs instead
of giving the jobs to Singaporeans. And the unemployment rate of Singaporeans
is even higher than the immigrants. And when Singaporeans lost their jobs and
could not find jobs in Singapore ,
the govt would not impose a pro citizen policy of hiring Singaporeans first.
Instead the govt would train the Singaporeans to work overseas. So the angry
Singaporeans would not be left behind, jobless and trying to make ends meet and
give trouble. They will be happily employed overseas.
And, oh yes, this one
very important. In Singapore ,
the immigrants don’t stay in the ghettos. They either live with the
Singaporeans in their homes, fully integrated or they live in private condos in
their own ghettos, together. Oops, living in private estates on their own would
be fine. They will be so happy that they would not think of becoming terrorists
in their fine homes that are better than the average Singaporeans.
This is the successful
story of full integration with the immigrants, to make them happy, with good
jobs and good homes, the Singapore
integration way. The European countries must send their officials here on study
mission to learn the right ways to integrate their immigrants before they
turned into terrorists. France
has its problems and the rest of the Europeans too have their problems with
their immigrants.
Singapore has the solution in hand. It is called integration. So simple!
ReplyDeleteRB
But RB, being the wise old man that you are, ever wonder why France has a huge immigrant population, and mostly Muslims? And why Singapore don't have, even though Singapore, just like France, also has huge Muslim neighbouring countries?
So where got so simple, u tell me lah?
ReplyDeleteNow! Now! Now!
VERY very sorry the world has come to this state. Sad!
This "LESSON" is for the world.
This is a very very very important "LESSON" for Singapore future!
It is never too late!
Review Now! Do the RIGHT thing NOW!
Now! Now! Now!
Haha...
ReplyDeleteEven the Expert on terrorism is an imported one and he has his fellow countrymen working with him. However, they did not help or prevent the terrorists from killing their coubtrymen back home. A Sg Lady was brought back in a box too.
The Security Experts are not only well integrated here, they were given jobs to secure Sib and even promoted in appointments and academically.
They could be staying in private or even landed properties.
Got to agree that aliens are living it good here with the mindful attention of the Locals. Their employers like them, the Government take good care of them. What more can they want ? Bashed up the Locals and threatening to kill them.
Oh yes ! It happened numerous times, maybe they took it as a form of pastime.
The Aliens are having it so good in Sin and oe threatened to take over Sin one day after the Locals are overwhelmed. Question is; how are Sinkies to prevent being overwhelmed rather than get killed in any terrorist acts ?
No worry.
DeleteWe have here a Khongcum security expert in one Agongkia.
He and his mei meis sleep soundly as he believes Sg is well secured by expert uncle and auntie in the security industry.
He has full faith that Sin Leaders are doing well and fine as far as security and defence are concerned. He could be speaking as an expert too, though not in official capacity.
Who knows that there maybe many such experts like Agongkia.
So long as Sinkies are not khongcumkias and get misled easily, there is not much worries.
But, the 70% does indicate that Sin is not short of khongcums and cumgongs.

/// Singapore has the solution in hand. It is called integration. So simple! ///
ReplyDeleteConfusedcious, he says, man with sex problem wakes up with solution on chest.
Dun understand how you can claim one to be terrorist expert. LOL.
ReplyDeleteTo me one can only claim to be expert only if he or she can foresee or prevent such incident and not talk after the attack that one fail to forsee.
Else i would prefer to get a fortune teller or disaster teller , betterer and cheaperer.
Do not let our daily life being affected by these isolated incident.
So as not to lose the battle against terrorism,
Firstly we must trust that we have a capable Garmen with intelligent and competent Home Team, dedicated security professionals who can handle this well, preventing such incident from happening here which they have been doing.
Next have faith on their selection of FTs here, integration or not.
Terrorist will stay away if they find out that Sinkies have confident on their Garmen , cooperate and fully support the Garmen.
Remember our Ah Kong's story about the 5 brothers and chopstick?
Go find out from your Ah Kong if you have not.
Terrorists or whatever rubbish surely stay away from Sinkieland if they know every Sinkie know about the chopstick story and support our Garmen.
Got to agree how anyone can claim or be acknowledged as an expert when no one has ever made an accurate reading of past terrorist attacks.
DeleteFrom the Ways the So-called Expurts talked, they were liked reading scripts or news reports.
It shall be a big joke if one day the terrorist(s) hit them(expurts).
It is also agreeable that the Garmen has many expurts, how else does one became a Prime/Deputy Prime Minister Defence, Home Affairs Minister, Generals, Commissioner etc.
BUT, Sin did have on record, a limping suspected terrorist escaping from prison and EVEN out of the Country. Not much comfort and confidence in the Expurts though there are so many of them.
Better rely on the uncles and aunties in the Security Industry. They are much more effective as You said.
See, congcums got instinct. Dont
pray pray or is it play play ?
You are a khongcum expert. Just keep stirring the hornet's nest and see what would happen.
ReplyDeleteI have never read such unadulterated rubbish expressed in so few words.
ReplyDeleteFirstly, you speak about the marginalized immigrants. Yes, there are a few, but they are a small percentage of the marginalized population which does not participate in terrorist attacks. Secondly, the attacks are terrorist attacks, perpetrated by a medieval and barbaric cult which endorses sex slavery, murder, eschews human rights. It murders indecriminantly. Being disenfranchised does not lead to this behaviour. Thirdly, those in Europe that join IS and travel to Syria are rarely members of the disenfranchised few, they are members of the working and middle classes. If you bothered to listen to the news about those arrested in France, you would learn that all arrested had jobs, and were active in society, albeit a twisted section of society. Forthly, this is not a French problem, but a European problem. I find that such nonsense is designed to support the myth that Singaapore is integrated. It is not.
What I find so objectionable about your comments is that apart from being ill-informed, naive, basically stupid, is that they are misleading and can be dangerous. You read as if you are either completely unaware of ISIS, or support it, a despicable state of affairs.
Are you aware that neither the Sinai, the location where a Russian jet was taken down by a terrorist attack, nor Turkey, a country bordering Syria and where there has been a similar terrorist attack are not parts of France?
The reason that France was attacked is similar to the reason why ISIS has destroyed a large number of cultural artifacts. France and Paris were targeted because France is a pillar of Western values, Western democracy, Western freedoms, Western ideals. It is no accident that Rene Cassin, the individaul who drafted the UN Declaratio of Human Rights was a Frenchman. It is heartening to see the citizens of Paris on the street defying danger and demonstrating that they will not be defeated.
France and the French did not make mistakes. They are to be applauded. You may want to consider how the citizens of Paris supported Charlie Hebdot, and came on to the streets after the tradgedy.
Singapore was luckily to have an ex prime minister that are strong enough to terminate vermins like ISIS. A kind man will be walk over
ReplyDeleteSelf righteousness is a very dangerous emotion, it lead you to think you are right when you are actually wrong
ReplyDeleteMr, Miss Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteI find it difficult to understand your comments. Your English is very lacking my friend.
However, I hope that you are not saying that ex PM Lee was to be respected. He, as ex PM Goh and the current imcumbent are slime. Gangsters, dictators, who sought only to steal from the Singaporean economy, and take the proceeds from drug money laundering and responsible for Singapore's problems today.
Singapore is a tiny village, Singaporeans are the most miserable and unhappiest people in the world according to Gallop, is a cultural void and Singaporeans uneducated to the extent that expatriates must do any challenging work. Poverty is 30% and the bottom 99%, are basically that, and live a paycheck away from poverty.
Good morning Chris, welcome to the blog.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your comments. The only misgiving, you are looking at the ISIS and Middle East problem from the western perspective. I can't blame you for that. Do you ever ask what the hell are the French and the Americans and their allies bombing the daylight out of the Middle Eastern countries, killing their leaders and turning their not so perfect and unacceptable regimes to the West into broken countries and instead of some law and order, into lawlessness and instability?
The French are now flying more bombing missions into Syria to bomb the daylight out of who and who are the people they killed on the ground without knowing? The bombs will destroy everything on the ground, and lives. How much more destruction will the French do, and how many more lives will they killed indiscriminately in the name of Freedom and regime change, in the name of revenge?
Are the terrorists taking revenge in French soil for the bombings in their land?
No my friend, I am not looking at this problem from a Western perspective, whatever that means, and whatever message you intend to convey. So please let talk about reality, not some trumped and meaningless distinction. All too often I hear that ourviews are Western and should be discounted, essentially because the proponent of Asian views can think of nothing else to add. My response is, if you want to maintain this distinction, that Asian views are worthless, and valueless. Kindly consider my views on western culture and contrast with the valueless, non existant Asian cultures.
ReplyDeleteSome correctionsç
1) The Western powers are not bombing Middle Eastern countries as you say, they are bombing ISIS. Your assertion about lawlessness is complete nonsense. ISIS has implemented a horrific and lawless regime. ISIS needs to be removed. Period. It is simply an inhuman orgnization, and I think a little research will enable you to see this.
2) It is not revenge, and yes, it is in the name of humanity and human rights, something as a Singaporean you may not be aware of as human rights do nt exist in Singapore.
3) The terrorists are not taking revenge. It does not get that far. They are protecting humanity, human righs, democracy and all that we value.
Oh forget to address your superior western values and valueless Asian cultures. This kind of smugness can only come from little knowledge.
ReplyDeleteThe renaissance and wealth of the West and their smug values and cultures were built from the looting and killing of Asians and the destruction of eastern cultures. They have conquered the rest of the world by brute force, not by superiority of culture and subsequently oppressed the rest of world from recovering from their ruins.
There is now a Asian renaissance and this will compete with the western values and cultures on a more level playing field. But it would not be like a football match, where one is more superior than the other if you can understand the breath and depth of what culture and values are.
'Kindly consider my views on western culture and contrast with the valueless, non existant Asian cultures.'

Actually if you go to Europe, you'll find that it is very much culturally integrated.
ReplyDeleteThe problem here is RADICALIZATION of certain individuals who then form radicalized groups with SPECIFIC AGENDAS.
Some people---foreign and local---will not integrate (for as many reasons as there are people), but they are not any problem because they mind their own business and don't lay claims or instigate any other group.
Radicalization has shown itself many times before in the past. You can even argue that the early Christian church was a "radical" movement. The Prophet Mohamed himself was considered a "radical" and banished. Other "radical" movements: The Weather Underground, bomb-throwing Proudhon anarchists, Irish Republican Army....and so on.
All the above never did INTEGRATE with the societies from which they came. In fact, they went AGAINST the mores, norms and culture of the day...some keeping to themselves, others violently imposing their "culture" on the rest of society or directly onto the govt. itself. (The Weather Underground "declares war" on the federal govt of the United States circa 1970's)
Apart from having intel services, the military, police and alert civilians constantly look out for potential threats, there is NO SOLUTION to terrorism. WHY?
BECAUSE terrorists use the power of SURPRISE and STEALTH as guiding principles.
Even with the best intel and surveillance, you will catch some terrorist activity and even stop an attack, but no one will ever stop ALL attacks. Some attacks will succeed. (Do the math)
Sweet dreams.
***Oh forget to address your superior western values and valueless Asian cultures. This kind of smugness can only come from little knowledge.
ReplyDeleteIts not smugness, its the truth. I forgot to point out that as Singapore is a cultural void that this may not be evident to you, Please consider the visits of, for example, Western music performers, like the The Vienna Philamonica, conductors, and choirs to China, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong. Same story for other cultural forms. You might want to consider that over 5 million Chinese children under ten are learning the piano.
***The Renaissance and wealth of the West and their smug values and cultures were built from the looting and killing of Asians and the destruction of eastern cultures. They have conquered the rest of the world by brute force, not by superiority of culture and subsequently oppressed the rest of world from recovering from their ruins.
Rubbish. What more can one say? Western culture has developed over centuries and certainly not from the time they took spices from SE Asia. No one caused any destruction, especially as there has never been an influential Asian culture. perhaps you include Confuscianism as culture? If so it shows how off track your views are.
***There is now an Asian Renaissance
No there is not. Please get your facts straight and free of pointless cultural bias.
.
Chris, you are such a typical western hothead, so full of yourself, full of hot air in between your ears to throw your rubbish here as the truth. Let me quote you,
ReplyDelete'ISIS came about because the US left a vacuum. Its not relevant. ISIS is an abomination. nd obviously Iraq, Libya and Syria were not functioning states as demonstrated, in the case of Libya and Syria, by the Arab Spring. Pease get your facts right.'
Please get your facts right. Iraq, Libya and Syria were all functioning states in their own right until the Americans and their allies started their regime change to break them up, killed their leaders, destroyed their govts, destroyed their societies and economies.
And the whole world knew who created, trained, financed and armed the ISIS, except poor you. It is time you grow up and realised the world would not accept your nonsensical and fabricated truths anymore. Heard of WMD in Iraq?
Redbean, don't be a dick (at least for a minute or two) and begin quoting me for something I haven't yet said or asked.
ReplyDeleteCulture? Isn't that the stuff used in the making of yogurt?
No, rubbish again. I do not need to define culture for you. It's not commercialized culture whatever that means. Do not be ignorant.
ReplyDeleteI am not arrogant, simply stating a) what is the truth, and b) what is obvious.
Look at what you say, which is absolute nonsense:
***Iraq, Libya and Syria were all functioning states in their own right until the Americans and their allies started their regime change to break them up, killed their leaders, destroyed their govts, destroyed their societies and economies.
Unbelievable ill informed nonsense. Arab Spring began in Tunisia and the population exiled their leader to Saudi. Arab Spring spread to Lybia, removed and killed Ghadaffi. Assad is still in place in Syria. So who in your eyes did the Americans invade? Which leaders did they kill? Which societies did they destroy. It seems to me the complete opposite. The Americans arrived after the internal self destruction.
Before we continue, I would like to take this discussion back to where it began and ask you to answer two questions. They both require a straigtforward yes or no. The questions are:
1 Do you agree that the attacks in Paris (and the shooting down of the Russian airliner over Sinai, and the killings in Turkey) where terrorist attacks?
2 Do you agree that ISIS is an abominable terrorist organiztion that needs to be destroyed.
The Blog Owner of this Site did exhort

ReplyDeleteEuropean invasion[edit]
The European invasions of South America in the 16th and 17th centuries, principally by the Spanish and Portuguese, were to have a dramatic impact. The military conquests destroyed the Inca state; the consequent epidemics and social chaos reduced this and other indigenous societies by up to 93%.[24] Few other military events have had as long lasting consequences for a region.
Spanish conquests[edit]
Initial conquest of the Inca Empire[edit]
Main article: Spanish conquest of the Inca Empire
When Atahualpa arrived in Cajamara in November, accompanied by 7,000 UNARMED soldiers and attendants, the Spanish made a surprise attack, initiating the battle of Cajamarca.
The shocked Incas offered such feeble resistance that the battle has often been labeled a massacre with the Inca losing 2,000 dead compared to five of Pizarro's men.
Atahualpa was executed by the Spanish in August 1533. wiki

ReplyDelete1 Please do not plagiarize Wiki, Its not at all reliable
2. No, the US is in no way accountable for the rise of ISIS. ISIS developed from a political vacuum when the US left Iraq. Get your facts right.
3. Of what relevance is your comment about the Spanish (not Portugues) conquest of the Incas. In fact the explorations and conquests began in the 14thC, the Portuguese did not get much further than the boundaries of modern day Brazil. The Incas were knocked out not so much by conflict, but by disease transmited by the Spanish, disease to which they had no resistence, but in any case why are you saying this? Its hardly relevant.
4. The Anglo-Maratha wars were between the EIC, not the UK, and the point of this remark?
5. What is the point in listing the wars? Is there an inference?
Thank you guys for trying to educate Chris about European history.
ReplyDeleteChris, I would like to recommend you to read the Doctrine of Christian Discovery. It would give you a better perspective and understanding of the history of western culture.
In Chinese there is a term called 3 season creature. There was a big argument between Kongzi, oh they called him Confucius, a Chinese philosopher living about 500BC. There was this gentleman who came for an intellectual discussion with him. After a while Confucius started to agree with him even when he was talking nonsense like the sun rising from the west.
Confucius' students were shocked. How could Confucius agreed with all the nonsense from that man? When he left, feeling smug and good, the students asked their master. His reply, that man was like a 3 season creature who insisted that there was no winter. And he was right in his own view. For such creature's lifespan was only for 3 seasons and they would have died before winter set in. So he was right. He never knew there was such a season called winter.
Chris, you are absolutely right in your views.
Chris, you and your comments are good representative of how base is your culture.
ReplyDelete' Western culture has developed over centuries and certainly not from the time they took spices from SE Asia. '
ReplyDeleteNo it is not just simply 'take' the spice because it was NOT given to the English empire in exchange for money or what. It was committed at gun point /or gun boat diplomacy.
They robbed, looted, killed and cheated the indigenous people of their land and everything.
ReplyDeleteThat is superior western culture.
Redbean,
ReplyDeleteYou did not answer my questions, and the book you recommend has no credibility
Your pic of yourself shown a grown up man. But your views are like an imbecile.
ReplyDeleteEven if I try to explain to you, answer your questions, you would not understand.
Since you are so full of your supreme western culture, let me relate a story, which is part of eastern culture, to you and hopefully it will open up your little brain.
The story goes. There was this professor who went to visit a Japanese master to learn about eastern wisdom. For your information, wisdom is also part of culture, not just piano and philharmonic or an orchestra. The master invited him in and offered him tea. And the western professor went on and on about how great the west was. And the master kept on pouring tea into the tiny tea cup.
Then the professor shouted, 'oh,oh, the tea is overflowing'. But the Japanese master kept on pouring.
The professor stopped and pondered. Why was the Japanese master pouring tea into a full cup and kept on pouring. Then he concluded it must be the Japanese way of pouring tea. But he could not help it but asked why.
Then the Japanese master said. If your brain is as full as the cup of tea, nothing else can go in. What he was going to say about eastern wisdom would just not go into the mind of the professor who is so full of himself.
Go figure and see if this story can enlighten you.
My my, all you can do is insult, and of course tell rather stupid and pointless stories. How about adressing some of the points I have made, and answering the two questions I have asked you, now three times. They both require a straightforward yes or no:
ReplyDelete1 Do you agree that the attacks in Paris (and the shooting down of the Russian airliner over Sinai, and the killings in Turkey) were terrorist attacks?
2 Do you agree that ISIS is an abominable terrorist organiztion that needs to be destroyed.
