With the
new Parliament getting ready to do business, many have taken for granted that
practically every member of the Singapore Parliament is a millionaire. The PAP
ministers and office holders are many times a millionaire, with some likely to
be billionaires or near billionaires. The rest of the PAP MPs are also
millionaires after serving several terms.
For the new
MPs, many are already millionaires before joining politics. As for the first
term PAP MPs, they are on their way to become millionaires when the offers of
directorships to public listed and govt linked companies come their ways. And
they could be millionaires after serving a year as an MP or less.
In the case
of opposition MPs, they are not so lucky and would need to serve one full term
before making it as millionaires unless they are already millionaires on their
own. And since most of the opposition MPs are serving their second term, with
Low Thia Khiang serving many terms, all of them should also be millionaires by
now.
This must
be another record worthy of the Guinness Book of Record, a Parliament of
millionaires, one of its kind in the whole world. And this kind of record is
really unbeatable.
But 70%, most of whom I think are themselves not millionaires, supported these millionaires, or rather multi millionaires.
ReplyDeleteOr put it this way. A ordinary or poor Sinkie most likely would also not want to vote for his own kind as MP, tio bo? He/she prefer millionaires, because he/she knows only smart Sinkies can make lots of money to become millionaires.
That's why opposition candidates, most of whom are ordinary like the majority Sinkies, never got voted in.
Poor lee li lian, just about two years on by election ticket. Now abandoned and deserted by her own kind who simply falls for just meat scraps.
ReplyDeleteNow a full millionaire yet. Anyway salute her for turning down as nominated MP.
Got principles and guts. Not there for the monies.
If I were her, let the siew thiam eat duck go near duck, eat chicken go near chicken sickies suffered their fates.
Cheers Li Lian
Redbean are you a little jealous? So what, if the parliament is comprised of millionaires? As long as they can do their job and increase the Singapore GDP, there should not be any problem. Don't worry, Singapore is in good and capable hands. PAP will make sure of that. 70% of Singaporeans have put their trust in the PAP team, so sit back and watch the country grow and prosper. The 30% who voted for the opposition will soon be surprised by the brilliant performance of the team and get converted. The next GE will see 99% for PAP and 1% for opposition.
ReplyDeleteA Parliament of Millionaires
ReplyDelete-------------------------
Please remain calm.
Do not kpkb.
70% of us voted PAP in GE 2015.
We got the government we deserve.
" Don't worry, Singapore is in good and capable hands. PAP will make sure of that. "
ReplyDeleteSeptember 20, 2015 9:32 a.m.
Sure or not?
This is the same PAP Prime Millionaire and cabinet that brought us the first MRT meltdown to Singapore.
Involving no less than 250,000 commuters.
Also a Guinness Book of Records.
" Don't worry, Singapore is in good and capable hands. PAP will make sure of that. "
ReplyDeleteSeptember 20, 2015 9:32 a.m.
How is the next 5 years going to be different from the last 10 years?
It's the same old incompetent PAP Prime Minister and his pathetic cabinet team of Millionaires.
ReplyDeleteIf I Had One Million Dollars!
Remembered Dr Chee was singing at one of SDP GE rallies
a classic hokkien song "If I had one million dollars"!
Hahaha........
Anon September 20, 2015 9:41 a.m.
ReplyDeleteThe last 10 years was not bad at all. Many Singaporeans have had it good. Good schools, fantastic medical care, great GDP, safe and clean country, PGP, Medishield life, longer working years to earn more money etc etc etc.
With all these great things happening over the last 10 years, why KPKB? Do you want more than that? Surely not.
Your children go to good schools, top university ranking, top medical facilities and people and generally happy. 70% have shown their gratitude, so why are you so despondent?
Please be a little grateful for the great contribution and sacrifice of this PAP team
Right, right, kept sinkies should be grateful that they had these luxuries from the PAP.
ReplyDeleteJust like kept pets just simply drool and wag your tails in front of your owners for your scraps and meats
As good as zombies Good loyal Pedigree breeds with bmw cars and bungalows like one of our bro said and I don't give a damn who is the masters
Ran out it the cages into the roads and get run down by the trucks and buses
Ha ha this is what the majority wants
Good for them for trade off
"Please be a little grateful for the great contribution and sacrifice of this PAP team"
ReplyDeleteSeptember 20, 2015 10:31 a.m.
What "sacrifice" you tell me lah?
Getting a pay of a million dollars very self sacrificing meh?
Who should be "grateful"?
PAP Millionaires for their million dollar salary?
OR
Singaporeans for our peanuts?
Lu Kong simi PAP lancheow?
All the jealousy talks. Just because they are paid well, should not be a point against them. their contributions are worth many times more.
ReplyDelete"... their contributions are worth many times more. "

Sure or not?
Massive MRT train breakdowns every week.
Very "worthy" meh?
Lu Kong simi PAP lancheow?

ReplyDeleteWhy are you indulging in POLITICS OF ENVY ?
As a old man of a ripe age, you should be more benevolent, wise, motivated and encouraging. What attitude are you showing to your own children and grandchildren ?
What poison are you indulging in the young ? You are one of those people who sow the seeds of envy and seeds of divisiveness in our society.
There are many ministers (and senior civil servants)who were from poor families, lived in attap houses and 3 room HDB flats and from single families, who rose to become what they are today.
Repent and reflect, RB.
As a cuntry with the world's record for million-hairs, why not then a parliament of million-hairs?
ReplyDeleteAfter all, the govt. comes from the COMMON STOCK of the same shitty people as The Sheeple.
Let's face it, in Asia especially, wealth is associated with "success", "intelligence"...and a panoply of other noble character traits. All parents want their daughters to marry "rich men" and their sons to become "rich, successful and respected". In this way the family doesn't lose face
The cold hard, uncomfortable TRUTH: If you're rich, people look up to you. If you are poor, you'll have no end of disrespect, mean treatment and people either ignoring you or looking down at you. Being poor and broke-ass is the ultimate LOSS OF FACE in Asian society.
I do not agree with anon 105. I thus encourage redbean to keep on with his POLITICS OF ENVY, excoriating success and wealth, and championing redistribution---for which I wish him the very best of luck.
IMAGINE: trying to get materialistic, money-loving and success-focused Singaporeans to give up 20-30% of their revenue to be redistributed to lazy bums who sit on their arse all day. ๐๐ Whahahaha...you need lots of luck lah, and probably have to invent many gods so that he can pray to them for assistance....
When people promote the POLITICS OF ENVY, it makes the idea of "Living Well Is The BEST Revenge" so much sweeter.
Got MERITOCRACY?
" There are many ministers (and senior civil servants)who were from poor families, lived in attap houses and 3 room HDB flats and from single families, who rose to become what they are today. "

Right.
And now they are a bunch of nodding parrots in parliament.
Only contribution to Singaporeans well being is to nod their heads in agreement to everything their PAP Ministers say in parliament.
The million dollar salaries have effectively castrated their courage and sense of justice and service.
What the Chinese call running dogs of the PAP parliament.
Is FIFA putting a stop to the appointment of more PAP running dogs and nodding parrots in FAS?

Do our PAP Millionaires have what it takes to be truly worthy human beings?

Let's benchmark our PAP Ministers against Bill Gates, the richest man in the world.
This is a video of Bill Gates drinking freshly made pure drinking water made from human faeces.
The Gates Foundation funded research into this prototype machine that can potentially alleviate human misery and disease in refugee camps and cities with poor sanitation.

PAP Millionaires.
You are not worthy.
Always complaining about your "sacrifices" while collecting your self-serving million dollar salaries and directorship appointments into PAP-linked companies.
PAP Millionaires.
ReplyDeleteYou can fool 70% of us with your SG50 and LKY funeral.
But you can't fool all of us all the time.
GE 2020 .. how then?
LKY Funeral revisited?
SG 55 celebrations?
You know the level of your own incompetence.
We'll be watching and documenting your fuck-ups over the next 5 years.
And you know you will fuck up.
Temasek.
CPF.
MRT.
These problems cannot be solved over the next 5 years.
Irony, irony, irony.
ReplyDeleteIf many PAP ministers and ex-ministers claimed that they were from very poor families, and now they had made good, through the diligence & cooperation of Singaporeans, good policies of the past PAP pioneer leaders that gave them great social mobility and their own efforts.
Why are they enacting policies in past 20 years to reverse these social mobility for Singaporeans? Of which extreme FT influx is one, numerous scholarships to FTs is another, giving unequal business incentives/national obligations like NS to PR over citizens.
As the gini-coefficient, and distribution of wealth skew to its extreme, why are the current people in power still having policies worsening this trend?
Is it now that they are very rich, they want to entrench your positions?
Where is the empathy?
Where is the fair competition for real meritocracy?
And the fundamental of a nation: Singapore belongs to Singaporeans is even lost. What a tragedy!
What if Singapore does not belong to Singaporeans?
ReplyDeleteWhat if Singapore belongs to the Lee family?
What if all the PAP Millionaires are only working to benefit the Lee family?
What then?
What would be the scenario if the above were true?
It's not true of course.
And this is just a nonsense question.
Huat ah! All the very rich and humble and serving the very poor. Another world record!
ReplyDeleteFew rich people are happy. Few poor people are happy.
ReplyDeleteIMO, the resounding victory by pap mean that the state of the singapore economy is solely in its hand. We are now at the cusp of an economic recession. And I am glad that pap cannot put the blame on oppositions. And it has no one other than itself to fix the problem, which is a problem because pap's folks are cut from the same clothe and think alike. Also, I have no doubt it will attribute the recession to global factors (to a large part I agree) and then tell us that there is "only so much that they can do because we are an open economy reliant on trade".
ReplyDeleteI wonder how much salary increase the ministers will ask for this time?
@448:
ReplyDeleteI advocate doubling or tripling their salary. Make them work for their money. Trap them with high pay---just as how the devil might trap you :-)
>> I advocate doubling or tripling their salary. Make them work for their money.
ReplyDeleteDoubling or tripling someone's salary does not necessarily make him work harder. It will only make him obsess with thinking of how to double or triple his salary again and again.
@ 137:
ReplyDelete>> Doubling or tripling someone's salary does not necessarily make him work harder. It will only make him obsess with thinking of how to double or triple his salary again and again. <<
I have no problem with that. They have to stay where they are in order to make that (further multiplications of salary) happen, and in order to stay where they are, they need to work like hell, because the BIGGER the money, the BIGGER the dog-eat-dog competition for the job.
Greed is a fantastic motivator.
ReplyDeleteThose people had been outrageously allowed to decide how much to pay themselves.
They shamelessly claim that their pay should be pegged to the top 1000 earners. Why top 1000? Why not top 10,000? Or top 100,000?
And then they bring in rich imports to grant themselves an instant pay-raise.
So many things are questionable... Like people never understood why there is a need for 'mayors' in a small island like ours.
@ 742:
ReplyDeleteI don't think their pay is outrageous. It is astronomical. But it can go higher if they want it to. I don't have the slightest issue with that.
I support a one party dictatorship that keeps you assholes in line :-)
So pay up. Double or triple their pay, no problem. As long as Singapore is AWESOME, why should I give one flying fuck about HOW they do it?
@ stingy bugger, 1253:
ReplyDelete>> Should the country be saved one day, I advocate sending assholes like you into gas chambers. <<
Will the gas chambers be AWESOME? bawahahahaha...
